Sad Remembrance

    A very quiet day.  I have little to say.  I refuse to whine to others.  I am whining inside.  And wanting what I cannot have & will never have.  Just feeling sorry for me.  Very glad the flu was short lived.

    Good weather today but the heat is on the way.  Ugh.

 International Beer Day

    What a busy week!!  In the last week I have worked 4 days!  All fun ones!

    I slept pretty good last night.  Especially since we had a thunderstorm.  Great sleeping in the rain, thunder, & lightning.  Might be the same tonight.

    I worked at SVAFC today.  New art was up.  I loved it all!  One artist but several different styles.  Enjoyable.

    A visiter came in & stayed for at least an hour.  Great conversation.  Talked about old high school gossip, local people, stores, more gossip, etc.  Best of all we remembered that his mother was close to my 2 Denver aunts & a cousin in Oklahoma.  They all went to school together.  And for all their lives they wrote a round robin letter.  When they all got old they could not but still knew what was what in the others lives.  When my one aunt died, I knew I had to my friend's mother.  She had to know.  She cried.  I cried.  I enjoyed our visit so much today.  Wish we were closer friends.

    Before work the lady who was to unlock for me got busy.  I sat outside for a bit.  It was amazing that all those who walked by I did not know.  But we all greeted each other & chatted.  There are people I know in town who would not do that.  I think when I feel unloved, I will just go sit on that bench for a while.  Will renew my spirit in people.

    I was a bit late getting home.  I was scared that Nico had pottied somewhere inside.  He had not.  Had not even drank much.  All 3 fur kids must have just vegged out all day!  Cinder finally went out when I got home tonight.

    Supper was in McPherson at Dairy Queen with JR.  Had burgers & malts.  Hit the spot!!  

    JR just sent an article about how healthy malt is.  It is sprouted barley that unlocks enzymes.  Can be further processed to be liquid or powder.  It is healthy.  It helps athletes recover, causes happiness (well duh!), & has antioxidents.  And more.  More malts in my future.

    Gas in Lindsborg was $3.55.  In McPherson it was $3.25.  I filled up.  Easy to drive there.

    Last night I shoved my thumb into part of the car port.  With lots of force.  My fingernail broke down to the skin.  Really sore today.  YIkes!

 National Ice Cream Sandwich Day

    Slept good & up early.  Morning went well.  Gotta watch half of my one soap opera.  In Mexico they are called novelas.

    Worked at the Old Mill today.  It was a good day.  The new scanner had a small glitch today.  Only sometimes, but I found a work around.  Easy.  We worked but had some laughs.  I love being there.

    Had a very short rain shower early this morning.  Very short  But the clouds all morning kept the temp down to 97F.  Felt ok today.

    I had a surprisingly good day today.  I have had really bad pain for a week at least.  Hard to turn in bed.  I slather on tons of pain killing lotion.  But today I walked normal, walked up & down the basement steps like a normal person.  No lotion.  Amazing.  I told no one.  What I do or don't do seems not to matter.  But I am happy.  Hope it lasts a while.

    Supper was at Jalisco's.  I splurged & had carne asada.  I usually do not feel good enough to eat that but today I did.  Love steak.  And we ended up our meal with a snow cone.

    I had to be at my bank this noon before work.  I had extra time so I washed the car.  Looks better.  Feels better.

    Nico's collar is new & too large.  So even if it is tightened, it loosens.  I ordered a new one.  Still too large!  Ordered an XS one.  Comes on saturday.  He slipped out of it after work.  He came back pretty fast.  Hope the new one coming fits.  Maybe I should put his old one on for now.

    August is here.  Brings nothing but heat.  Almost 106 here now.  I have nothing to say about today so I am doing something different.  Posting photos of places I have visited in Sweden.  And will explain each of them.

                    

This is a museum of singer Lill-Babs from Järvsö.  She was well known in Sweden & Europe.  She never was successful in the US.  The day I visited there, she walked in!  I got to meet her!  Sweet lady.  She has since passed away.

Here is the church in Järvsö.  It is the largest stone church in a city of this size.  I got to go behind the altar & see some of their things.  Several wedding crowns.  One large place with the gorgeous robes the priests wore when the church was Catholic.  I got to touch one that was 600 years old.  It was an honor to attend church there that day.

Here is Marstrand, an island.  No traffic on the streets.  It is my favorite place.  Peaceful.  I was visiting a friend there but think I was just in the way.  Made me sad.  Wish I could return there again.

