Today's Name Day: Erling, Jarl

    Had a pretty nice day.  Went to bed around 1030.  I was just tired.  Slept pretty good..  Felt ok today.

    Went to bed & after severe pain the wednesday night I had little pain in bed. Odd.  Had a moment or two of pain but did not last long.  Not too bad today.

    We have smoke here from Wyoming, Montana, etc.  The skies are hazy often.  I have not smelled it but some do.  Make beautiful sunsets!!  But today my eyes are hurting & lots of tears.  I gave up on my usual eye makeup.  Hard to focus at work.  Did not get better.  Plus I have some allergies.  Think both are bothering me.  😔

    I finished Folder  "O"  this afternoon.  Then I started on Folder "P".  Lots more photos in this folder.  I got half of the tiny ones scanned.  Anxious to get back on Wednesday to continue.

    Had trouble with scanner today.  It was a mess.  I rebooted the entire system.  As it came back on I noticed something that is never selected had been marked.  I changed it back to where it should be.  Then it scanned better.  Later I got another error.  I could not turn off the scanner & kept getting an error message.  AP had to help.  Thank goodness he was there.  Fixed it.  What a day!!

    Mexican for supper.  Then to the Barnyard Creamery,  I tried a new ice cream they have.  It is called Cotton Candy.  Tastes just like real cotton candy even has the little pieces of crunchy sugar.  I really like it!!

    I got home & opened the front door & Cinder ran out the door.  I could not have stopped her if I wanted to.  Now I worry if she will come home for bedtime.  😱

    The weather just said we have rain coming for this friday & saturday.  Hard to believe them.  I am not getting excited.

    Need to make an appointment to get my flu shot & Covid shot at our pharmacy.  JR needs his Covid shot.  Next week I hope.

National Hero Day

Today's Name Day: Nils

    Just a rest day for me.  I mostly had little pain overnight until this morning it started again.  I have things I want to do but won't happen today.  Moving slow.

    Did not want to cook so lunch was popcorn.  And a chocolate chipt cookie.  Not bad.

    The weather was ok.  Low was 49 & the high was 80.  Quite cold weather is coming sunday.  Maybe our first frost.  But no chance of any rain.  Nothing wrong with our climate here  😔 😪

    We have smoke here.  From fires in the Montana, etc. areas.  Not from California.  Makes for gorgeous sunsets.  The sky stays hazy.  And it might bother some people's breathing.  So far I am ok.  There is no wind to move it out of here.  Or rain to help get rid of it.

    Cinder wanted out today.  Not seen her since.  Hope she is ok.  I should have said no. 😔

Nothing interesting or fun on the National Day Calendar.  Found a gnome photo I like.

Today's Name Day: Evald, Osvald

      Not a bad day.  Slept ok.  Cinder stayed nearby & in bed.  At naptime, she slept on me the entire nap.  She has not asked to go outside once since her traumatic day outside.  I went out to get mail & she never looked up.  Not sure she is eating good.  I am worried.  I wonder what happened to her.  Or what she saw.

    Got nice & cool overnight but too dang hot today.  I saw 93.  Ick.  Little cooler tomorrow then saturday is super high again.  Another ick,

    Had supper with LL from work.  We had food from the Stuga.  Very good.  We had a great talk.  I enjoy her company.  Nice day.

    I waited to fuel my car but was scared the price would go higher.  It did not.  Nice & cheap.  Always good.  Fun to fuel for a change.

    Driving in to town & saw a couple of familiar looking guys in a field.  It was KN & his son CN.  We had a short conversation on our phones.  He is back to building a fence here tomorrow.  He warned me it would be noisy. Too hot to plant wheat.  I will make sure Cinder stays inside.

    Little pain today.  Just the usual.  It moves around,  My back today.

National Day of the Cowboy

I am not a particular fan of western stuff but this photos reminds me of Utah.  Love the land there.  Would love to return.

Today's Name Day: Marta

    A nice day at home.  No plans plus I slept pretty good & had a nice nap.  Both cats were lazy & did not wake me up early.

    I had things I wanted to do but no energy.  And too much pain.  So I rested.

    MM wrote to me & said he bring me supper tonight.  He works at the American Legion.  Last night they had a Swedish meal.  I really wanted to go but was afraid I would end up going alone & sitting alone.  I am not a member & not really friends with anyone who is.  But he brought me food from there.  Excellent.  Swedish meatballs, potatis skorv, potatoes, green beans.  I added a pudding cup.  And lingonberries on the meat balls,  Excellent meal!!

