Today's Name Day:  Stefan, Staffan

Known or related to several Stefans or Staffans.  Mostly in Sweden  Like this name.

    Today was my only day of Christmas & my last day of Christmas.  Not a bad day though.

    Our day ended with a meal at the Crown & Rye.  I got brave & tried the potatiskarv.  Very good.  I did not keep the cabbage on it but had fries instead.

   While eating one of the waitstaff came to talk with me.  She recognized me as being a good friend of her husband.  She made my day.  We have seen each other but not sure we have been introduced. She is very nice.  And I have known her husband since he was in high school.

    We always check the ice cream shop to see if they have any Old Mill Mint.  And they did!!!  I have a tiny dish of it.  Been too long!!  Very good!!

    JR put fuel in my car.  Nice that he does that so I can sit!!!

    Then I drove around town to see Christmas light.  Or Jul lights.  I took photos.  He did not but enjoyed seeing them.  I have one more to picture to capture on sunday.  Then I am done with Christmas.  Tired of it.  I think next year I send out one or two general photos & that is it.  Not a total of 100 or more.  New Years I am doing one or two greetings & then done.  Tired of it all.

    Seemed like fewer houses are decorated this year.  Maybe they are still out of town.  Sad.

    Was way too hot today.  The sun shining in my bedroom window made the bedroom 80F.  Yikes!!!  Turning on the AC did not help.  Got home & the house is ok,  Leaving the AC on all night tonight.  Refuse to suffer tomorrow.

    Have not eaten out with my group of 3 friends.  Too much sickness.  Down to start again in january.  Hope we all stay healthy.

    My phone sucks.  Not enough memory.  I take too many photos.  May have to get another one.  See if they can help me.

    Got my act together & paid my property taxes & water bill.  Must pay propane on monday.

Candlemas

Today's Name Day:  (no name today)

    Had a pretty good day.  Slept good with lots of cuddles.  Always good.  Did not get a nap today.  Too busy.

    I cleaned out my fridge last night.  Long overdue.  So I wanted to carry the heavy trash bag outside before the rain starts.  It cannot stay inside.  Too much old food.  Would not be pleasant.  And I had to strap the lid on the trash bin down.  Trust me the raccoons can tip a trash bin over & make one hell of a mess.  Only let that happen once!!

    Then I called JS for a video call.  I got a tour of his new house & all the many fish tanks they have.  Very large tanks.  Be fun to have one in my bedroom to look at in the dark.  Had a friend that had a salt water tank.  Awesome.  Those fish are just gorgeous!

    Then it took me a while to look human again.  I sort of succeeded!!  😊

    While doing my makeup I heard some large equipment outside.  Bless my heart it was KN fixing where I got stuck near my car port with rocks.  I feel so guilty but super thankful!  He put some on the west side of my circle drive & way down in my drive in a low spot.  And he needed rock near a couple of gates too.  I have my drive way back!!!  I went out & we chatted for a while.  And I had a huge bag of dog food I gave to him & some treats that Nico had.  

    God, I miss Nico.  He was always in our bedroom window waiting for me to get home.  I am going to print a large photo of him to put in the window & leave the light on when I am gone.  Comforting.  He & Paco are buried near each other.  I talk to both once in a while.  Our dog Jo is straight south of my house across the drive.

    Supper was at Crown & Rye.  I had my heart set on salmon with mustard sauce.  It is too die for.  The best.  Olive Garden has a great salmon also.

    We walked next door to Indigo Moo'd for ice cream.  Perfect.

    When I got home I remembered I forgot to clean the litter box.  Cinder was at the door ready to go out.  It is clean now.  Need to see if she wants in yet.

National Irish Coffee Day

Today's Name Day: Pål, Paul

    Had a fine day mostly.  No fatigue today.  I am glad.  No nap today.  But pain is increasing.  My left hand is awful..  Makes lifting or pouring or drinking.  Even using a roll on pain cream if difficult with my left hand.

    I was up early to get ready for lunch with LL.  We had Swedish pancakes at the Crown & Rye.  Excellent!  They are almost as good as the ones I used to make.  Had a good visit.  And a little gossip!! 😀

    I had an appointment this afternoon that I cancelled.  Hurting too much.  Worried about eating & then having a meeting.  Felt better just cancelling.  I asked to reschedule.  He usually does an entire year in advance, but did not this year.  Have I pissed him off?  Just what I need!!  Hope not.

    It was foggy this morning & drizzly.  My drive way is a muddy mess!!  So is the road by my  house.  My car is a mess.  Hate to be anywhere near it!!  Yuck!!

    The stupid mail person over filled my mail box & left the door open so my mail got wet.  Lazy.  No need to complain.  They would just get worse to me.

    Heard from MM early today.  They look a mess there in Iowa, but they are 10 degrees warmer!  He fell last night so was a bit sore.  Must be better today.

    Dirty old snow is ugly.  All the way to town the snow in the ditches is barely white.  Has large dark dirty patches.  Needs to just warm up & melt away.  Then I can wash my car!

    Parking in town is awful.  Combination of snow, slush, mud & sometimes deep water before getting to the curb.  Hard to get from my car to the side walk.  Did not dare wear any decent shoes but left my furry boots at home.  Not cold enough.

    Cinder has not gone outside yet today.  Odd.  I even offered her an open door.  Kisse curled up next to me for a long time this afternoon.  Cinder snuggled for a long time in bed last night.
