Today's Name Day:  Anton, Tony

I do not like the name Anton.  Grew up with a pastor who was mean for no good reason to us kids.  Love the name Tony,  Have a sweet friend with that name.

    Before leaving the house today I got to the living room & my "fireplace" was on!!!!  One of the cats must have somehow did it.  Living room was toasty!

    Had a great day!  Met JR for lunch at Jalisco's.  They were busy.  JR & I had stuff to do concerning his upcoming photo showing next month.  Things are looking up right now.  I had some bills to pay & left them at home.  Dang.  They will keep.

    Then it was a work day for me.  I got the M-P family book all scanned.  There were several photos not secured in the book & got those all fixed.  Then I started on another book about a different branch of that family.  Forgot the initials.  Too new.

    Home for supper.  Walked from my car in the road to the mailbox to get mail..  Yuck.  Walked through some mud.  BUT.  Got up to my house & got brave & made the circle in my drive.  No problems!!  Now in the car is in the carport in the correct way.  See how brave the UPS guys are!!!!

    Cats did not like any food I left out.  Huh???  Have to replace now.  Maybe to lazy to eat & too busy napping.  Relaxing again now.

    The temp stayed around 39F all day.  Last night it was sort of warm also.  But later tonight the cold comes in.  I have all my water dripping.  Gonna be a really cold the next few days.  No chance at all for snow.  Still pretty deep in places,  

    I have several candles sitting near sofa.  When I get home they smell like heaven when I open the front door just from the warm air in the house.

National Blueberry Pancake Day

Today's Name Day:  Karl, Karla

    Well tonight has been a challenge!!  Got home from supper out & Cinder decided she needed to be on my lap no matter what!!  Thought I would do my Spanish lesson first as it is the shortest.  That was not true for me.  I would kind of shoosh her off  my lap & she would walk around the sofa & come back up on the arm rest & then my lap!!  I am a bit stressed!!  But lesson done!!

    Today was an ok day.  Up in the 50s.  Slept good last night.  Cinder went out early in the nice weather.  And stayed out until after my nap.

    JS  had told me to call him today.  I did after lunch.  But he was shopping & had a weak signal to me & would call me when he came home.  I did not bother him again in case he got busy.  I fell asleep.  And he never called.  I assume busy.  Try again another day.  He has been working on their house & gets no help.  It is all up to him.

    Supper was at Pizza Hut.  They were not busy.  Everyone must have had pizza in their homes during the big game.  I am not interested in sports but even I knew about this game.  Football..  Might watch the Super Bowl just for the commercials.  Not the game.  But I would kill to be in the town of the Super Bowl this year..  They are in Las Vegas!!  I would kill to go there again.  We actually were in Vegas one time for the Super Bowl.  During the game the casinos were dead.  All the tables were open but no one was gambling.  And it was exciting to see people who were in town for the game.  They were a wild bunch!!  But my team did not win that game.

    We had some ice cream bars after supper.  Good,

    Before pizza, I washed the mud balls off my car.  I hardly recognize it now!!!  I drove ever so slowly coming home.

    My stupid laptop was dead again.  Will try leaving it plugged in.  It only had 2% battery.  Sheesh.  Maybe I need to completely turn it off.  I hate windows products.

    We were foggy again this morning but no more this week.  I did not enjoy driving to town with the sun in my eyes.  I was enjoying the clouds.  Will be warm all week.

    MM texted me that he will be home next weekend & we must have lunch.  And so we will.  Whether in town or in Wichita I do not care.  I now have some free time & so far I have not used much of it.  Wanted to today but that did not happen.  Maybe I just take off on a saturday & go where I want.

This is in Colorado.  I went with my cousin & a club she belonged to.  She ordered yak to eat.  I tasted it.  Not bad.  Sort of like beef.  One of the waiters took this photos of me in the gold throne room.  Many years ago.

01/2024 Fredag the 26th -- Wandering & Capturing Moments

 Today's Name Day: Bodil, Boel

    Oh, lordy what an evening!!!  Sat down to write my blog.  My mouse would not work..  My PC would not come on.  Died.  Took forever to get enough juice for it to come on.  I did not want to try to blog on my iPhone or iPad.  Been there done that.  It is awful!  And Cinder decided she just  had to sit on my lap.  Finally she settled to sit next to me so I could do my Spanish lesson!  At least that went fast!!  Only made one error!  But here I am.  Finally.

    No National Day.  One is about your spouse.  Too sad to think about.

    Last night was not good either.  Both cats ran over me in bed all night until almost 5am.  At one time both were laying in bed with me.  I was worried since they don't always get along but all was ok.  I was awake until 5am.  I tried to nap after lunch but it was not the best nap.

    Picked up JR for supper.  We ate at Jalisco's.  Good food & even time to chat with MA.  He just got back from Mexico & gave me some candy from there.  Report on it later.

    We made a short stop for groceries.  I am not going to make it there until monday at the earliest.  I did not need much.  And they have some new food options.  JR found photos of the new areas.  Will go in to see what all they have.  One area of prepared food to cook.  Another are of prepared food to buy that is hot.  Cool!

    It is soooo muddy outside.  My car is a mess.  Got home & I have a circle drive.  It is mud.  It was soft but ok.  Got almost to my carport & I sunk.  And then I sat there.  I could not move.  But I sure tried.  FINALLY I got on the cement.  Will park elsewhere tomorrow.  What a mess.  Almost had to call my nephew!!!  I might go through the car wash if the car looks too awful.  Will go to work early.

    Heard from both grandsons & their loved ones.  MM could not work today.  Too rainy.  Wish he could find somewhere here.  I miss him so much.  CF is always far away.  Has never been close.  His sister just got another job & is getting ready for some training.  I need to see her more often.

    Cinder is acting odd.  Not been outside for 2 entire days.  Wonder why??  I offered her to go yesterday twice & she just looked at me.  I wonder if something scared her outside.  Or has she been looking for Nico & has now given up.  Glad she stays in.  It would kill me if I lost her.  Or Kisse.

    LL wrote & we are making plans for a day of going somewhere.  Fun!!!

This is the domkyrka in Kalmar.  I lived in that town for a week or longer.  Went to church there on two separate days.  It is awesome.

    

Karlstad Sweden.  Stayed there for a week.  My hotel had once been a jail.  In the basement were a couple of cells, etc.  A friend walked by the jail when going to school.  The prisoners would wave at the kids.

Ice hotel in far north Sweden.  Wish I had been there.

20 november, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    

    Today was a fun day.  Nice to have a good day!!!  My fave kind of weather ---- cool, calm, foggy, rainy.   Perfect.

    I was up early to get dressed & run to Salina to pick up groceries. Then back home to feed & potty the fur kids.

    I drove to Lindsborg on the country roads.  I am done with them.   The dust was scary after dark & today was muddy.   I saw where one car went in the ditch.  And the maintainer man was blading the road ---- in the rain.   Huh???  Went home by the highway.   And you should see my car!!   It is a sheet of mud.  Awful.  I got fuel & prayed I did not touch the car with my sweater!

    I met my friend from work for lunch at the White Peacock.  Great food & good conversation.  I am not working this week & she is not at work so I could not work any way.

    Back home briefly to take care of the kids.   Then back to Lindsborg for supper at Jalisco's with JR.  Good food.   And time to visit with a couple of workers.   After eating I went home on the highway.

    It started raining a day ago.   And been wet ever since ---- from drizzle to fog to rain.   I love it!!!  We had maybe two thirds inch of rain so far.  Will end tonight.   They had snow forecast the week after Thanksgiving.  Then they took it out.  Maybe back in again.  Too far in the future to be correct.
