5/2026 - Thursday 7th - MY JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Carita , Carina

I do not know these names.  Had one ancestor called Aunt Carrie.  Close as I get.

    Today was actually great!!  What a surprise.  I knew part of it would be but it ended even better.

    Night was awful.  I could not keep my eyes open so missed Colbert.  Fell asleep right away.  Woke up later freezing to death!!  I pulled up my weighted blanket.  I finally warmed up & then I was too warm.  Blanket off.

    My blood sugar was constantly low all night.  And I had even took less insulin.  I do not understand.  I wonder if the med I take for my neuropathy is changing things inside me.  Who knows???

    I met a newer friend for coffee at the White Peacock.  She is in charge of a building in town.  Plus she is on the SVAFC board.  When she is supposed to work & cannot then she calls me.  I love those calls from several people,  A fun coffee!  She has had the most interesting life.  I love hearing about it.  We plan on meeting again.  Very nice.

    I called MM to see if he was at work.  He was so I went to the Sale Barn.  We sat outside for a while but then I moved inside when he got busy.  I decided to have supper there.  Better than me cooking,  Had a burger with egg & cheese & fries.  

    A guy who works there is also a professional singer.  And works hard at that.  He even said I looked prettier than when we first met.  MM said I am Grandma so he renamed me  Grandma Hottie!!!  What a fun guy!  Nice to laugh!.  And truly sweet guy.  I warned him he was making my blog tonight!!!  So here he is!!!

    On they way home I stopped to see Willie.  His flowers looked so bad.   I had 2 last bouquets in the trunk of the car so his grave looks better now.  Someone planted daisies behind his grave & they looked awesome.  Took lots of photos,  Said hello to MM's father & my best friend John,  Cemetery looks good.  I have lots of new flowers that have come.  Ready to make graves look good.  A couple of graves have peonies on them.  Took more photos.

    Got home and a very lazy mail man drove up in my yard.  He was no where near my car port or porch.  Or even my trash bins.  He tossed a box on the ground and went on his merry way.  Need to complain. Found 2 packages in the ditch behind my mail box.  One was totally ruined.  The other one was ok.

    Although a great day, got sad news at noon.  A local man I really liked & respected passed away today.  So sad.  Peace & hugs to his family.

    Still no baby cats.  Starting to worry again.  They have to be starving.  I keep calling,  Only get a possum & a racoon.  Dang.

The dalahäst at the Old Mill.

Today's Name Day:  Matilda,  Maud

Matilda is a familiar name.  I have a nice friend in Sweden named Maud.  She has been in Lindsborg many times.  And I have been at her home in Sweden too.

    Had a good day.  Started with meeting MM at the White Peacock.  I ate lunch.  Did not want to cook at home.  They were super busy.

    When he left he went to look at a house on Main Street.  His house has been sold so he must move.  The house he looked at he likes.  And it is now his.  Cool.  I will drive by it every time I work at the Mill.  Nice.

    This afternoon I worked at the Old Mill.  And dozens of tiny photos.  The scanner was a major pain.  If I got lucky I might get to scan 2 photos in a row.  Most of the time I was rebooting the scanner between photos.  I got done with all the photos that had no names on them.  Next week I start dozens of tiny photos with names.  I did get those sorted by size.  Hoping for more interesting photos when done with all these from a local school.

    It was quite warm today.  But I froze in the basement at the Mill.  My house is freezing to me also.  Tomorrow we start warm, then 50 mph winds come here & in the afternoon our temperature is 35F.  Colder overnight.

    When I went to lunch the llamas were near my yard.  I got a photo of one.  The other was mixed in with the cows.

    Called KN to see if he was the one to fix my tipped over trash bins.  He was the one.  They will blow again tomorrow.

    I tried to take a nap at home but I could not sleep.

    Photos today are a mix.
