Today's Name Day:  Herman, Hermine

Knew a Herman.  Very nice guy.  Friends with his son most of my life.

    Another quiet day at home.  I planned to work at the Old Mill but had severe back pain & trouble walking.  Stupid weather.  Hate not to be there. A second home.  Like the SVAFC.

    I slept good until I had to get up.  I would have crawled if I could have.  I have one friend who checks on me daily.  And she did.  Then she offers support & nice graphics.  Very nice.  Makes my day!!!  MM & I texted a bit.  Remembered I forgot to tell him I checked graves at the cemetery a couple of days ago. Will tell him later tonight.

    I miss LL being out of town.  I won't bother her.  Her entire family is together this weekend.  Good for them all.  Wish I had family to be with.  I sent a birthday card to my grand daughter.  I doubt she will make a comment to me.  It is what it is.

    Better weather.  Much cooler.  Rain was in the area but nothing here that I know of.  Our high was in the 70-80s.  Heaven.  Won't last.  Warmer tomorrow.  😞

    I was a outside for a short time to get mail off my porch.  Felt ok but came right back in.  Always afraid of mosquitos.  Awful.  I am scared of getting whatever they are carryong this year.

    Got a notice from my one bank about a questionable transaction.  Could not find it in my bank app.  Turned it is as not mine.  Can get a new credit card on monday.  Small transaction.  Bank was on the ball.

    Lots of sleep today.  Needed it.

    Got a new iPhone watch band.  Trouble getting it to fit like I want.  Maybe today it is ok.  Don't want it too tight.  Really like it though.  Brand is Solace.

04/2025 Lördag the 05th - Wandering & Capturing Moments

 

Today's Name Day:  Irene, Irja

Irene is a special name to me.  Had two relatives named Irene.  Married to different men with the same last name!!

    I wrote no blog yesterday.  Had a really long day.  But a good day.

    Last night I went to a great jazz concert by the Draper Family Band.  Music themes were Turkish, Moroccan, Egyptian, Spanish, Greek.  And awesome Turkish music in 9/8 rhythm.  We learned how to clap to the rhythm.  Fun!!!

The guitarist they had is the best in the USA & has toured here & all over Europe.  The cellist is from Turkey & is wanted all over to play.  And they did a couple of songs she composed.  It was just a wonderful experience.

    Today after sleeping good I got up & got ready to go to work.  I ate lunch as normal with no odd foods.  I was dressed & ready to go to the car & I got very ill.  Hoping it is just my touchy tummy & not the flu. 😰 So far supper is sort of ok but no appetite.  See how the night goes.

    I slept all afternoon today.  Supper was light & so far I am mostly ok.  I am sick & tired of being sick & tired.

    I got home last night & Coco was by my fence.  After my nap both Coco & Larry were by my fence.  Our llamas!!

    Very sad for the US.  Lithuanians paid our soldiers who died in a training accident a parade..  Their president & wife were part of the large crowd honouring them.  What did our "president" do when their bodies arrived in the US??  He attended a golf match with an Arab leader.  I am ashamed. 😞

    We had rain yesterday then it moved out.  But going in to the concert it was misting.  Came out to go home & it had rained,  Not amounting to  much but it all helps.  I had a whopping 0.20".

    TV sucks tonight.  Listening to a Rachel Maddow rerun.  Better than network shows I won't watch & don't enjoy.

21 January, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    Started to snow early this morning.  Has snowed most of the day.  It is lovely snow.  Often the snowflakes are very large!!  Magical.  One of my favorite words is snowflake in Swedish.  Snöflinga.

    I got up early to get ready for work.  Really

worried about driving on slick roads.  My boss called & arranged for someone else to work.  Relief.  Tomorrow should be ok.  I hope!  Might be some wind later.

    Was a quiet day & too alone.  My mind started working overtime.  Wish life could be just ok  And not so alone.  But is soon to be worse.  Must adjust.  And find a way to turn my thoughts off.

    Today I have binged watched Ghosts.  I love that show.  Fun!  Not watched an episode this season, but  should be caught up today.  On my DVR I can choose to skip ads.  Makes the episodes short!!  Love it!

    Finally. Saturday Night Life returns tonight.  All the stuff going on in Washington should make for an interesting & funny!!

13 july, 2022 Wandering

    I got not one minute of sleep last night.  I ended up not going to work.  I feel so guilty.  I love being there.  I tried to nap around 1pm but was not good.  I fitfully slept.  But severe back pain all night & day.  Seems like it is always something.

    JR, PM, & I met for supper.  I felt groggy but good to see people.  PM & I talked about all sorts of tiny towns & where they are.  Then another friend joined us & we talked about people & things around high school.  Good memories.  Before we left my neighbours came in so I talked with them a little.  Had a pleasant evening.  Now to catch up with evening things

    Got into the 90s today but last night it was in the  60s.  Sweet!  Sat out with Nico twice.  He loved the sun & cool breeze.

    Just tired of being tired.  No clue what to do.  I take meds for sleep.  Why do they not work?  Tired & frustrated.

Wandering Through Life, 1 September 2021

    My day did not start so good.  Even after taking a pill for sleep I never got any sleep until 10am.  I called in absent for work.  I managed a couple hours after lunch.  Why?  Drives me crazy.

    Another fairly warm day.  Around 90F but did not feel too bad.  And a nice breeze.  Rain?  Probably not.  Maybe in a couple of days.  But hopefully cooler days are ahead.  Glad summer is leaving.  It is the worst for me.  But the heat lovers do not care.  They make sure I know it.

    I ate with my brother and friend PM.  Good conversation.  PM knows so much about the history of the college.  Interesting.  My friend NM was resting in my booth. I threatened to sit on him!!  He moved quickly at the thought!  He is fun.  I had not seen the one cook for a while so I said hello to him.  And JS was as ornery as usual.  He is always good to me.  And makes me laugh.

    Asked JS if he knew how to fix cactus —- nopales I think is the Spanish word.  He loves it.  I might try it.  Might.  He said if you chop up the nopales and fry it and then mix it in frijoles and serve it to a Mexican man, he is yours forever.  Ok.  Should I try??
