07/2025 - Lunes the 21th- JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Johanna

Went to school with a Johanna.  She was not here in first grade but came something later.  She died soon after out 50th class reunion from cancer.

    Another day of rest.  I had a lunch invite but I did not see it until noon.  I was awake many times during the night thanks to my glucose sensor.  Finally fell asleep around 7am & that was it.  Dang.

    Nice message from MM & one from NSG.  Nice to have people to make sure I am ok.  Helps me not feel so alone.

    MM returned to work today.  I am glad for him.  I have been so worried about him.

    Last night a guy that used to work here at Jalisco's texted me. While here, RL always came out from the kitchen just to greet me with the best smile.  Really miss him.  We texted for the longest time.  Nice.  And this morning he greeted me again.  I had an idea where he was living now.  I was almost correct.

    Cancelled today due to my health.  Had a great nap.  Forgot to set my alarm.  Wish it had made me feel better.

    Weather truly sucked today.  Almost 100F outside today.  My house never quite got cool enough.  I was out once & I could hardly breathe with the humidity.  I heard there is a fire in Colorado near Kansas.  Hope the smoke goes somewhere else, not here.

    In a severe thunderstorm warning.  I hear lots of loud thunder.  Some wind. Raining now.

National Mutt Day

Both of these 2 dogs of ours are "mutts".  Or mixed breed dogs.  We loved them lots.

Today's Name Day: Elin, Helena

    What a day!!!  Not at all what I expected.  Ended up ok but getting there was interesting.

    Today was a work day.  I started on folder "E" and I finished it by quitting time!!! YAY!!!  Folder ""F" on friday!

    But during the day we had visitors that reported a swarm of bees in one of our trees.  Called a known bee keeper & he came to check them out.  And then he removed them. I have photos to share at the end of my blog.

    While working someone got royally upset with me on Lindsborg Now.  I explained I was at work  had not thoroughly read the offending post & he was right that it was offensive.  I apologised. I removed it & gave the person who posted it a warning that the next time I would ban them.  Not a good way to settle a problem.  There is always something or someone.  The person who texted me thanked me so all is well there.

    Supper was Mexican & snow cone for dessert.  About halfway done with our cones, the severe weather hit.  YIKES!!!  The wind came in & scared me a lot!!!  I have been in a tornado before that almost destroyed our home.  We had to run for cover.  I got injured.  The trees bent over.  The air was full of lots of dirt & leaves & sticks & got knows what swirling around.  The car rocked!!  That was awful.  I kept quiet.

    When we left a fire truck was going out of town.  We thought to the south but the fire is east of town.  Maybe they were going to arrive at the fire in a different dirrection.  Someone wrote it was a huge fire.  With this wind that is really scary.

    I drove by the Old Mill to check on our Swedish Pavilion that is structurely unsound.  When I left town is was standing with nothing blowing off of it.  We are raising money to repair it.  At almost half there.  But we worry.  I called my boss to report to her.

    I drove home & it was fairly quiet.  No signs of rain or branches down.  Got home & Cinder headed outside.  BUT.  I did not hear the rain start. When I did I checked on Cinder.  It is pouring down!!!  She was hiding on the porch.  I had to move all sorts of stuff around to open a path for her to the door.  All the while I got soaked!!!  Water got on my scalp & ran down my face.  Lovely.  Need to shut the AC down.  It is 66F outside & after being 100 earlier.  Have to grab my second blanket when I go to bed.  Good sleeping!!

    That is all the excitement I have to share.  That is enough!!!

This is the bee keeper.  He would brush bees into the box & take them away.  By the time he got back those that flew away were back.  Repeated this 3-4 times.  Lucky to have him.

06/2024 Lördag the 08th - Wandering & Capturing Moments

 

Me & my best friend JS for at least the last 10 years.  Wish he lived closer to here agian.  I had 2 others long before him but both have passed away.  I was with JS when I for word one had died.  Good not to be alone with those tears.

Today's Name Day: Eivor, Majvor

    Another quiet day. Poor sleep again until around 5am.  Had a bad storm before bedtime.  Cinder was out & would not come to the house.  I called her 3 different times as I saw lightning approaching.  (No wonder I had trouble sleeping). She finally showed up.

