Today's Name Day:  Knut

I have known a Knut or two. But mostly today is King Knut's Day in Sweden.

I  always left my Christmas Tree & decorations up until January 13.  Notice many trees being thrown out & outside decarations taken down long before today.  Where are the Swedish customs???

    Today was ok.  I woke up with a bad anxiety attack.  Why??  I managed a short nap after lunch.

    Went to Lindsborg long before my SVHA board meeting tonight..  I had meds to pick up that were not ready.  Sweet girl said they had tons of insurance trouble & she was behind.  She said if I came back in 10 minutes they would  be ready.  I parked around they corner & gave her 12 minutes.  Then they were ready.

    After meds I went to Jalisco's for supper.  I wanted to see MA.  He is going to miss a few days at work so I saw him & will see him tomorrow also.

    Today was my historical group board meeting.  Plus we celebrated LL being on our board for 25 years.  They had nice treats & took photos.  Then we had a program.  It was interesting.

    My spanish lesson went easier than I expected so I have time to do my blog.  Good.

    I usually feel totally alone at our meetings but not tonight.  Two other members actually sat next to me at a table.  Then a guy I know sat down & we had a nice visit.  Plus an artist & her husband sat at the table also.  Nice for a change.  I have decided that I will just sit where I want & if that is just me, so be it.

    I bought a new iphone & it is here.  Ahead of schedule.  Going to pick it up tomorrow morning.  I can eat a burger in the car & go to work.  Hopefully not too late.  But there is bad weather coming & I did not want to wait until next week to get my phone.  Plus I am working extra.

    I actually did my photos this morning so I am ready.  Love all the cats!!

    Had a more normal day today. Finally. Not much sleep though. My new normal??

    Today is my grandson CF's birthday.  Sent him a couple of photos, card, & a long comment.  He wrote me nothing back.  I suppose he did not like the photos/card.  Oh well.  He did like it though.  I tried.

    A bit hotter today.  Around 90F again.  But low humidity.  This weekend they say 100F or higher.  I am staying home.

    Took myself out to Jalisco's for supper.  A very short supper.  Had a board meeting of my historical group.  Went ok. One usual grouch.  As usual.  We had a coffee for a guy who worked for us for 12 years.  He has moved out of town to a retirement home.  Had great food & a good turn out.

    Our program was a talk about a neighbouring town.  Very interesting.  I enjoyed it.  There was a cousin of Willie's who used to help us harvest who was at the program.  He gave me a nice hug & then had a good visit.  His sister was there also.  Fun time.

    Time to get Cinder in.  Photos are all black & white ones.    I took them all.  I had these ready a while ago.  No time to plan tonight.

National Taffy Day

 I just ordered me some.  Love it!

Today's Name Day: Desideria, Desirée

    Had a sort of quiet day. Short nap then I got up to sort through some mail I have ignored.  Got most of it sorted.  Too windy today & I have boxes stacked getting ready for trash day.  But they are a mess.  Will ignore until no wind.

    The day is about taffy that I truly like.  When I used to go to Denver, I always stopped in Lamar Colorado at a truck stop.  They had a huge area of  taffy all separated in different kinds.  I could just pick the ones I liked.  Awesome!!  I had 3 or 4 faves.  I sometimes stopped on the way home too!!! 

    Weather was cool last night.  Good for sleeping.  Too warm today.  In the 80s.

    Cinder stayed near to me last night.  Outside until nap time then in.  Now outside.

    I did a good deed today.  When Cinder went out after her nap, there was a huge flying bug in her water bowl.  He could not get out.   I got something to fish him out but he slid back in.  Fished him out again & watched to make sure he was ok.   No clue  what he was.  Just glad he was not flying at me!!

    I tend to be a picky eater but I had a weird idea.  I eat taquitos often here at home.  They are frozen & good,  I love lingonberries on anything.  I wondered how they would be on a taquito.  So today was the day.  I usually put sour cream on the taquitos & today I did except one I left a bit dry.  And then put some lingon on it.   And it was quite good.  Sweet.  And it even tasted ok with the sour cream too.  Will have to do it again!!!  And a photo for proof!

    Have a small chance of rain tonight but not holding my breath.  Saturday is a severe weather day.  Oh joy.

    Just got word a lady that used to be on the historical board with me has passed away.  She was so smart & interesting.  And part Indian.  I enjoyed her company.  She taught me a lot.  Bless her soul.

National Cherish an Antique Day 

Today's Name Day: Ottilia, Otto

    Had a good night & slept good.  Cinder sort of ignored me.  No idea why.  Both cats seemed to roam around some.  Kisse not as bad.

    Had trouble sleeping this morning so I was up early & shampooed my hair.  I have no idea why I hate washing it so much.  Washes & styles easily.  I am just lazy!

    Had a nap this afternoon but not too long.  Had a meeting at 6pm.  Historical board meeting.  And it went faster than usual!!  Nice!  Accomplished a lot.

    I did not stay for the program.  Just too tired.  Next month I won't miss the program.  An exellent one.

    Could not decide what I wanted for supper.  I ended up going to the White Peacock for a cranberry lemon muffin.  My favorite.  And iced green tea with honey.  A good meal!!  Love being there.

    The board always meets in a local church by the college.  There was something fun going on at the college.  Sharing photos.

                                

There were both college kids & grade school kids jumping & playing in these huge balls they were inside of!  They were bouncing around & into each other.

All the rest of the photos are taken in the White Peacock.  They have a cup I want far too bad.  Expensive though.  Still want it.
