Today's Name Day:  Asta, Astrid

    Today was not a total bad day.  Loved the rain & cold temps.  No snow here, of course.

    Started with lunch with LL at the White Peacock.  It was pretty quiet when I first got there but it picked up later.

    I was hoping to see a friend who eats there often but he never came in.  Not heard much from him, but others have.  Maybe busy.  Who knows??

    Today was a work day.  I feel like I will never get done with Folder S.  No special photos to share in Lindsborg Nostalgia.  There were several photos of family that were not so pleasant.  Family that does not get along.  Glad it was only photos!!  But there was a couple of a Swedish friend that spent time in town several years ago.  I am sending him copies!!!  He is a cool friend!!

    Supper was Mexican.  They were busy.  PR had his brother there from Nebraska.  I know a couple of his brothers but never met this one.  I think MA did not charge for our dessert.  Very nice of him.  I had a flan.  While leaving a friend from Swedish club came to say hello.  Sure was nice to see her.  Like her a lot!!

    Picked up some groceries.  Now home.  Time for Spanish lesson.  Easy this round.  So far!!

National Carbonated Beverage With Caffeine Day

Today's Name Day: Elisabet, Lisbet

    I had a good day.  Took half a sleeping pill around 3am.  Then I slept good.  Cinder stayed close most of the night,  Woke up to both of them near me.  I like.

    I managed to shampoo my hair.  Should have days ago but I did not feel good & did not care.  Looks good tonight!  And feels good,

    JR & I ate supper out.  The downtown area had NO parking places.  Saw there was something going on in the Sundstrom Building,  But we finally decided on trying Bella Sol Bistro.  It is beautiful inside.  Big improvement.  I recognized our waiter.  He used to work at the White Peacock.  He was always nice.  And he & JR have the same first name.  I took photos there & they are my photos tonight,  I can explain then what we had for supper.  Great food.  Will return for sure.

    After supper we got some groceries.  JR thought my fave dessert was not being sold anymore but he was wrong!!!  Whew!  They have large amounts of candies/pretzels/etc,  JR got me a sack of mixed candies,  Tasty.

    Stayed cool last night & today.  And colder is coming,  No rain until right before Thanksgiving,

    I have no idea what the cats are doing but I am scared to go look.  There is chasing involved.  And things falling,  Last night around 1am I went out on the porch to get something,  Cinder tried to escape when I came back in.  I yelled & blocked her leaving!!!  Yikes!!  I think I forgot to clean their litter pans & she wanted out,

    Stephen Colbert will be good tonight.  Guest is Bill Clinton.  He looks awesome!!!  Be a good interview,

                            

JR had Spaghetti Pomodoro served with crostinis.  I tasted it.  Yummy

My choice was Cheeseburger in Paradise with burrata cheese (like mozzarella) & with an egg on top.  Excellent.

04 july, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

 4th of July

    I did sleep good last night but have been beyond tired today.  Nice nap.  Spring fever???

    No plans for today.  Just home.  Really not in the mood to go see fire works or the towns old fashioned celebration.  Our celebration does not include fire works.  Been several years since we have had them.  Far too hot for me to be outside and bugs.  I saw 99F here.  Taking Nico out is awful.  At least he does not dally around.

    I never buy fireworks.  No little kids here.  Just me.  Would be silly for me to do that.

    Thought about going out to eat but that is just spending more money.  Spent enough yesterday.  And no energy.

    Some severe storms out to the west.  Will it get here?  Who knows.  Be ok with me.

    Nico had a moment of getting into things.  He finally quit.  I almost got the baby gate & put him in the hallway.

    Too quiet today.  No communication for me.  I guess everyone is busy with their own family & friends.  That leaves me out.

 National Stay Out of the Sun Day

    Slept good last night.  "Normal" life through medication.  Whatever it takes.  Up early today for a road trip.

    I was suddenly rudely awakened at 7am by Nico barking & viciously growling his head off.  And he kept on forever.  He finally stopped so we went out to potty & saw what he was upset about.  There were 2 huge light colored dogs in yard.  One ran away but the other stayed to look at us.  My yelling did not scare him.  He finally walked down the drive.  They both had collars on so they were not strays.  Neighbours??

    I met my friend LL & we went to McPherson for lunch.  We ate at 5 Loaves.  Very nice place.  The menu has lots of options.  I had a French Dip & fries.  It was excellent.  Must go back.

    After eating we went far south to the Andover area to look at 2 cemeteries.  LL recently found out she has ancestors buried in those places.  They are from Germany.  Beautiful Catholic churches.  And the one town had some cool buildings.  Must go back for photos.

    Then we drove home.  Very nice to travel to some new areas.  And nice to chat with someone.  And share ideas of things with each other.

    Weather got hot again.  I saw 95F in the car.  No rain today but maybe tomorrow.

    Tomorrow is a holiday here ----- the 4th of July.  No celebration for me.  Anyone we used to celebrate with are either not part of our circle or they have their own plans.  Our town has no fireworks this year.  Other places near here do but on different days.  I can miss them.  No biggie.
