Family Day

    The photos in this collage were all taken today, except of course Nico.  The minute I got home Cinder came to lay on me purring & rubbing me with her paw.  Kisse was taken this morning when I woke up.  There are no words to say how much I miss Nico,  The pain never leaves me.

Today's Name Day: Rosa, Rosita

    Had a good & busy day.  Nice to be out & about.  Need to just go alone even if no one wants to go with me.  The open road is healing, whether early or late.

    I was up a bit early to do my hair & makeup.  And eat lunch early.  Cinder went out & back in before the heat hit.  Or stormy weather.

    Severe stormy weather west of Wichita & in Wichita all tonight around supper time here.  High winds with limbs falling down. Heavy rain & flooding.  Loss of electricity.  Traffic lights not working.  Calmer therev now.  Maybe severe storms here late tonight as storms move into Kansas from Colorado.

    I had a doctor's appointent in Hutchinson with my diabetic doctor.  After being gone for months he is finally back,  I prefer his PA.  She is super nice & acts like she cares.

     My one med is almost twice the cost than it was.  Up to $500 a month.  😱  That is awful.  They think it will go back down since this was probably the new year for my meds.  One would hope.  My PA , Sara, got paper work to get me cheaper meds.  Nice.  No other doctor has cared.  Or tried.  And starting me on a new drug to see if it helps my feet.  I feel better.  Nice when someone cares.  I know too many who do not care about me at all.  I get tired of being left out & ignored.  Especially just recently.  Not just left out & ignored, but nthen laughed at when actions hurt me.

    Driving to Hutch & back it rained every so often.  Not for long & not much.  The temp was at 99F or down to 88F in rain.  Really felt miserable out.

    The last time I was to that office it was really painful to walk from the car to the building to the office.  But using a cane is a life saver.  No pain at all.  Awesome.  Nice that life is a bit easier.

    On the way home I stopped in McPherson at Arby's to get something for supper.  Then I took a spin through the Lakeside Park & by the swimming pool.  Thank god I did not drive there a year ago.  I would have seen a large gathering of my family members that I did not know  were here for several days in McPherson & in Lindsborg.  What a shock.  If I had seen them I would have wrecked my car!!  I just recently found out they all gathered & did not include me. Or even tell me about their trip here.  Just made sure I saw photos from their time here.  And when I told them my feelings were hurt, I got laughed at.

    When I got home Cinder came to lay on my chest just for attention.  I think she missed me.  She is the best.

    I got the cutest photo of my nephew & great nephew.  I saved it, of course.  Nice that I am included sometimes.  Thanks to my daughter, she created some family difficulties there so I can not get included in holidays, etc.  I understand.  It is ok.  I manage to survive.

    Changing weather & I have increased pain.  Hurts to drive ---- sore hands & a sore leg.  I have adjusted in some way.  I rarely use pain cream anymore.  I have to really have bad pain.

April Fools Day

Today's Name Day: Harold, Hervor

    Had a good day.  Slept  pretty good.  Up early to get ready for lunch out.  Cats looked at me like I was crazy.  And getting dressed!!  They both stayed where they were sleeping.

    Had lunch with LL.  I got to ride in her new car.  Very nice.  I sort of want one but do not need one.

    We had lunch in Galva KS.  A nice restaurant that has home cooking.  Sad I had no appetite today.  I think I am taking my shot again & that it has really killed my appetite.  That is ok I guess.  And today I had my hot beef sandwich.  Usually so good but today the potatoes tasted fake, not like real potatoes.

    I checked my blood sugar after eating & it was sort of high.  Not too high so I ate enough.  And tonight I noticed that my pulse is slow for me.  Why??  It is normal for it to vary.

    When I got home Cinder wanted out.  But she came back in soon to nap like normal.

    Our big chances for rain or snow has vanished.  Of course.  One of my weather apps shows we get some rain later tonight, but I think they are wrong.

    Totally forgot today is trash day.  Have next to nothing to take out.  So it can wait.  I was too tired anyway.

    Photos are mostly taken today.  Flowers or weeds, one cow, etc.  And my Easter flowers.

                                

03 july, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

 National Stay Out of the Sun Day

    Slept good last night.  "Normal" life through medication.  Whatever it takes.  Up early today for a road trip.

    I was suddenly rudely awakened at 7am by Nico barking & viciously growling his head off.  And he kept on forever.  He finally stopped so we went out to potty & saw what he was upset about.  There were 2 huge light colored dogs in yard.  One ran away but the other stayed to look at us.  My yelling did not scare him.  He finally walked down the drive.  They both had collars on so they were not strays.  Neighbours??

