08/2025 - Jueves the 28th - JOURNEY

Today's Name Day:  Fatima, Leila

Pretty good day.  Slept good when I finally fell asleep.  Had a thunderstorm around 3am.  Had some thunder & lightning.  I got a total of 0.68".  More than usual.  Nice.  Today stayed cloudy & dry.  Pretty cool.  Nice.  Hope this weather lasts for a long time.
Lunch with girlfriends was cancelled.  Will meet next week.  I was tired so not upset.
Jalisco's reopened.  Totally new look.  Will miss the brick walls.
Met my artist friend RG.  We met at the Sale BARn.  I was a bit early & got to make friends with our waitress & the owner of the business who is also the cook.  Got bad news though.  RG is leaving earlier than he & I thought.  He goes home on saturday.  Dang.  I love his company.  He is fun to talk to but I always talk too much. Probably since I an lonely often.  Next year he is not here until September.  Too long to wait.  We have decided to make phone calls.  Be nice.
Lowering my insulin is better so far.  RA sucks big time.  Awful.
When I headed for home I noticed how low my fuel was.  Yikes!!!  Thank goodness I was still in town.  Close call.
Photos are flowers & a mix.
I would love to have this!

23 june, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

Bring Your Dog to Work Day

I was up really early to go to Wichita to see my RA doctor.  A good visit.  Good to be there but the trip was a trip or errors!  Nothing bad though.

Started out with enough time to get there.  BUT.  First the interstate highway was under construction.  Had to go slow.  Second got to Wichita & one of the streets I drive on a lot was closed.  CLOSED???  Why?  It was closed last year.  Now what.  Third I got on the street I needed & missed my turn.  I was late.  Grrrr.

The lady who checked me in was anything but pleasant.  She was not friendly or pleasant or nice.  Most of the help is always friendly.  Maybe it was not her day.

I found out that my pharmacy telling me every time I want to renew a pill my RA doc has ordered is required for me to see my RA doc. For every bottle???  Not a chance.  Once a year is all.  I quit taking it as I see my eye doc twice a year at least.  NOT every month.  I am calling them next week.  Sheesh.  Next visit a bone scan is scheduled.  My one wrist is worse than the other.  I can get an injection if I need.  Will wait a while.  And there is a tiny brace I can wear if needed.  Good to know.

I ate breakfast at home before leaving.  With my V8 power drink.  Nothing bad in it but does keep me alert.  So I needed some lunch.  I chose Brahms.  Had a chocolate malt, french fries & an ice water.  Awesome malt!!

There was a surprise with the water.  The lid was on but it was not a tight seal.  I lifted it for a sip & I doused my neck, chest, tummy, & slacks with icy water.  Wakes one up pretty quick!!  And in Wichita traffic!!!

Traffic was heavy going to the city & coming home.  Wow.  At least it was 4 lanes.

JR & I ate at Jalisco's for supper.  Sad to find out one of the kitchen help left.  I really liked him.  Seems like anyone I like goes away.

And for the first time in 3 years, we had a shaved ice drinks for dessert.  Yummy!!!

Photos are a mix.  The photo of me with 2 artist friends are from the past.  The top photo is me & my best friend John.  He past away a few years ago.  Miss him every day.  He is buried near Willie.  The lower photo is me & Jerry, an artist from Nigeria.  I think he is coming back here this autumn.  I hope so.  Both of them are & were fantastic artists.  Miss them both.

Wandering Through Life, 3 September 2021

Today was my appointment in Wichita with my arthritis doctor.  An easy appointment.  My osteoarthritis is causing my pain. My rheumatoid arthritis is under good control.  I have no swelling.  Yet.  She can do injections in my shoulder and my knee.  Did not today but will do my knee sometime soon.  Going to try an ace wrap and see if that helps.

Traffic was just plain awful.  Sheesh!!  And the one street I always drive on is closed for some kind of work.  It was the last time I was here and I had hoped it was finished.  No such luck.  I even got honked at twice.  One delightful person honked at me for not moving when the car in front of me was not moving.  Idiot.  Another time I got honked at when I could not get around a stopped car.  Chill people.

I have a nice list of places I want to eat at but not with COVID surging ahead every where.  Wichita is close to having few hospital rooms now.  I went to Arby’s.  My waitress forgot sauce, napkins, and my drink.  Where was her mind.

Too tired to go to Jalisco’s.  Took a short nap.  I am there so often they were probably glad for a break from me.  Poor guys.

Nico is still at the vets.  I will get him tomorrow morning.  A break is good for all of us.  Kitty is pretty quiet.  And she never even walked on me once last night. Odd.

Photos are summery ones. All taken by me except the truck one.  I just like it.

Sheltering in Place, Mood Of Silence, Day 318....

What a day. I took JS to Wichita looking for a different car. His car has broken down. We went all over town. Fun! I enjoyed my day out. Would have been more fun if a car was found. Had 2 that almost made it.

We had lunch at Agave. I had shrimp in a cream sauce, rice, and fried potatoes. Very good.

I am really tired. Will sleep good tonite.

Nico is boarded at the vet's. I am sure he is heart broken. Home tomorrow.

Photos are from today. The little sports car is the car I want. Sure it is out of my budget.

Sheltering in Place, Mood Of Silence, Day 228......

Quiet and warmer day. I slept off and on last night.

Early this morning I took Nico out. I saw a head above the tall weeds in the pasture. A deer was watching us! Later I saw a very large bird fly up from my pond. No idea what it was. Maybe a heron. Not a hawk or vulture. I like living out here where  you see things not seen in town.

Stayed home all day. Almost drove to town but did not feel like it. Too lazy to get dressed. The longer the quarantine lasts, the less I care. And I sort of feel that no one cares about me either. Part of being alone so often.

Having less pain. Found a small bottle of pain spray. Seems to help. I was looking forward to seeing my doctor in Wichita but am having second thoughts. Almost all the ICU beds are full in Wichita. I do not need to go there. Dang. Maybe she can order a different med that helps with pain. Hard to show her what is wrong on a video. And she can only guess what is wrong with my hips. Just cannot win. Hard when I need help but to get it must put myself in danger.

Idiots are out today. Had to delete from my group on FB people who posted that Covid is a hoax. Just in Wichita with almost all ICU beds full of Covid patients, that is not a hoax. Same over most of the US. Good God no wonder we cannot get ahead of it. We are doomed with people like this preaching false things.

Warmer weather is here and no rain forecast. We got next to zilch the last two days. South of us got more than here. My county is almost 3 inches behind in rain. Other places got more and they needed it.

Today would have been my parent's 79th wedding anniversary. I added a couple of photos of me with them. One is me and Mom in a Glamor Shot. One is a very old Christmas card with my parents. Amazing, I used to be cute! What happened!?

Also have a photo of Nico playing like an ancient Blackjack dealer and edited photos.
