    Very nice day.  Always makes one feel better.  Only one problem but it was minor,

    I got up & got ready to eat lunch & go to work.  BUT.  No tv.  Must have been a moth or fly in the house that Kisse chased & accidently turned the electricity off to the tv,  I was not in the mood to get nearly behind the tv to turn it back on. So, of course, nothing taped today.  No soaps.  Grrrr.  Small deal.

    On the way to work I stopped for fuel.  Scared if my card would work.  It was fine.  NOW I have a full tank.

    Work was good,  The last two days of work I have not found a special photo to share with Lindsborg Nostalgia.  Maybe friday.  Had photos that were interesting to me for one reason or another.  But not to many others. 

    After work I stopped in the Red Barn to visit my friend RG & see his art.  He had 2 awesome paintings he showed me & asked if they were the ones I liked a couple of years ago.  They were.  Especially the one.  And he gifted me with them!!!  I was so surprised!!  I am thrilled!!!  Must decide where to hang them.  Somewhere Kisse cannot get to them!!!  She is. a mess.  Worse than a lilla buse!!!

    Weather was in the 90s.  No rain today.  None until tomorrow evening/night.  We all are hoping.  We are near 4 inches too low on rain.

    Supper was Mexican.  My one friend who works there says he is leaving in 2 weeks.  I hope not.  I will miss him but I am pretty sure he will keep in touch.  We text often now.

    Dessert was a snow cone.  I am going to be really sad when they close for the year.  )-;

    Drove around town a bit with JR looking for a certain house.  Try again another day.

    Cinder came in the house when I went to work,  When I got home she usually runs to get out.  She did not today.  I have tried several times to get her to go out,  Now it is too late.  She is not whining though.  Just an occasional dirty look.  Lazy!  See how the night goes.  Tomorrow I am gone two short times.  Should be better for her.

Severe Storms Again

There was a bit of wind in town & rain.  We had a bit of rain at my house.  I hear thunder again & some wind.

Today's Name Day: Uno

    I had a good day.  Slept fair.  Cinder stayed with me.  So nice that she cares.

    MM & his son MMJ (Junior). Were here before I ate.  Today they were getting ready to school tomorrow  -----   new clothes, hair cut, other errands.  They were here so I could help with plans for them moving to a larger home to accomodate the 5 of them.  I tried to find their new house but failed.  Must get more instructions.

    I worked this afternoon.  I had some names to change since I found the correct names..  Then things went well,,

    BUT.   A true idiot added 70 new members to Lindsborg Now.  What the hell.  70!!!   I should have deleted each one.  I got no work done for about an hour.  What a mishmash of people he tried to add.  IF we had mutual friends that were talented & good people I let them in.  Out of state, stupid info, stupid names for their jobs --- those people were not added.  IF he tries this crap again, I will delete all of his people trying to be added & I will ban him.  There are too many idiots in this world,

    Supper was mexican food,  Until a weather alert was issued.  We rushed to get snow cones before the weather got bad & they closed,  Nothing severe while I was there.  Our high today was 100F.  Ick.

    Home & Cinder when out.  She is staying on the porch.  But is staying out,  I keep checking.

    Photos are very old ones of when Mom decided she wanted to get in my son's combine.  A fun memory.  She was so thrilled!!  I doubt he would care today.  None of us mean anything to him.

National Spirit of '45 Day

Honors the can-do attitude of an entire generation affected by the trials and hardships of World War II. And is also the spirit of this year's presidential election.  And "We won't go back!"

Today's Name Day: Susanna

    Had a pretty good day.  Slept too late.  Must start setting my alarm.  But no problem.

    Cinder came in for nap time.  And just now when out when I got home. (8pm)  Lazy day.  Me too!!

    Supper with JR at Pizza Hut.  I ate just 2 small pieces.  Very good.  Saw that Tropic Snow was open tonight.  They were closed last night.  I thought that was it for this year.  So that was dessert.  And got great news!!!  😊. They are staying open until the street dance in September.  And every wednesday night until then also.  What a relief.  They usually close when school starts.  The street dance has been moved from August to September.  August is far too hot.  Last year the dance was over 100F.  Super hot.  Maybe 200 people came but no one danced.  September is much better.  Great idea!!!

    Sitting on Main Street tonight was just so pleasant.  Calm, quiet, cool, no sun, no wind little traffic, a few people walking around.  I could have sat there all evening.  Why can we not have pleasant days more often?

    Ended the day with groceries for JR & I.  Good.  Between us we actually had enough money!!  Lucky!

    Photos were actually for yesterday's blog.  And because we had rain yesterday many of the photos have to do with rain.

08/2024 Onsdag the 07th - Wandering & Capturing Moments

 National Lighthouse Day

Today's Name Day: Denise, Dennis

    Today was a pretty good day.  Except for the huge black flies that invaded the basement at the Old Mill.  Even one of us getting super violent with a fly or two it did not scare them.  Sheesh.  One even flew under my glasses on my eye!!!  Awful!

    I finished photos in Folder "G", sorted Folder "H", and got started scanning it.  Folder "G" had a couple of photos of a niece on her engagement & wedding.  Long time ago.  The wedding failed.  She is on her 2nd or 3rd wedding now.  Folder "H" has a couple of photos of another niece showing her cattle at one of the fairs.  Not too current though.  She was a child then, adult now.