    Bad storm.  Heavy rain.  Almost an inch here.  Strong winds from 49 to 60mph according to the local weather depending where you live.  I felt my house jerk with a gust or two.  Scared me & made me cry.  Cats were skittish.  I hate being alone in storms.  Always bothered me.  Now there truly is no one with me.  MM did text to make sure I was ok.  And encouraged me to call if I needed anything.  And was texting with JR.  Tried to text JS but no answer.  My son's sister-in-law & I always check on each other.  Very nice family.  Glad we have stayed close.  When I went to bed I was visibly shaking & upset.  But who would know.  FML.

    I planned on a short nap but Cinder curled up on top of me & I enjoy that so as long as she was there, I napped.  Needed some love.  Alone again today.

    Off & on hip pain today.  Not bad.  Stress about coming weather & who knows what else.

    Ate big for supper tonight.  Had popcorn.  Too easy to fix.  Eat better tomorrow.

    My boss sent me a photo she found in the new photo donations we got.  It was a place I knew of but never seen a photo of.  Very cool.  I shared some photos I found in what I am working on.  And the stupid comments people make never ceases to amaze me.  Several text things they assume but have no way of knowing  Grrrr.  Just irritates me.  I try not to let it show!!!

18 september, 2022 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    What a storm we had!!!  Severe weather was forecast here last evening.  I put Nico on his leash & we sat outside waiting to run to our tornado shelter.  But nothing happened so we went back inside.  Someone even wrote me & said they thought I was in the clear.  But no.

    Soon heavy rain & high winds started.  Suddenly something hit my front door very hard.  The door moved inwards about 3 inches & so did the wall.  I wondered if a tree hit us.  But it was the wind that caught my outside door & blew it all the way open & hit the wall.  I did manage to get it shut again.

    We lost electricity around 10pm.  Went to bed in the dark.  My first thought was of the brave linemen having to brave the storm.  I prayed they would be safe.  Around 1040pm our lights came back on.  So surprised!!!

    This morning when I went to Jalisco's I could see how deep my driveway had been under water.  Takes a lot of water to get the pond to overflow its banks, a lot.  My rain gauge said 4.25 inches of rain.  Had to be that much as deep as my drive had been.  It washed out the north edge again.  A never ending job.

    Lunch with JR.  I could not eat much after being so sick at supper last night.  I took half home.  The ice cream made my stomach feel much better.  I was so scared of getting ill in public.

    JR came home to clean up my yard.  Both trash bins tipped over & trash every where, thanks to the wind & wildlife.  But when we got to my house the bins were upright & all the trash picked up.  😊  Big surprise.  JR picked up other trash from around the house & yard.  And I brought out 3 other boxes from inside the house.

    After JR went home I called my nephew, KN.  He & his little son, CN, cleaned my yard up.  They are the best!!!

    I have made a decision to take care of my chronic diseases in my way.  Voy a hacerlo a mi manera.  I am no longer trying to explain anything.  Will just do what I need to do to survive.  I mostly am on my own with my health.  No need to for anyone to know what I do & try to explain & get sort of put down for doing it all wrong.  Voy a hacerlo a mi manera.

    If I can find a comfy way to sit or lay I will.  Then I can choose what ever activity I want.  No one needs to know what activity.

21 june, 2022 Wandering

    Mercy!  I might only write about the weather tonight!!!

    Got hot & humid as usual.  Usually the highest temp is around 4-5pm.  Not tonight.  Around 6pm we hit 100.5F.  Yikes.  Then it quickly dropped to 79F.  Nothing else.  There were storm warnings but nothing here.  I was talking on the phone to my cousin in Denver.  I suddenly noticed the wind had really increased from no wind to trees & weeds bending over to the east.  Then rain started.

    I hung up the phone & it rained so hard I could not see out any window or my front door.  One window had a tiny leak from the top of it & the back door the same.  Very tiny leaks.  Of course, Nico wanted to go out.  He would have blown away & been soaked to the bone.  Must be nerves.  He always wants out in a storm.

    Looked out the front door but could not see any limbs broken.  Will look again soon.

    There was a tornado seen near Ellsworth that disappeared quickly.  Wichita had strong storms also.  Could be more rain coming later, maybe.

    I hope we were mostly done with harvest.  That much rain & that hard is no good.  Will flatten the wheat.
