05/2025 Torsdag the 01st - Wandering & Capturing Moments

Today's Name Day: Valborg

Today is the King of Sweden's Birthday Celebration. Hurra, hurra, hurra, hurra!

We had rain last evening & night.  Very great.  I drove home from Lindsborg in fairly heavy rain & huge drops.  And continued into the night.  Fun to see lightning & hear thunder.  I got like 0.59".  Lindsborg got much less.  I was lucky.
Had a lunch date but cancelleld as I did not sleep well.  No working today.  JR & I had supper at Jalisco's.  Good burrito & dessert was ice cream.  I needed to make a phone call so we did not sit to chat for long.  They were very busy tonight.  Muy ocupado!
The radar & sky looked like rain here but nothing.
Had photos from MM with a couple of his kids.  When I got home I saw KN coming out of my drive.  He was checking fences so the bulls do not get out.  Keeping them out of my yard is a good idea!!  We had a nice visit.  Good to see him!
TV just said maybe a chance of rain overnight.  And next week we have a chance for soaking rain.  I hope.
Hope rain stays out of Lindsborg.  The Old Mill expects 500 kids coming tomorrow to tour our entire park.  Many people in showing their crafts, animals, singing, dancing, etc.  All from different schools or home schooled.  I hope it all goes well for them.  ¡Buena suerte!
All the photos today are from the White Peacock from a few years ago.  One of my favorite places to be, to eat, to drink.
The patio.  In good weather it is great to sit out there.
My favorite muffin.  Has lemon pudding in it.
Outside & the front doors.

Wandering Through Life, 1 September 2021

My day did not start so good.  Even after taking a pill for sleep I never got any sleep until 10am.  I called in absent for work.  I managed a couple hours after lunch.  Why?  Drives me crazy.

Another fairly warm day.  Around 90F but did not feel too bad.  And a nice breeze.  Rain?  Probably not.  Maybe in a couple of days.  But hopefully cooler days are ahead.  Glad summer is leaving.  It is the worst for me.  But the heat lovers do not care.  They make sure I know it.

I ate with my brother and friend PM.  Good conversation.  PM knows so much about the history of the college.  Interesting.  My friend NM was resting in my booth. I threatened to sit on him!!  He moved quickly at the thought!  He is fun.  I had not seen the one cook for a while so I said hello to him.  And JS was as ornery as usual.  He is always good to me.  And makes me laugh.

Asked JS if he knew how to fix cactus —- nopales I think is the Spanish word.  He loves it.  I might try it.  Might.  He said if you chop up the nopales and fry it and then mix it in frijoles and serve it to a Mexican man, he is yours forever.  Ok.  Should I try??

Photos are all taken today.  I am thrilled to finally have flowers here at home.  Slow coming.  Gorgeous!  And a super sunset.  The sky was quite hazy.

Sheltering in Place, Mood Of Silence, Day 339....

What change of a day! Our low was 11F. Our high was 36 F. Very nice. I made it official and turned off all running faucets.

Started my car after lunch and it seemed Ok. Made supper plans. Yay!

I had time for a short nap. Then I put on makeup. My face was in shock. Then "real" clothes not jammies or lounging clothes.

JR and I went to Jalisco's. Felt awesome to be back. MA and I reintroduced ourselves! I was hoping I could trick CA to serve me tequila but she was on to me! Only pepsi. I keep trying!! We even celebrated with ice cream (nieve) for dessert. Perfect.

JS was cooking. He came to say "hola" twice. So good to see him in person not just on a video chat.

One down side of the warmer weather is Nico. When cold he moves fast outside. Not today. Today he dawdled around!

Photos today are mostly from the Red Barn Studio where I used to work. I miss being there. Two photos are of my fur kids laying together on our bed.
