National Chocolate Day

Today's Name Day: Simon, Simone

    Had a so-so day.  Far too quiet after such a fun weekend.  😔  Only emails with a friend.  I love hearing from her.

    Did not sleep as good as I wanted but I did get a good nap with Cinder. She curled up with me twice.

    I had an interesting dream this afternoon.  I worked in a bar serving food & drinks.  There was a sweet little boy & his mom in there.  Seating was like picnic tables.  The town streets were dirt.  Willie came in all young & happy.  He was wearing a coat he had at that age.  He looked good.  We both did & I could walk without pain.  A large group of his friends came in.  The husbands were so friendly with me but not the wives.  So true to real life.  I thought I would only wait on the men but then decided I would wait on all of them despite their rudeness.  No need to stoop to their level!!!

    Trash day tomorrow so I had several bags to carry outside.  Almost too much for me to do.  Only have boxes between my bins so one bin is empty.  I have ordered some bungee straps to use on my bins.  Can fill one with boxes then.  But I only have me to depend on so I managed.  No choice.  Not like there is a line of caring people waiting to help me.  😏

    I even actually cooked supper.  Had pasta with sweet & sour sauce.  Not too bad.  I am full & not sick from eating.  Without being told how to eat.  Like I don't have a clue.

    Poor Cinder.  She wanted so sit on my lap but I cannot blog then.  She will survive.  Soon she can snuggle.

    Coolish last night.  Not cool enough.  House was stuffy.  Too warm today.  In the 80s.  Winds up to 30 mph.  Worse tomorrow.  At least 3 fires in the state.

My all time fave animal.  Wish I had seen an adult one in Sweden.

Today's Name Day: Dag, Daga

    Had a good day today.  Slept well.  No nap.  Carried trash outside.  Sorted boxes.   I worked pretty hard off & on.  Watched my soaps when they were on.  Nice for a change.

    Pretty good weather.  Our low was 68 & our high was 83.  There was heavy rain all morning west of here.  Lincoln KS ended up in a flood.  We got nothing.  😞

    I carried trash bags out to my trash bins.  Cinder was sleeping somewhere.  Who knows where.  I sat outside and it was thundering & light rain.  So pleasant.  I was too late for any great cloud photos.  😞  Maybe another day this week.  Nice while it lasted.

    I gathered boxes & had a huge pile of them.  Filled one trash bin & piled the rest between the bins.  Hope we get no strong winds or I might be sorry.  Or the trash guys will be.  But cleared some old ones away from my porch area.  I even have a chair to sit on now.  I am gaining.  Helps when my RA is behaving.

    Got my new license tag for my car.  KN came over & put in on my car.  He took my old tag to hang in his large shed so they can say "That was Julie-Ann's tag".  Nice.  My great nephew will like that.  And KN said he would help me anytime I ask.  He loves me and my $2o bills!!!  I might ask him when field work is over.  Plus KN & I are planning to eat out some evening at Tucsons.  I want their shrimp.

    I felt so tired tonight I thought maybe I should nap.  I just ended up with a very short rest.  Was enough I guess.  Trying to get out of the napping habit unless I truly need one.

    Next today is my spanish lesson.  They have gotten a bit easier.  I was gritting my teeth for a while!!!  😲

03 april, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    Had a quiet day.  Talked to no one.  Sat outside twice.  The first time was for a very long time with the fur kids.

    Today was the day to gather trash & haul out.  How exciting.  But all that had been gathered & all newly gathered is out in the trash bins.  That was all the energy I had.

    Sitting out there were many cows near & little ones.  It is so fun to watch the little calves run & play.

    Called about my AC.  They will be here thursday afternoon.  I am busy all week until then.  I will survive one hot day & then it cools off.

    Moisture coming from California again but like the other day it goes over us & to Missouri & south.  Will worry about JS again.  The other day there were 80 tornados total where the weather went.  Scary.

    Nico ruined my evening.  He refuses to mind & then gets upset with me & attacks.  No idea what to do about him.  No fun.

