National Day of the Cowboy

I am not a particular fan of western stuff but this photos reminds me of Utah.  Love the land there.  Would love to return.

Today's Name Day: Marta

    A nice day at home.  No plans plus I slept pretty good & had a nice nap.  Both cats were lazy & did not wake me up early.

    I had things I wanted to do but no energy.  And too much pain.  So I rested.

    MM wrote to me & said he bring me supper tonight.  He works at the American Legion.  Last night they had a Swedish meal.  I really wanted to go but was afraid I would end up going alone & sitting alone.  I am not a member & not really friends with anyone who is.  But he brought me food from there.  Excellent.  Swedish meatballs, potatis skorv, potatoes, green beans.  I added a pudding cup.  And lingonberries on the meat balls,  Excellent meal!!

    MM & I had a long texting session last night.  We were honest & open with each other.  I treasure moments like that.  I am so grateful he lives close,  Not many people I can depend on but he is one.

    Weather was ok today.  Saw 93F for our high.  Last nice day for a week.  Tuesday & Wednesday are to be 110F.  Yikes!!  I am more than ready for autumn.

    When MM called & said he would be here soon, I went outside to sit with Cinder.  I know how much she misses Cinder to be with.  So she stayed close to me. I gave her lots of petting & she gave it back.  She climbed & ran.  And stretched out.  I took photos the entire time.  Those are my photos tonight

    While sitting outside a deer came running from the north, across my driveway, & south to our pond.  I was hoping it would come back but never did.  I got no photo.  Usually there is a couple together.  He was not too big,  And while out a turkey vulture flew over Cinder & I.  Huge shadow!!!  Probably hoping we were dying!!!  What a buffet for them!

Seasonal Affective Disorder

I have had this for many years.  And people close to me are clueless.  And I have been made fun of about how I feel or act.  It is not funny to me.  It is very frustrating.  People tend to think this only applies to people who cannot tolerate  winter.  They are so wrong.  Most people I know won't read or care how I feel.  I shared on my FB too.  I am sure it is a wasted effort.

Today's Name Day: David, Salomon

    I never got my blog wrote yesterday.  I hurt too bad & was too depressed.  I think I thought about it but that was as far as I got.

    I never got any trash carried out either.  Too depressed.  Just did not care.  I only had two trash bags to carry out.  No biggie.  One bin had blown over.  They did stand it up but did not close the lid.  That would have been asking too much.  People just don't care any more.

    Saw my eye doctor today.  Just for a test.  A boring test.  And I had glasses with new lenses to pick up.  None my new lenses fit right.  Hard to see correctly.  I might have to have them all redone.  The one girl who helped me was awful.  Then I had a bill for today's glasses.  But the girl told me I owed nothing.  I was thrilled.  I got a few blocks away & they called & said I did owe.  Why it was not showing  on the computer is beyond me.  Will call them tomorrow & pay over the phone.

    On they way home I saw  104F in my car.  Awful.  And tonight my AC is not quite keeping up.  Damn.  Living room is not too bad but by my bedroom is not good.  Hope it catches up by bedtime.  Last night it stayed in the 80s outside.  Far too warm for sleep.

    Tried to watch a country music show on the TV but just cannot stand it.  Turned it off.  Just not my kind of music.  Years ago it was but no more.

    Managed a short nap & Cinder laid on my chest.  Always nice.

    I had a strange occurance this afternoon.  I got in the car to go to the eye doctor.  A mother deer came running out of my pasture followed by a small baby deer.  They had been at our pond for a drink.  Left my yard & was on the way to the highway I take to Salina.  Ahead of me I see another mother deer followed by a tiny baby deer running across the road.. Odd.  Certainly not the same pair. Too far apart.  Kind of cool.

    When I got home I had to help a good friend.  Easy favor to do for him,  Always like to help.  And nice to see him & get a hug.

    Pictures tonight are cozy ones of autumn & winter.  Make me feel better.  Every day it is getting closer.

National Sandwich Day

Today's Name Day is Hubert

    Had a pretty good day.  Slept good.  Watched the cattle sitting near my front yard.  They were all calm.  No sun on the pond though.  The bulls were near my yard also.

    Nico was pretty good today.  We had a short nap.