    Supper was Mexican.  One of the wait staff had quit & moved on.  Then he had a change of heart.  He was back today.  I am so glad to see him.  I like him.  Known him for many years.   And I think he likes me also.  😊

    One of the kitchen workers speaks little to no English.  He & I had our first conversation with each other in only spanish.  Not in sentences but a single word here & there.  I was proud of us.  I told him I was "tired".  (cansada)  And he asked me "work".  (trabajo)  I said "si".  (yes)  Very cool..  We both smiled!!!

    Dessert was a snow cone.  I am pretty sure they will close next week.  School opening is soon.  I am sad.  😞

    It is rather scary that we have astronauts in the space center that were to be on an 8 day trip only.  Been there for several weeks already.  They may not get home now until February.  😱  I am scared for them.  Hope they are getting overtime pay!!!  

    Great weather today.  High was 95F & no humidity.  It felt ok.  Saw a friend who works at our local nursing home walking on Main Street with a sweet lady in a wheelchair getting some fresh air.  He is an angel!!

    I had a coffee date tomorrow but my diabetic doctor called & he has some meds for me.  And I need to have fasting lab done too.  Maybe friday.

Wedding Anniversary

We would have been married for 58 years today.  We eloped to a judge's office.  No one ever gave us a reception, shower or anything.  We had a lot of good years before health issues took its toll.  I mourn for the years we lost

Today's Name Day: Jasmine, Jesper

    Had a good day today.  As long as I stayed out of the sun & outdoors!!

    I got up early to get ready for work.  I got dressed, did my hair, etc.  Went to the living room, turned on my soaps on TV, fixed lunch & ate.  Not one cat appeared!  I decided to just go to work quietly so Cinder would be in the house instead the heat.  Got home at 7pm & they were still sleeping.  What a couple of lazy slackers!!  Cinder came & went outside.  It is in the 80s now.  A bit cooler tomorrow then super hot after that!!

    My weight loss shot is really working.  I have a fridge full of food & nothing looks or tastes good. Hope I lose those 10 pounds I just added.

    Work was fun, even though my friend & boss is away.  I finished the photo folder of "D" last names.  Got the "E" folder ouot & sorted the photos according to size.  Ready for next week.  I always look for something unusual or special whether old or young to share.  I found a perfect one today.  I knew the two adults in the photos but not the 5 little kids around them.  Just a few. minutes after I shared it the kids had been named!!  Will add names to the back of the photo & the copy of it next week.

    The smoke continues.  I do not quite feel normal but not too bad. I walked down my hallway at sunset & saw the sun in the west.  A bright red.  Have to try for a photo tomorrow.

    Supper was Mexican & snow cone for dessert.  One of the waitstaff has moved away. With his wife & daughter.  She just recently got here from Mexico but does not like my town.  She has no one to talk to.  She only speaks Spanish.  I will miss him.  Known him for many years.  One other worker I had not seen in a while but he was working tonight.  Glad..  I like him.  Another one thought he was going to visit Mexico again but no money.. I want him to stay.  He just a sweet young guy.  Smiles easi;ly.

    Photos are new ones I took today.  Mostly at the Old Mill.  Just little things that caught my eye.  So some of them are odd.  I have not got out to photo things in the country.  There was a house that had gorgeous flowers I wanted park by it for photos. But.  People were going in the house.  It is a bed & breakfast.  Poo.  Will get them another day.

National Tattoo Day 

I like tattoos.  Many of my friends have tattoos & I have 2 small ones.  Would like one more then I an done.  JS & I always went together when one of us or both of us got one.  Now it is just me.

Today's Name Day: Bruno

    Great day today.  Second night in a row I slept good.  Wonder what has changed.  Won't complain.

    Worked today.  Nothing but normal except there was a photo of Walter Conkrite in our photos.  No one thinks he was ever here.  So why his photo???  Almost done with the "C" last name folder.  "D" comes next.  Who is there?  Supper was Mexican & dessert was a snow cone.  Enjoy while we can.  They close soon ---- before school starts.  😧 

    Poor Cinder came in when I went to work.  It was too long on a nice day.  She was at the door when I got home & she ran outside.  But back in now.  I was surprised she was ready.

    When I got home I saw one of our turkey vultures sitting in an odd position.  We have maybe 6 that live in my backyard.  The lead one always sits on the top of a tall light pole.  There was one there but sitting in a new position.  Have a photo.

    I was on my FB group Lindsborg Now.  And someone was posting who was really upset with another restaurant.  He owns one too.  I tried to calm him & make some positive comments to him privetly.  I told him he had not said anything bad enough to throw him out.  Then he quit the group on his own.  In messages he was insulting to me &  harassed me.  And my group.  I deleted all the things I wrote to him.  I did not delete his stuff.  I have blocked him from me.  I really like his restaurant but am having second thoughts about going in there.  He is there often.  I want no public crap with him.  Dang.  They may have lost my business.  His wife often puts their menu for the day in my group.  Will I still allow that?  Have not decided.  She also sends me messages but I will delete her from there.

    But a good friend wrote to me & told me what they & their restaurant have gone through with him.  How dare he?  I am thinking his place just might not survive.  I have known him & of him for a long time so nothing he did or said surprised.  At first he hurt my feelings but my friend who wrote me sure made me feel better.  What a night.

    Turned to my news at 10pm but the stupid convention was still on.  I killed the sound & waited patiently while I email a friend.

The swimming pool is across the street from the Old Mill.  Always get to see our huge slide.  Kids often come to the Mill for treats.  No idea why.
