07/2025 - Miércoles the 16th - JOURNEY

 

Sunset last evening.  The sun was huge & gorgeous!

Today's Name Day:  Reine, Reinhold

    Had a bad night but a good day.  I could not sleep.  Awake until 6am.  Then up around 930am to get ready for work.  Woke with a headache but got better.

    First day at the Old Mill in a week.  I finished the photos of kids at the state capitol.  Not many of them but took forever with 3 to 5 names on each photo.

    Started a new bunch of photos at work.  They are the most boring photos so far.  Lots of kids or adults & no one knows who they are.  Where they are is boring.  There was one photo of some pieces of art.  Liked it. There was one piece that is called a tin star.  I know several artists who make them.  A second photo really caught my attention.  Fell in love with it.  And the more I looked at it I realised the name of it was written as part of it, the artist, & when it was created.  It says " From Lidkõping (Sweden) by Birger Sandzén 1892".  Made a couple of copies & shared one on Lindsborg Nostalgia.

    I was just too tired to go out for supper.  Came home after work.  Did not even try to nap.  Blood sugar was falling so I just fixed some supper.  Nothing fancy.  Too tired to cook.  I thought of taking something home for supper.  Or even going to the Öl Stuga.  Too tired.  Just came home.

    There are no cattle here anymore.  I sure miss them.  One reason I hate summers.  Cattle& calves are far from home.

    Weather was awful today.  Humid & I saw 99F.  Felt awful outside.  Cool tonight & tomorrow.  Then hot & humid again ---- all next week.

    There is a big fire in the Grand Canyon.  The smoke arrived here yesterday.  My eyes have felt like there is gravel in them.  Nothing helps.  Glad I see my eye doctor this month.

    The TV acted up last night.  Ch12 had trouble streaming their network.  Then I was watching a tv show while doing my Spanish lesson.  It was miserably difficult.  Then my electricity quit for a few seconds.  Had to restart my TV show & I had to restart my lesson.  I dreaded having to redo it all over again.  BUT.  It was different & much easier.  I had few errors.  Made me smile.

    This evening Cinder is sitting on the room heater watching the outside.  And she is looking braced for an attack,  No idea what is out side but she looks no where else.  And then my tv quit again due to weather.  No storms here or clouds.  Odd.

003/2025 Tisdag the 11th - Wandering & Capturing Moments

 

Photo of the Lindsborg High School basketball team in March 11, 1966 when we won the state tourny in Emporia KS.  The tall young man in the back row made the  winning goal just as the game ended.  I was there!!!

Today's Name Day:  Edvin, Egon

    Day did not start good.  Awake all night & got up to the sofa at 6am.  Fell asleep around 7am.  Slept until 12noon.  Napped with my kits in the bedroom from 1pm till 4pm. 

    Started my day around 730am with a photo of MM & AM.  Great way to start my day.

    Less pain today & tonight my knee is painfree.

    Got a text from my grandson CF.  I got really worried about what he was saying,  I sent a long response,  Not going to explain what he or I wrote.  Later he phoned me.  We had a good chat.  I am truly worried about him.  He has some big changes coming in his life.  Hope it all works out.  Adding him to my prayer list again.

    Talked on the phone to MM & to JR.  Things to discuss & share.

    Thank goodness we did not reach 85 again today.  Hate summer.  Even had a fly in my house.  Great.  Starting early.  Hate bugs.  Today we were 72 & 36.  Big nice change.  This weekend a strong front is coming here.  We won't get anything but strong winds.  No rain.  It goes north & east.  We always lose out. 😞

    Had a good supper.  Pancakes & orange juice.  Good to have something different.  Cinder is licking up my leftover syrup & butter.  Weird cat!!

    No cattle or llamas today.  Maybe I missed them.

National Be an Angel Day

    I have had a better day.  Even though sleeping is a challenge.  I had a short nap this morning & again after lunch.  Taking a pill tonight to help me sleep.  So frustrating.

    My pain is much better.  I can eat ok.   Not tried a cookie or Swedish candy yet.  Will wait until saturday or friday night.

    I changed my mind & want to have lunch with LL tomorrow  but she must be busy.  Too bad.  I sure miss her.  See her tomorrow.

    Cinder has been outside all day.  On the porch. But she keeps looking out in the yard.  Wonder why.  She has her eyes on something.  I suppose I will have to carry her inside later.  Lilla buse!!!  (Swedish -- little brat!  Good to have Swedish friends.  I often can learn things.)

    Last night of the DNC.  Good to feel joyful & hopeful for a change.

    Weather warnings for saturday & sunday.  Super hot again  Hopefully this is the last of it.  I am sick of summer.  Last night there was quite a lightning storm here.  I do not think we had rain.  Or not much.  Of course.  Maybe rain again tonight.  Maybe.  Hope I sleep through it.

    I finally felt good enough to shampoo my hair.  Nice to look human again!!!  Have some new products.  Tried one out today.  Two more coming,

    I bought a couple of dresses but they are too long.  Dang.  Decided to wear one tonight. Love it.  Should have both of them shortened.

National Strawberry Sundae Day

Today's Name Day: Klas

    I have little to say today.  I was awake all night until noon today.  Then lunch & an afternoon nap.  Plus there is not a place on my body that does not hurt.  Thanks to unstable weather & my blessed RA.  I ended up cancelling the entire day.  Need to take trash out.  Hope I feel better tomorrow.  I hope.

    My 9pm video call did not happen last night.  But at midnight JS texted to see if I was still up.  I was still on the sofa,  We had a great visit.  We talked for 56 minutes.  very cool.  Good to see & hear him.  We talked again this morning.  And after that video call my friend from Morocco called me.  Those were the high point of my day.

    Those were the end of the attention I got.  Later had some texts from CF.  He is home again.  Glad he had safe travels.

    We were supposed to get rain last night & it all went south.  Again rain was forecast this afternoon & it went south again.  Dry tomorrow & a warm up begins,  Yuck.

    Photos have an autumn feel.  I am dreaming.
