Wandering, 09 october 2021

    Today is Leif Erikson Day.  Beat Christopher Columbus here by many years.  And hurt no one.  I ignore Columbus day.

    Weather was not as bad as forecast.  Cloudy when I got up.  I think we got up to 90F but not 97F.  Slight chance of a shower tonight.  I wish.  Cool tomorrow!! Yay!  It was windy for a while but now looks calm.  Windy enough it tipped over a trash bin.  Have new ones. Bigger but not stable.  And no way to lock the lids shut.

    Today was the second day of our festival in town.  It is held to honour our Swedish ancestors.  I did not miss being there.  JS called me this morning and tried to talk me in to coming but I watched the parade and dancing on my computer.  Hopefully I will feel better for the next one.

    My blood sugar is totally out of control.  I have some new soda.  I wonder if that is part of the problem.  I have lab on tuesday.  It will be ugly but my diabetic dr and I have already talked about it.  Been too depressed to care.

    Photos today are from a road trip to Marion KS.  Nice town.  Ready to go back.  Their Gamboni's Pizza place is the best.  I see Salina has one but it won't be as nice.  Great pizza!!  There is an old hotel that is restored.  I want to stay there.  And they have a nice restaurant.

                        

Sheltering in Place, Mood Of Silence, Day 222......

 Really cold day. Got down to 39 with winds. High today in the mid 40s. Tonight might be around 30 Brrr. Blankets sure feel good!! 

JR and I went to supper at Jalisco's. Good to see all. MA and I had time for a long chat. That is rare. JS went home early. I had bought masks for him. So I did not make him pay and then I never gave him a tip. Even.

Just before we left JS's landlord and co-worker and his wife came in. Nice to see them. Good visit. He grew up next door to us. I worked for her parents at AW Rootbeer when I was in high school.
