08/2025 - Martes the 5th - JOURNEY

 

Ljusnan River in central Sweden.  Cousins live near the river in Hälsisngland.  They own the beach.  On the dock is my cousin.  Now an adult.

    Had a bad night.  I had little sleep although I felt ok today.

    I had a hair appt in Salina.  No clue how to get there.  Paved road to Salina was closed to replace a culvert.  Could not get on Interstate due to a missing bridge over the interstate.  There was a road near me I thought would go all the way to Hiway 4.  Wrong.  I finally found the Smolan Road.  Coming home I took interstate then go on the Falun Road.  For a while it was ok.  Then it was closed do to replacing another culvert.  I went out of my way & got back to the Falun Road.  But I did see that the road to Lindsborg is now open.  Will save me time going to work.  Yay!!

    MM two oldest sons got home today.  My great grandsons.  Got a video message from the oldest. Very special.  Have it saved. 

    MM had an awful family loss last night in ICT.  Scary with the kids there.  I feel really awful for the family.  Glad he does not live there anymore.  Not safe at all.

    Warmer today but quite cool overnight.  Warmer each day through friday almost up to 100F.  Then cooler & maybe rain next weekend.

    Missed trash day today so I need to feel better to get trash out to the bins.  Wish I had backup.  None for me.  I am sooo tired of summer.  I hate the heat, humidity, & bugs.

Photos from Sweden.  First one is me at a crayfish party, next is me with a statue of a snaphaunce or highway man.  He was explained to me when I was there.  The third is me & a rune stone in a pasture.  Owner built a way to walk over the ditch to stand by it. And the last photo is me standing on the borders of Norway & Sweden.  Think we ate lunch across the street.  And our first experience with hamburgers in Sweden.  Not like here.  They all have thousand island dressing on them.  Very good.

06 october, 2022 Wandering & Capturing Moments

I had a very nice day.  Great weather to be out & about.  Thank goodness the awful 90F plus temps are gone ---- finallly.

    My first errand was a stop at my accountant's office.  I had 2 years of taxes to pay.  I have a ton of guilt of making him do all that.  But I wrote all the checks & they will mail them.  Wish I could have went shopping with that money instead of giving it to the government.  But it gets better every year.  Helped to sell almost all my farm land.  I hate not having it but it cost lots of money for insurance & fertilizer, etc.

    Then I went to Jerry Ivey Park & took photos & sat with my window open listening to the water sprinkler.  Very relaxing.  I had time to kill.  I was glad.  A nice lady & baby walked by my car & she talked to me.  In my town that rarely happens.  I have cousins that eat where I do who rarely have eye contact or a hello.  Love families!!!

    Then I had an hair appointment at a new place.  My stylist is on vacation.  So went somewhere new to me.  They were friendly & the girl I had did the best shampoo.  The way she styled my hair is just so-so.  I will curl it more tomorrow.  Or after sleeping it may be just fine.  I am going to see her again next week.  Nice to have a place I like when my guy is out of town.

    I came home & Cinder was just adorable.  I will share a photo of her napping in a small box.  So sweet!

    Weather was nice.  Temps were 51 & 85.  Cooler tomorrow.  About time.  They have mentioned frost but I do not remember what day.

    MK, grandson, called tonight.  Nice apology, kids yelling "grandma", & plans to get me a hot water heater.  Cannot imagine a hot shower & even doing my own hair.  Or not!!!  Enjoying being pampered!!!

    No photos tonight.  They will not load.  My photos last night were all .jpeg format.  Loaded fine.  Same format tonight & nada.  I tried to change their format & that would not work.  I am soooo frustrated.  I have tried everything.  Dang.  Sorry.  Hope they are upgrading or something.  Trying not to cry.

   

                      

                    

Tuesday, March 31, 2022 Wandering

    A great day today.  Woke up to around 2" of snow.  I saw it snowing at 4am when outside.  It is lovely!  Nice that we got something nice here.  I got a few photos and it was gone after lunch.  And we have a chance for rain friday night.  I hope.  So dry here.

    My grandson, MM invited me to lunch today.  And was I lucky.  He was there with his girlfriend and 2 of my great grandsons.  They are adorable.  And learning to talk.  The youngest one was able to say "I love you Grandma".  Nice moment.  It was a fun meal.  Glad they live nearby.

    Jalisco's was busy and it messed my mind up.  Not used to eating out at noon except on sunday.  Came home and took a nap.  Woke up and thought it was sunday.  A few minutes later I remembered.

    Calm out today.  No gale force winds.  I get tired of hearing it.  I need to have a friend come to check on my roof when the wet weather is over.  And I need a tree cut down.  He can do that also.  I hope.  Worth whatever he wants to charge me.

    Good news from FIFA fútbol world cup.  Both Mexico and the US are both going.  It is confusing to me how they rule, I just know they did.  Canada is going for the first time in 36 years.  Great for them.

Sheltering in Place, Mood Of Silence, Day 180....

A better day. Better mood. Still wanting more from life but just not going to happen. But I am glad my friends are all doing well, happy and enjoying life and friends.

Slept better and so did Kisse.

Went to get Nico around 2pm. He was so excited to see me! He drug the worker out to the car!! When he got home he checked every corner. Then crashed on the sofa. Kisse curled up on the hopper and glared at me. I could read her mind: You had to get him!? I thought you gave him away! Take him back!!! NOW!

JR and I supper with JR2 and her friend at Jalisco's. Great food, ornery JS, and great conversation. I enjoyed their company!

The Plague, Day 118.....

For a day at home, I have been busy. I worked on my taxes all afternoon. I was able to find much more info online than I thought. What a break! I wrote checks to 2 places I was clueless who they were. I called my nephew KN and he knew what they were. If only Willie had let me be a true partner in our farm. Very sad. For both of us. I think I am done. Will late though. My accountant is too busy. No worries. 

Awful weather today. Not horribly hot but the humidity was a killer. Nico wanted to be outside and I sort of sat with him but I suffered. Ick.

 My grandson MM and his girlfriend had baby #2 last night. He is adorable. Wish I dared to travel. Hopefully before both boys are adults. Cannot  believe I am a great grandmother. Wish they were closer.

My Wichita soccer team won a match tonight. They have 3 out of town matches and one at home on the 25th. Debating if we will go or not. I would love to board Nico and eat somewhere nice and go to the match. Depends on how bad the virus is. The world just sucks. Or as a friend used to say "The world has no gravity, it just sucks!"