06 march, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    Today did not go as planned.  I slept pretty good.  But had to cancell the entire day & made this a Jammie Day!  My new med went to a full dose last week.  And I am now feeling it.  Having low blood sugar with it.  Today I lowed my insulin by a unit.  And my nausea is much worse.  It was hard finding something to eat for lunch.  I thought it was enough but it was not.  Supper went better but now it is not.

    I had a chiropractor appointment today.  Changed the day this week.  Could not go with a low sugar & a queasy stomach.  

    JR was going to come here to help me gather trash & more.  I cancelled him.  I managed to gather most of what needed to go out.  I had several bags already to go but with our strong winds I dared not put them out.  If one trash bin got tipped over the raccoons would have had a hay day!!  No strong winds today so be ok until morning.

    Nico & I took a nice nap.  Cinder was in at lunch time & never saw her until supper.  She is out now for a while.  She sure likes to nap in the house in the afternoons.  Kisse always lays close to Nico & I.

    Yesterday the weather high was 75F.  Today we hit 45F.  Much cooler.  Chance of rain for the next 3 days.  Probably dry here.  And where it is really needed has little chance also.

    My photos today are a cute one of Kisse this afternoon in her box.  The rest are to the day of how the farm looked one year ago.  What a change.  The young man in one photo is my nephew.

                        

09 January, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    Nice quiet day.  Slept fair.  Not much pain.  For a change.  I am aware that pain is a permanent part of my life & will only get worse.  Hate to think about it.  But it is my fate.

    Had a grocery order to pick up in Salina.  They are a joy to deal with.  Let me ok replacements for things there were out of instead of just giving me nothing.  And the ones bringing the sacks out are friendly & smile.

    I tried a short nap but could not sleep or turn my brain off.  But I had trash to load outside.  Did not get it all but enough since my back pain stopped me.

    The weather is so nice out.  Almost 60F outside.  I brought Nico out & Cinder was there.  They played, chased, rolled in the sun, snuggled.  What good friends they are.  Just nice to sit out.  I still want snow but a nice warm day is still ok.  Won't hear the opposite from the snow haters ever.

    Have my historical group minutes to write up.  We meet tomorrow.  I am have to bring food.  I hate doing that.  I like being part of things but hate to serve.  I no longer cook or bake.  I would pay someone to serve for me gladly.

10 october, 2022 Wandering & Capturing Moments

                                                                     

    Had a very good day!!  Slept good last night with very little pain.  Nice for a change.  Nico only barked only once.  A blessing!

    Nico & I sat outside this morning.  All of a sudden I heard someone talking!!  Yikes!!  It was my nephew's uncle in my shed.  He is there often!!  He was trying to control his dog & I had Nico who could not be quiet!!  A little early morning excitement!

    I picked up my brother to help with trash before my grandson is here tomorrow.  I had it all in bags.  He carried the bags out & then flattened boxes to add in the trash bins.

    After trash we drove up to Coronado Heights.  The road has been fixed & so has the top.  It was all good except on problem spot.  That was no good at all.  The top was great!  All smooth with no deep holes!  And a large monument that tipped in a large flood has been straightened.  Looks wonderful!

    Then I drove through the cemetery near there to see Willie & other relatives.  Need to put new flowers out when it is cooler & I am not busy.  Our great grandparents had a huge bouquet.  No idea who put it on there.  Very nice.  The usual ones who did that are now all dead or in a nursing home.  Others have never bothered.

    We went to the White Peacock for an early supper.  I was worried about my stomach after supper last night.  I settled on an Italian cream soda, a few chips, & a cranberry lemon muffin.  It was perfect.  Not everyone makes a good Italian soda but today it was yummy!!

    Near perfect weather today. Temps were 43F & 80F.  Some rain in southern Kansas.  We have a chance tomorrow evening.  Won't hold my breath.  Then cooler.  Good news.  We really need rain.  Wheat is being planted or is planted.  Won't be good without moisture.

    Photos today are all from the White Peacock.  Good to see them busy today.  I need to try harder to go there.  Time for hot chocolate!!
