Aprendiendo lunes

Qué día tan horrible. El viento aullaba todo el día a alrededor de 50 mph. ¡Solo desgasta a una persona! La lluvia puede venir hacia nosotros. Tal vez.

Fui al veterinario y traje a Nico a casa después de su largo fin de semana allí. Él se cortó las uñas, tiros anuales y algunas pruebas. Él está bien, pero 3 # es demasiado pesado. Debes alimentarlo menos. ¡Estaba emocionado de verme! Seguro que se acurrucó todo el camino a casa. Luego quiso jugar afuera un poco. Me alegra que esté en casa. ¡Lo extrañé mucho!

La cena fue en Jalisco esta noche. Comí solo, pero el personal me visitó. ¡Me hacen reír! ¡Es bueno sentirse bien!

Tuve mi clase sueca semanal en White Peacock. Tienen los mejores muffins. ¡Muy rico! Y el mejor té Mi último favorito es el té verde con miel.

La clase fue divertida. Cada uno de nosotros tuvo que escribir 2 oraciones sobre la semana pasada y una pregunta. Difícil de pensar. Nuestro maestro nos habló en sueco pero muy lentamente. Me hace usar mi mente para pensar. Pude entender la mayor parte de lo que dijo. ¡Muy bien!

Sentada en el sofá con Nico acurrucado a mi lado. Con su pelota y su animal favorito. Todo está bien en nuestro mundo.

     

Learning Monday

What an awful weather day. The wind has howled all day at around 50 mph. Just wears a person down! Rain is maybe coming our way. Maybe.

I went to the vet's and brought Nico home after his long weekend there. He got his nails clipped, yearly shots, and some tests. He is all okay but 3# too heavy. Have to feed him less. He was excited to see me!! He sure snuggled all the way home. Then he wanted to play outside for a little bit. I am glad he is home. I missed him so much!

Supper was at Jalisco's tonight. I ate alone but the staff visited with me. They make me laugh! Nice to feel good!

Had my weekly Swedish class at the White Peacock. They have the best muffins. Very yummy! And the best tea. My latest favorite is green tea with honey.

Class was fun. We each had to write 2 sentences about the past week and one questions. Hard to think. Our teacher spoke to us in Swedish but very slowly. Makes me use my mind to think. I could understand most of what she said. Very good!

Sitting on the sofa with Nico curled next to me. With his ball and favorite stuff animal. All is well in our world.

     

Domingo nublado

Blog corto hoy. Estoy enfermo en casa. Pasé el día en el sofá o en la cama. ¡Mañana debería ser mejor!

Short blog today. I am home sick. Spent the day on the sofa or in bed. Tomorrow should be better!

Día de Subasta

Cada 6 meses, la galería de arte en la que solía trabajar tiene una subasta de arte. Me siento en la mesa de membresía. Me encanta ese trabajo. Veo a todos los que asisten, muchos de los cuales conozco de mis días de trabajo. Veo mucho arte. Y si tengo suerte, pujo por algunas piezas e incluso podría ganar.

Hoy fue un día de suerte para mí. Puje en una sola pieza en las piezas de la subasta silenciosa. Y lo perdí en el último minuto. ¡Pero hubo una talla que hizo mi bisabuela y yo la gané! De alguna manera supe lo que valía y sus cosas generalmente van bastante altas. Tengo un trato hoy. Estoy encantado. Su nombre era Anna Larkin, pero mejor conocida como la abuela Larkin. Ella murió antes de que yo naciera. También hice una oferta y gané una pintura de Ray Stapp. Recibí lecciones de piano de su esposa cuando tenía 5 años. Un grupo de nosotros, pequeños niños, escribimos y realizamos una ópera de Los tres cerditos. Yo era el granjero!

Entonces un buen amigo compró una pequeña pintura pero nunca la miró de cerca antes de pujar. Ella ganó y luego no me gustó. Eché un vistazo y me enamoré. Una escena de nieve. Lo compré de ella. Nos hizo felices a ambos.

Después de que terminó la subasta fui a Jalisco. Solo necesitaba relajarme. Yo era el único allí. Charlé un poco y luego me relajé. Mi amigo J vino a sentarse y hablar conmigo. Cuando ella se fue, comí la cena. No tenía prisa.

Cuando llegué a casa me preparé con un poco de tequila y coca cola. Me hizo sentir mucho mejor.

Prácticamente un día perfecto.

            

Auction Day

Every 6 months the art gallery I used to work at has an art auction.  I get to sit at the membership table. I love that job. I get to see all those who attend, many of whom I know from my working days. I get to see lots of art. And if I am lucky, I bid on a few pieces and might even win.

Today was a lucky day for me. I bid on one piece in the silent auction pieces. And lost it in the last minute. But there was a carving that my great grandmother did and I won it!! I sort of knew what it was worth and her stuff usually goes pretty high. I got a bargain today. I am thrilled. Her name was Anna Larkin, but better known as Grandma Larkin. She died before I was born. I also bid on and won a painting by Ray Stapp. I took piano lessons from his wife when I was 5 years old. A group of us tiny kids wrote and performed an opera of the Three Little Pigs. I was the farmer!

Then a good friend bought a small painting but she never looked at it close up before bidding. She won and then did not like it. I took one look at it and fell in love. A snow scene. I bought it from her. Made us both happy.

After the auction ended I went to Jalisco's. I just needed to relax. I was the only one there. I chatted a little bit then just relaxed. My friend J came to sit and chat with me. When she left I ate supper. I was in no hurry.

When I got home I treated myself to some tequila and coke. Made me feel lots better.

Pretty much a perfect day.

            

Viernes

Buen clima hoy. Sin viento, cálido pero no caliente. Comencé el día con mi grupo sueco. Tomó algunas decisiones y tuvo una buena conversación.

El almuerzo fue en Jalisco con mis amigos J y G. Siempre es bueno.

Había planeado quedarme en la ciudad toda la tarde, pero estaba tan cansado que fui a casa a echar una siesta. Parte de RA es fatiga. Me desperté con mucho más dolor de cuello y mi reflujo ácido era bastante malo. Tuve un evento esta noche pero me lo salté.

Trabajé en mi vieja y vieja pc. Eliminé todos los programas que pude. Lo usaré para mi genealogía. Mi nueva PC pequeña ya dejó de funcionar. Grrr. Eventualmente lo arreglaré. Ahora no.