    I was scheduled to work tomorrow on the 4th at the SVAFC.  But then I was a told they would not be open for some reason.  But today I got a call to work anyway.  There is no show there but people may be bringing in their art for our Christmas sale later.  Will bring my iPad as I have magazines & books on it.  Might be a long afternoon!

    Had supper with my boss & friend LL.  I picked up food at Pizza Hut & we ate on her deck.  It was so nice out.  Nice relaxing time.  But did get cool so we went in to chat.  I was craving Pizza Hut French fries so that was my food.  They are the best!!!

    When I got home tonight there was a deer standing in my back yard.  Very cool.  I got a photo but the camera flashed & I worked to fix that.  We stared at each other until he walked away.  I had a brief moment to get a photo.  Wish I had had more time!

    Nice day.  Slept well.  Nico must sense the weather is going to get cold.  When I rested this afternoon he stayed under the covers the entire time.

    We sat out for a while before I left for supper.  He & Cinder had time to say Hello & interact.  They are cute together.  While out, I saw our 2 deer headed to the pond.  They are so sweet looking.  Nice to give Cinder some attention also.

    Supper with JR at Jalisco's.  They were quiet when we got there then it got busier.  I guess this morning they were really busy.  Got to talk to all the kitchen help.  When we got there was one of my favorite artists.  I got to chat a bit with him.  On our way out was another favorite artist.  We got to visit also.  Her son had been here from another state but I missed seeing him.  But we are on FB & chat.

    I called my propane supplier to see if they can fix my heater so it gets propane to it.  They did it last november.  Getting cold & might need a little heat.  They even have said it might get down to 29F or so.  That might be a sofa night if I have no heat.  We were in the 80s today.  Pleasant outside with a nice breeze.  My oak tree is really losing leaves!!!  And the acorns are dropping fast!  One hit my carport roof & it sounded like someone shot at us!!!

    I got photos of the bulls today.  Content & grazing.

01 october, 2022 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    My day was pretty good.  But, oh, what a night I had!!!

    Went to bed like normal.  Both of my upper arms & shoulders occasionally ache.  RA doc thinks it has something to do with my rotator cuff.  Last night my left arm went from an ache to bad pain.  I could do nothing with that arm.

    Then Nico started barking for over 30 minutes.  As visicious as he sounded I assumed we had a lion in the yard.  This happened a couple of times.  Very early morning Nico wanted to go out.  I barely got the door opened & Nico lurched violently to go off the porch & I lost my grip on his leash.  We had 2 deer in the pasture & he was gone.  I was scared his leash would get caught on something & he could not get home.  Cinder was with me & we both were looking in the same direction.  And, of course, he never listens to me so coming back home was not an option.  The deer came back to watch me yell.  Curious about me.  Then Nico appeared in the drive way but never came near the house.  He has a path he takes when outside without a leash.  So I fed both cats while waiting for him to return.  But no Nico for a long time.  I saw a beautiful sunrise.  Then I noticed him standing at the back of the house.  He was caught on something.  On the way back to him I saw a white feather.  That means that an angel was near.  Grateful.  His leash was caught on 2 tall dead weeds whose stems were like trees.  Got him untangled & in we went.  I was freezing & grabbed a third blanket.  Finally slept a little.

    Calm day after that runaway episode.  Went out just before supper time.  Gorgeous outside.  Pleasant temps & a nice breeze.  No bugs.  Cinder joined us.  I took lots of photos of the two of them.  A very nice relaxing time.  Needed some outside time.  Stayed out a long time.

    No texts or emails or calls.  People who have families & friends forget about those who don't.  My life now.

    My blood sugar is no better.  Why??  Might increase my doses on monday or tuesday.

Sheltering in Place, Mood Of Silence, Day 315......

 Very quiet day. Catching up on sleep. Feel much better today.

Well, our 8-12 inches of snow turned to rain and ice. All the snow haters can thank me. I rarely get what I want. I told people yesterday we probably would get no snow. Glad I could make everyone happy. Now if someone would make me happy. HA.

Just outside. Now it is snowing. Where did that come from. All the weather went to the NE.

In the 30's last night and today. Supposed to be windy, that failed too. More snow tomorrow. HA. Warm weekend. They always get that correct.

Saw no one but texted with JS and a friend in Brazil. Nice.

Saw 4 deer last night late. Cool.
