10/2025 - Domingo the 05th - MY JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Bror

Have a good friend in Sweden who kept the name bror for his last name --- Brorson.  Bror means brother.

    Today was a good day.  Slept good.  Worked this afternoon,  I work one more saturday then I am off until next january.  Going to have to go in just to sit & people watch.  Will sure miss being there.  Holiday open house with gifts to buy for the holiday.  I cannot do that.  Neither can MH.  We both are off for a couple of months.

    Yesterday I was busy but today was quiet.  Had a total of 6 visitors.  One friend did stay to chat for a while.  Nice.  But I had things I brought with me to work to occupy my time.

    Warm again & windy again.  Better than yesterday.  Mid afternoon a huge group of bicyclists went down Main Street.  Wish I had known & had my camera ready.  Missed them.

    I saw MM on a sidewalk near the Main & Lincoln corner.  He saw me & walked down to my car to visit.  Nice.

    Last night MM & CW sent me a photo of them together with the message "We love you".  I got tears.  They are now my iPhone wallpaper.  Thought MM might would have a tear also!!  The 3 of us do love each other.

    Supper tonight was pizza at Pizza Hut.  Odd my stomache has felt good for several days.  I am enjoying it.  Dessert was a small ice cream.  So habit forming!!!!

    Fotos are mostly autumn.  Plus some really old fotos of me as a young child. And one nice one of Willie & I.  😊

    On the way home I saw lightning to the north & south.  Sort of backed off right now.  Cooler tomorrow.

          

I am in the middle with 2 friends. Jennifer Ditch lived across the alley from me in the old hospital apartment house,  Verdell Purkey lived next door in the upstairs apartment.  She was my best friend until they moved.

Nice group shot.  Larry & Linda Strahan were twins.  She played with us sometimes.  Norman Fahrer had a brother in my class named Wally.  Their father was a professor at Bethany College.  Wally is a pastor in England now.  Lynn Hafphermel was a bright red head,  He was murdered when college age.  Too young.  Jennifer Ditch & her little brother Timmy lived across the alley from me.

10/2025 - Sábado the 04th - MY JOURNEY

Today's Name Day:  Frank, Frans

I had a Frank in my class in school who was my Swedish dance partner.  His father was also Frank & and a sculpturer.  I had a couple of other school friends named Frank.

    Had a cousin name ∂Frans.  He was also a neighbour.  His daughter & I were best friends for many years.

    Had a good day.  Slept good & made it to work ok.  Today was warm with strong winds.  The leaves were totally out of control!!!  I saw a pile of them shoot straight up in the air!!

    Lots of people walking around town.  And quite a few stopped in to see our show.  Nice.

    One girl who came in was from Florida & her family was from Stockholm Sweden.  We had a great visit.  I got soooo hemlängtan (home sick) talking to her.  Lots of fun.

    Our show this month are Swedish costumes, especially ones worn by our Swedish queens & kings of the Hyllningsfest.  I got all my photos taken & in an album.  Tomorrow I can read what is written about each one.

    Did get some bad news.  November is our Christmas gift sales event.  I don't do selling other than an occasional book.  So I get November off.  Probably December too  So does MH.  He does not sell anything either.  Makes me sad.  Will miss being there.  😥  Hope January goes back to normal.  Maybe they don't want me anymore.

    Supper was at Jalisco's.  Had a great visit with 2 of the wait staff.   I have now learned to say "I had a busy day".  Dia ocupado.  Fun talking to them.

    Dessert was ice cream and then groceries.

    On the way home I was pushing buttons on my steering wheel..  And odd button appeared under the box of where my cruise control used to show up.  And it stayed.  Soooooo.  I pushed a speed choice & voila!!!  My cruise works!!!  I wonder if my battery was so bad that my car software did not update.  And now it has.  Great!!! I called MM to tell him.  He sounded relieved.  Me too!!!

    MM & CW are at the Öl Stuga where a musician is performing.  They sent me a photo of them together telling me they love me.  Perfect end to my day.  I am always surprised when someone picks me to love/like.  But loving it too!!!

    I am awaiting Saturday Night Live.  Will be a great show!!  Bad Bunny is the host.  Love him.

10/2025 - Viernes the 03rd - MY JOURNEY

 

In 1974 at Wichita State University at the Round House I was lucky enough to see Elvis Presley live in concert.  Absolutlely amazing!!!  Wish there had been iPhone back then.  The positively the best night of my life!!

Today's Name Day:  Evald, Osvald

Had a wonderful friend named Evald.  Cool guy who collected farm machinery & made several trips to Sweden just to explore farm equipment.  Sure miss him!!

Unfortunately we have all heard of an Osvald.

    Not my best day.  Called in sick again.  I have not felt normal since last week thursday night with super low blood sugar that never came up to normal.  Felt bad ever since then.  I had one good day during the last week & that was on sunday.  I truly think my 3+ chronic illnesses had a group meeting & voted to make my life hell.  It worked.

    Kisse rarely sleeps on my bed.  For short times but rarely.  Today I woke up with Kisse curled on my bed & stayed there.  Cinder was on her chair staring at me.  What???  Was I snoring or talking or something?  They stayed in those positions all morning.  Although Cinder did snuggle now & then.

    Glad I did not work.  I doubt I could have walked up the sidewalk to the Mill.  And the basement steps would have taken me hours to walk down or back up.  Severe knee pain.  I think there is another place I could park but the steps...............!!!!

    So I called in then I  feel lots of guilt.  I always feel responsible what I need to do.  The last week has been a challenge for me.

    This weekend down to work at the SVAFC.  Hopefully that will work.  Very short walk to get to the door.  Just sit & talk to visitors.  Seems doable.  Supper out???  Big IF!!!  I just don't care at all anymore.  I just want my life back as it was.

    Too warm today.  And tomorrow.  But cooler is on the way & rain.  See if they are right.

    Fotos are Halloween & a "log" house that looks like a train.  Very cool.

    TV is finally improving.  Tonight on Graham Norton Taylor Swift is one of the guests.  Cool  And she is on upcoming late night shows.  Saturday Night Live starts new this sat.  Finally!!!
