Today's Name Day: Elof, Leif

    Today turned out to be a sofa/heating pad day.  I got little sleep last night & with the changing weather my RA pain is really bad.  Cinder & I did get a nice nap this afternoon.

    Had a nice cool day.  Last nite was in the 60s & this high today was 77F.  Heaven.  And with all the weather changes we got not one drop of rain.  It was all in the south.  Of course.  I have a friend who lives between Hutch & Pratt who had 5 inches starting last night at 230am.  They drove around & said all the ponds are full again.  Lucky for them!!

    Now that we had a nice day the weather is back for the super high temps & warnings & high winds.  We have a very slight chance of rain later tonight.  I expect it all to stay north of us.  As usual.

    Not much happening for me.  A few more texts today.  And my grandson I have not seen in a couple of years is visiting his other grandparents.  Lucky them.  I have no chance of seeing him anytime soon.  Lucky my other grandson lives here.  He is a big support for me.

    I was invited to a birthday party tonight but do to increase pain & no sleep I cancelled.  Hard to walk so there is no point to go anywhere.  And a bog crowd for me to try to get around with.  Hope tomorrow is better.  Maybe I can eat out for supper.  Maybe.  See how I feel.

 National Hammock Day

 

    Had a truly interesting night last night.  I had trouble sleeping.  As usual.  At 4am I got a surprise text from a friend.  We texted for 30 minutes or so.  Good visit.  I owed a couple of other friends a text so I chatted with my friend from Morocco.  Another good visit.  Then I texted a friend in Bangladesh.  He is a sweet young man who calls me Mom.  Good to touch base with him.  At 5am or later, I finally went to sleep.

    I was supposed to see my grandson who is moving today.  He sent a early text that I did not see.  If he had made a phone call I would have been able to see see him & help him..  He brought out all his stuff & left.  Never got to say goodbye.  I am sure he was excited to get on the road.  And I am just Grandma.

    We had a storm warning.  Looked scary here.  The sky turned black after some strong winds.  Then the wind quit & we had a small shower that I never saw or heard until I took Nico out.  Wet on the concrete.  Now is calm & cool.  But we are in a watch until 11pm.  Would love some rain.

    Nico pushed me too far tonight.  He is in the hallway until I am done with my blog & Spanish lesson.  He listens to what I say but does not stop & then starts again.  Too upset to deal with him.

 National Stay Out of the Sun Day

    Slept good last night.  "Normal" life through medication.  Whatever it takes.  Up early today for a road trip.

    I was suddenly rudely awakened at 7am by Nico barking & viciously growling his head off.  And he kept on forever.  He finally stopped so we went out to potty & saw what he was upset about.  There were 2 huge light colored dogs in yard.  One ran away but the other stayed to look at us.  My yelling did not scare him.  He finally walked down the drive.  They both had collars on so they were not strays.  Neighbours??

    I met my friend LL & we went to McPherson for lunch.  We ate at 5 Loaves.  Very nice place.  The menu has lots of options.  I had a French Dip & fries.  It was excellent.  Must go back.

    After eating we went far south to the Andover area to look at 2 cemeteries.  LL recently found out she has ancestors buried in those places.  They are from Germany.  Beautiful Catholic churches.  And the one town had some cool buildings.  Must go back for photos.

    Then we drove home.  Very nice to travel to some new areas.  And nice to chat with someone.  And share ideas of things with each other.

    Weather got hot again.  I saw 95F in the car.  No rain today but maybe tomorrow.

    Tomorrow is a holiday here ----- the 4th of July.  No celebration for me.  Anyone we used to celebrate with are either not part of our circle or they have their own plans.  Our town has no fireworks this year.  Other places near here do but on different days.  I can miss them.  No biggie.

13 june, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    Today was a much better day.  I am relieved.  Took my anxiety pill when I went to bed.  Slept pretty good.  After working hard yesterday, I was tired today & took it easy.  Not as hot today but the heat is coming.  Need a few days of hot & windy days to get the wheat ready to cut!!

    We have Canadian smoke to arrive here wednesday evening.  They say not as bad as NYC, but it will bother me I am sure.  Great.

    I was lazy & had 2 huge piles of boxes I never flattened.  I was lazy.  I set them by the trash bins & they trashed them.  Good to know!!  Will try not to do it too often. 

    I heard a woodpecker this morning.  Can see one sometimes but not often.  I almost always see an oriole every afternoon.  So pretty.  And I often see bluebirds in our pasture.  They never come near my house.  Gorgeous blue.

    Been storms again in western Kansas.  Now I got a warning there are storms nearing us here.  Believe it when I see it.

    Good news.  It is 100 days until the astronomical Autumn or 79 days until the meteorological Autumn.

19 october, 2022 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    I am still sick.  Less coughing but bad headache.  And I feel like I have a fever.  Glad I do not have one.  I cancelled today & tomorrow.

    In my FB memories there are more than usual photos of Willie.  To see him smiling & no dementia with a blank look is great.  But being ill it makes me cry.

    This is all I can write.  No wants to hear me complain or what I think.  I upset a couple of people yesterday so today I will keep quiet.

Wandering, 21 September 2021

     I am feeling better.  Partly the weather is awesome for a couple of days.  Partly I did a Moon Intention last night and again just now.  Hope my angels are listening.  Feel like I have been punished my entire life but no idea what for.  Something in a past life?

    Sat outside with Nico and it was a tad chilly in the shade.  Willie always told me when you see the grasshoppers turning brown they are dying. Yay.  Saw several brownish ones.  Had a monarch float through,

    This week is my little granddaughter's birthday,  I was going to share a photo of her but just too upsetting.  Of course that is what they want.  And I am sure my daughter is a better grandmother than I ever was.  Any family photos with grandkids, etc. upset me.  I tend to ignore them.

    Sort of backing away a bit from FB.  I tend to like things I see but many "friends" I comment on or like never return the favor to me.  I am stopping.  There needs to be give and take and too many times there is not.

    Another day at home alone.  I made a quick run for groceries so we have food again.

    Got my laptop back yesterday. Took me an hour to update all my passwords.  And I only had to reboot my iphone once and my laptop 2 or 3 times to get everything to connect and work.  See what tonight brings.

    A mix of photos follow.  Mostly Swedish themed.  I sure miss the days when I had friends to meet at the Peacock for fika.  Think that ship has sailed now.