    I met my friend LL & we went to McPherson for lunch.  We ate at 5 Loaves.  Very nice place.  The menu has lots of options.  I had a French Dip & fries.  It was excellent.  Must go back.

    After eating we went far south to the Andover area to look at 2 cemeteries.  LL recently found out she has ancestors buried in those places.  They are from Germany.  Beautiful Catholic churches.  And the one town had some cool buildings.  Must go back for photos.

    Then we drove home.  Very nice to travel to some new areas.  And nice to chat with someone.  And share ideas of things with each other.

    Weather got hot again.  I saw 95F in the car.  No rain today but maybe tomorrow.

    Tomorrow is a holiday here ----- the 4th of July.  No celebration for me.  Anyone we used to celebrate with are either not part of our circle or they have their own plans.  Our town has no fireworks this year.  Other places near here do but on different days.  I can miss them.  No biggie.

27 march, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    Had a fun day.  My friend LL & I made a road trip for lunch & to buy products for the Old Mill gift shop.

    We drove to Moundridge KS. with plans to have pizza in a new place called The Hub.  But.  Unknown to us, the kitchen is not open on Sunday & Monday.  Then it is just a coffee shop.  Looks great but no pizza.

    We walked down the block to a place called El Paso, a Mexican restaurant.  Their menu is the size of a book!  With my touchy tummy I chose small.  Want to return when I am driving & can feel bad if needed.  They were super busy.  The service was not as good as it should have been.  Food was good.

    Then we drove just outside of town to a retirement village.  Really nice homes.  The lady we met was very nice.  She had boxes of wheat weaving things.  Wow!!  I cannot imagine making them all!!  LL picked out the ones she wants for our festival called Mill Fest.  During that time the Mill is turned on but no wheat goes through it.  Too much work to clean up.  It is about 3 stories & a basement.  People can tour whether it is running or not.  No children allowed in when running.  Too dangerous.  We will be back for more wheat weavings that are Christmas themed later.

    I plan a road trip back to Moundridge myself.  There are 2 museums, great old buildings, & a wonderful old church.  Lots of photos to take!!!

    I got a short nap at home but Nico was a terror tonight.  He was in to everything after supper.  Weather?  He would not listen at all.

    On sundays on CNN at 9pm there is a new show about Mexico.  I think it stars Eva Longoria.  She lives in Mexico City.  It was so interesting.  I am a picky eater, but there were several dishes I would try.  Interesting.

20 february, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    I had a great day!!  I was up early so I could reschedule my chiropractic app't.  Then I was getting ready for a road trip.  My boss & friend went to Yoder Kansas for lunch at the Carriage Crossing.  Yoder is an Amish community.  Many people only travel by horse drawn carriage.  The Carriage Crossing has the best food & the pies are to die for.  I had a hot beef sandwich but no pie.  )-:  I did buy some bread & a huge cinnamon roll for home.  

    After lunch we went to a farm to buy some hand made things for the Old Mill gift shop.  Cool things --- trivets, candles, & coasters.  We met in their garage.  There were 3 carriages in there.  So cool.

    On the way home we drove through the Dillon Nature Center, the Sand Hills State Park, & then Inman KS.  A good day.  Hope we can do this again.  Got to think of a cool place to go eat!

    Tonite JR & I ate at Jalisco's.  A quiet night there.  Good to see everyone.  I needed some groceries & so did JR so he got for both of us.  

    I needed to take trash out but I just cannot do it.  I hurt most of the weekend & tonight is no better.  It will keep until the next time.  I do what I can.  "I ran out of spoons today"

22 september, 2022 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    What an awesome night! Coooool temps ---- 52F.   Heaven.  I added a second blanket & took out a winter nightgown.  We had gentle rain most of the night.  And what a surprise to find 1.25 inches in my rain gauge.  Perfect!  Tomorrow we heat back up to the 80s & stay there for a while.  Not bad.

    I thought my turkey vultures were gone but there was one taking a break on my light pole this late  afternoon.  Should be leaving soon.

    Had a calm day with no drama.  Had an app't in Salina today.  It went well.  Then a quick stop at Jim's Chicken for food for supper.  Great chicken.  Drove home through Shilling, former air base.  Lots of construction there.  Wonder what it all is?

    Sat out for a while after supper so Nico & Cinder could play & visit.  Nice out but got chilled.  Feeling ok so we should have went for a walk.  I do not feel good too often.

    Sure missed working this week.  Love being there.  Next week.
