4/2026 - Måndag den 6:e - MY JOURNEY

 

Much better time of the year.

Today'a Name Day:  Vilhelm, William

Mom had an Uncle Manny whose real name was Vilhelm. He changed it to William.  (William is my son's name.)  Willie was actually Earl William.

    Had a so-so day.  Throat only hurts really bad when I cough or swallow, not between coughs.

    Today is a sad anniversary.  Today my family ceased to be.  Not my choice.  But for my own physical safety I had no other choice.  We almost had to call the law but I chose not to.  Should have.  Miss my grandchildren.  I am sure they only know bad things about me.

    Weather was ok.  I was mostly inside.  Don't care about the weather anymore.  I hate Kansas weather.  It won't be better for months.  Had moderate winds.  Few clouds.

    I went out to feed Miss Kitty.  She was no where to be seen.  I but looked in an empty box on the porch.  All 6 kittens were snuggled in it!!  No way to get a photo but I wish I could have.  I wonder if she put them there & told them to STAY!!!  Good mom!

    After cutting out that one food I like that I decided it was making my stomach sick  I have had no problems.  Good to know.

    After lunch I fed Miss Kitty.  She was there then.  And the kittens had scattered.

    Took a very short nap.  Had a nice nap about me & a friend & an uncle & aunt.  Nothing special, just nice.  Only people I have "seen" in the last week.  Only "see" one friend on FB.  No one else keeps in touch.

    When I woke up I went outside for a while.  Miss Kitty came to eat & we bonded a bit.  She is sweet.

    I now know that no one has time for me.  I will expect nothing anymore.  Every one has more to do than anything to help me.  I will only see if KN can help me this week.  Won't ask anyone else.  Could ask MS but she works hard & I do not want her to see my house.  How awful it is.  No more whining on my part.  No one cares how I feel anyway.

    I wanted some more cattle photos but not a cow or llama insight.  Dang.  They were too far south.

    Rain is forecast for next week,  My one weather app has tons of rain forecast for over a week starting next weekend.  Even the weather men agree.  Scary.  The drought is creeping further & further to the north.  No quite here yet.  Yet.

    Kids did not nap with me.  Kind of stayed close though.  Now that I am busy Cinder is begging for food.  There is still dry food.  She will live.

    I down loaded some photos while outside but they have not synched yet.  Dang.

    I down loaded an upgraded operating systems on my laptop last night & on my iphone today.  

    I hope to work on wednesday but depends on my cough.  Had a bad coughing spell today.  Do not want to be at work & coughing the entire time.  Not working at  all on friday.  Taking a vacation day.  Like I have vacation days!!!

    Photos are a mix, like usual.  Some old some new.

Saw this in Ellis Kansas after we had stopped for coffee.  Had to have photos!  Years ago.

Have known a Ragnar.

    No blog at all today.  Not up to it.  Very bad day.  Nothing health wise.  Maybe can blog tomorrow or friday.  Sorry.  Just fotos.

08/2025 - Martes the 5th - JOURNEY

 

Ljusnan River in central Sweden.  Cousins live near the river in Hälsisngland.  They own the beach.  On the dock is my cousin.  Now an adult.

Today's Name Day:  Alrik, Ulrik

    Had a bad night.  I had little sleep although I felt ok today.

    I had a hair appt in Salina.  No clue how to get there.  Paved road to Salina was closed to replace a culvert.  Could not get on Interstate due to a missing bridge over the interstate.  There was a road near me I thought would go all the way to Hiway 4.  Wrong.  I finally found the Smolan Road.  Coming home I took interstate then go on the Falun Road.  For a while it was ok.  Then it was closed do to replacing another culvert.  I went out of my way & got back to the Falun Road.  But I did see that the road to Lindsborg is now open.  Will save me time going to work.  Yay!!

    MM two oldest sons got home today.  My great grandsons.  Got a video message from the oldest. Very special.  Have it saved. 

    MM had an awful family loss last night in ICT.  Scary with the kids there.  I feel really awful for the family.  Glad he does not live there anymore.  Not safe at all.

    Warmer today but quite cool overnight.  Warmer each day through friday almost up to 100F.  Then cooler & maybe rain next weekend.

    Missed trash day today so I need to feel better to get trash out to the bins.  Wish I had backup.  None for me.  I am sooo tired of summer.  I hate the heat, humidity, & bugs.

    Photos are many autumn photos.  They give me peace & hope.

Photos from Sweden.  First one is me at a crayfish party, next is me with a statue of a snaphaunce or highway man.  He was explained to me when I was there.  The third is me & a rune stone in a pasture.  Owner built a way to walk over the ditch to stand by it. And the last photo is me standing on the borders of Norway & Sweden.  Think we ate lunch across the street.  And our first experience with hamburgers in Sweden.  Not like here.  They all have thousand island dressing on them.  Very good.