Gorgeous cathedral in Kalmar.  I stayed in an apartment there.  I went to church every morning.  Just a short service with an organ & someone singing.  Then across the street was a bakery where I had some great treats after church.  Love it there.

This is the castle (slott) in Kalmar.  We made a quick trip through it.  I wish I had gone through it on a tour.  Great castle!

This collage is of Malmö.  I visited the tall building called the Turning Torso.  Amazing to see.  You can only go in it if you live there or have an office there.  Dang.

  

The bridge is the Öresund Bridge that goes from Malmö & Copenhagen.  It starts as a bridge.  Cars drive on the top level & trains on the lower level.  Then they both go under the water.  And come back up to cross a man made island & then in to Copenhagen.  I got to drive on it.  Quite amazing.  Toured a little of Danmark before going back to Sweden on a ferry.  It was a huge ship to me!!  And named after one of my ancestors!  That was amazing!

31 july, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    Weatherwise, a better day.  We were cloudy most of the day.  Our temp was in the 90s.  Later with sun I saw 101.  Not for long. 

    I actually slept fairly good last night.  Surprising!  I was up early though.

    Lunch today was at Jalisco's.  I am starting a new habit.  Mondays are quiet & MA has time to chat a while.  Monday lunch is every week.  And it is my goal to eat & do things alone more often.  May eat out on thursday too.  See how the day goes.  It was quiet today.  Got a hug from LA.  She is planning to move.  I hate losing people I really like.  She really helps my spanish.  Seems like I always lose the ones I love.  And then alone or more alone again.  Hard to find anyone who cares.  Got laughed at once when someone hurt me.  I took a nap that felt good.  Cinder was in all night & while I was at lunch.  Then she went out.  On the porch now.

    I get groceries & stuff from Amazon but the boxes just sit.  Well.  Today I pitched a bunch of them..  JR is coming out end of the week to help me flatten them.  I do not mind setting out a few by the trash but there are too many.  Or I will set them out in dribs & drabs.  No wonder the house is so crowded!!  I am a bad housekeeper even when I feel good.  And no one here but me so I get no help or support.

    MA's brother was working today.  He is a challenge to my spanish.  Most of the help they have had ask me what I was to drink in the same way & if I am done with my plate.  He uses different words.  I know what he means but I want to the words.  I did know the word for drink.  I can learn.  My lessons are better.  I can read most of the questions without help.  Gives me hope.

 International Day of Friendship 

    A long night and no sleep.  Only a couple of hours.  And I could not find my power drink.  Maybe they are all gone.  Gonna hurt later.    

    Up early for working again.  I was worried about how tired I am.  And boy was I right!  Not many visitors.  And I was constantly nodding off.  So painful.  Luckily I got to go home a bit early.  Jay rode with to carry a box of trash away for me.  I was so relieved he did that!!!

    We ate at Pizza Hut & LA joined us.  I did pretty well with my spanish with her.  I maybe cannot do a real sentence, but she understood me!!  And we laughed so hard.  Great we understand each other so well.  It was a great supper.

    Cinder went out middle of last night.  I never saw her today.  I was so worried about her.  But after supper there she was sitting on the porch.  What a relief.

    Trying to plan my week.  Too many things & not enough time.  Sigh.

    I struggled to sleep last night.  Took a pill & nothing.  Finally after 5am I slept but up early to get ready for work.  A power drink for lunch helped.

    All three kids were in this morning & stayed even though it was cooler today.  Only in the 90s.  Actually nice early today. 

    I worked at the SVAFC today.  I never even walked around to see all the photos.  (Severe hip pain made walking difficult.  Hard to sleep last night.  Turning was near impossible.)  Not super busy but had several people in.  When I got there no one came to unlock for me.  A first!!  I had to call for help.  JR came to see me late in my shift.

    I called MA for carry out at Jalisco's.  He was gone in Mexico for a week so was nice to see him.  And I got to meet his brother, JA.  He seems really nice.  I will enjoy getting to know him.

    It was awesome to see all the friends & families gatherings for fun times today.  Just great to watch & dream.  Even a huge group at a pool  party.  Lucky them.

    Photos today are some I played with.  Had a tutorial in my memories today.  I changed it how I did it but still liked it.  How I spent my afternoon.  That is as fun as life gets for me.