    MM & I had a long texting session last night.  We were honest & open with each other.  I treasure moments like that.  I am so grateful he lives close,  Not many people I can depend on but he is one.

    Weather was ok today.  Saw 93F for our high.  Last nice day for a week.  Tuesday & Wednesday are to be 110F.  Yikes!!  I am more than ready for autumn.

    When MM called & said he would be here soon, I went outside to sit with Cinder.  I know how much she misses Cinder to be with.  So she stayed close to me. I gave her lots of petting & she gave it back.  She climbed & ran.  And stretched out.  I took photos the entire time.  Those are my photos tonight

    While sitting outside a deer came running from the north, across my driveway, & south to our pond.  I was hoping it would come back but never did.  I got no photo.  Usually there is a couple together.  He was not too big,  And while out a turkey vulture flew over Cinder & I.  Huge shadow!!!  Probably hoping we were dying!!!  What a buffet for them!

National Moon Day

July 20 commemorates the day man first walked on the moon in 1969. NASA reported the moon landing as being “...the single greatest technological achievement of all time.”

Today's Name Day:  Greta, Margareta

    What a great day!!  I had planned on lunch out but I was scared they would be too busy & I would have no where to sit.  So I cancelled.  That was ok.

    Today was a working day at the SVAFC.  A local police officer was my person to unlock the gallery & then come back to lock it up when I went home.  I had talked to him a couple of times but never met him.  Very nice.  But he was ready for me 30 minutes early & came for me 30 minutes late.  Made for a longer day.

    Had a few guests.  Maybe 5-6.  I knew a few of them.  Late in the afternoon a man came in whose name I knew but had never met.  We talked for 2 hours!!  We both knew areas of Kansas that surprised us both.  And his church as a child in Damar KS.  I have been there.  Beautiful church.  It is a French Canadian town/church.  We talked about Lindsborg & the area, the Swedes, etc.  I enjoyed every minute.  Hope he comes in again sometime when I am working.

    In the early afternoo MH came in to check on me.  He usually unlocks/locks for me.  So he asked who was there for me & just wanted to make sure all was ok.  He is the best.  And great to see him,

    Home to get Cinder in & have supper.  Kisse disappeared 2 days ago -----  in the back bedroom.  There is no way out that I know of.  This happened a couple of years ago,  She was missing for 3 days and she was back.  Hope that happens again.  I am so sad and scared.  Already lost Nico,  Not fair.

    My cousin from Colorado called & we talked for way over an hour.  We each have someone we can talk to & be honest.  I need that sometimes.  And she caught me up on family there.  I don't hear from them all.  Great visit.

    Then I just got started on my blog. & now  JS called!  Good to see & hear him.  Another great long visit.

05/2024 Lördag the 25th - Wandering & Capturing Moments

 

National Wine Day

Today's Name Day: Urban

    Much quieter day today.  High today was 84F but with a nice breeze.  I sort of planned a nap but my grandnephew came to mow.  So I went outside & paid him.  He was excited!!  I decided to forget my nap & sit outside.  I took a few photos to share.  It was just nice outside.  

    Cinder was outside & stayed near me.  She misses Nico so if I stay outside then she plays around rather than sleeps.  Good for both of us.

    I rarely ever see anyone when I am home.  But today my nephew, KN, drove over to chat.  Really nice.  I appreciate it.  We talked about severe weather.  I got brave to admit how terrified I am if my house is destroyed,  I truly have no place to go.  No parental home to camp in, no friends I can stay with, no family to take me in.  But he said not to worry.  They would find me a home somewhere.  Nice that he cares.  I feel less terrified. 😊

    I got my photos from yesterday organized in an album & shared with family.  If anyone cares.  I hope a few care.  Will go back to the cemeteries tomorrow to see all the flags there.  Always impressive.

    Paco's grave in my yard was a mess.  I think the wind got to it.  So I stood the table back up.  Then rearranged the flowers around the edge hoping that will keep it standing and more balanced.  Not sure the solar light still works but will check tonite.  I moved it.  At least it looks better.  He sure was a sweet little dog.  Far too short a life.  Just a baby.  Pretty sure what happened to him.  Just an accident.  No more dogs for me.  Although I am sure wanting one.

    We were supposed to have severe weather tonight but looks like it will stay south & east.  We needed hot temps & high humidity to make it happen.  Those things did not happen.  Good.  Rain would be nice but not wind & hail.  And tornados lasting long times.  Yikes!!!

    Photos today are flowers from Coronado Heights yesterday.  Except for the first photo.  It is a portrait of Cinder today.  She actually posed.  Sweetie.
