06/2025 - Miércoles the 25th- JOURNEY

These are near my yard.

Today's Name Day:  David, Salomon
I have known many Davids  --- childhood friend, high school friend, cousin or two, adult friends,

Today was pretty good.  No storms yet.  Maybe later.
Work today at the Old Mill.  Worked hard on the photos I have selected.  This group is a bit boring.  Lots of people we do not know.  Too many photos of houses or kids, or whatever.  Those are really boring.  But I did find a couple today that were really cool.
One photo was very old with 2 people in an interesting home.  It utterly fascinated me.  I posted it on our Nostalgia page.  And what I found out was awesome!!!  When Willie & I got married in 1966 our telephone was a "crank" one with a party line of 8 people.  And operators to take our calls to send to others.  And that continued until 1976 at least.  This photo is of the phone office & the operators are Ed & Goldie.  I can still hear them say "number please".  We were the last to get dial telephones.  It was a blessing!!
The other photo was of a truck from Assaria Oil Company.  That is where I had my oil changed yesterday.  It is still there.  Willie used to have coffee there every morning.  Great place.  Nice people.  Always.  Photo was taken in Lindsborg.
Our director shared a cookie with us.  I have got to go buy some of them. Chocolate chip with a slight flavor of banana.  MMMM.
I found an envelope of photos with the coolest name.  Will share when I start on it.  I am anxious for something fun!!!
Supper was at the Crown & Rye.  I had Salmon & Rice.  To die for.  I got JR & I each a cookie for dessert.  MMM.  Great meal.
Just checked the radar.  Some storm clouds moving into the state.  Nothing severe is expected.  Good.  Rain couldl wait until after harvest.
    Photos are a mix..
Harvest & storms

Tomte who is a friend named Ron Stamm.  He has since passed away.  He looked really good,  This was for a movie being filmed in Lindsborg.

07 april, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

Did not get too cool last night.  In the 40s.  Warm today in the 60s.  We just missed being in the high wind area.  Great for us!

Mostly rested today.  Pain takes the life out of one.  Resting does not truly help but there is nothing else to do.  Nico helped.

JR & I went out for supper.  I was almost out of fuel so I filled up.  That was an expensive venture!  The price is now atrocious!!!

We went to Salina to eat at the Olive Garden.  They have a soup I love.  So I had the usual breadsticks & chicken gnocchi soup.  For my main dish I chose salmon.  That was the best salmon I have had!  Fried in butter & spices.  The soup is always great.  I enjoyed our meal out.

We had not eaten in the Olive Garden since before the pandemic.  The prices about made me swoon!  Wow!!  Plus the price of fuel.  An expensive evening!

Back in Lindsborg I took some photos of the pear trees & flowers.  My pear tree is actually blooming too.  Too dark for a good photo.  Will get one tomorrow.

At home Nico & Cinder & I sat out.  But I got chilled with little sun & a small breeze.

Photos are the pear trees, flowers, & supper.
