19 march, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

I had little sleep last night.  Nothing new.  Had a good afternoon nap.  It was frigid cold last night.  I saw 13F.  High today was in the 50s.  Now we are in a fire warning for tomorrow due to high winds.  I do not mind a breeze but high winds are just annoying.  And there go my trash bins.

I stayed home from lunch out today.  But JR & I went to Pizza Hut for supper.  I had great pizza.  He tried something new.  It looked good.  Except for pepperoni.  But that is easy to pick out.  Might try it  sometime.

In the next booth were 2 of the kitchen help from Jalisco's.  Great to see them.  One is very liberal with hugs.  He is the only one who hugs me now.

I need to try harder to take photos.  I have gotten lazy with no motivation.  No bueno.

Photos today are one photo of the sun setting & others are of blue glass.  Driving home with that sun in the west.  I am too short.  The sun visors do nothing for me.  I was blinded.

14 september, 2022 Wandering & Capturing Moments

Last night was quite good.  Slept all night & only a tiny bit of pain this morning.  So nice for a change.  See what tonight does to me.

Today was a work day at the Old Mill.  So glad to be there.  One of our gorgeous old old trees got sick & could not be saved, so it is gone.  But they are making all sorts of cool things out of the wood to sell.  I am excited to see what they are.

I worked on more school photos.  I saved a couple of cool ones.  And I see a really old old one coming up next week.  I plan to share.

For some reason part of the afternoon the time moved beyond slow.  I swear I saw 2pm on the clock 10 times!!!  Then it got better.  Weird.

I ran errands before work & after work.  Scary when I am organized!!

Tonight supper at Jalisco's.  They got really busy for a while.  JS knows the smoke from fajitas bother me.  So it is his goal to walk every single one by me as slow as possible.  People behind me ordered two, so on his way to deliver them, he stopped at our booth just to make sure all was ok with us.  I just love him more every day!!! 😆

Weather was ok.  Nice breeze.  Our temps were 73F & 95F.  The weekend is to be hot but then cooler.  I am soooo sick of summer.  😱  I want autumn.

Nico just about drove me to drink tonight.  He pottied, bonded with Cinder, had a cookie, dog food & a treat.  But he continued to just pester me.  Finally out to potty again.  Then he thought I should move out of my end of the sofa.  I refused.  He is now curled next to me.  Finally.

Another gorgeous sunset tonight.  People who live near me were out standing near the road to see it.  I will share my photos.  Plus some pink photos.  I was in a pink mood, even my top is pink.

Sheltering in Place, Mood Of Silence, Day 191....

Today was a too quiet day. Had to cancel therapy since I got NO sleep last night. I even tried going to the sofa and it was worse than the bed. Finally got some sleep this morning. Slept until 1230.

Yesterday JR and I had supper at Jalisco's. Hard to imagine that the ONLY place in town to get a burger and fries is at the Mexican restaurant. And a good hamburger! I get the white Mexican cheese on mine.

After supper we drove out to Coronado Heights to await the setting sun. A couple who ate at the restaurant was out there too. They were really friendly. Very nice.

The views from there are wonderful. We live in the Smoky Valley and from the hill looking down in the valley you can see the blue haze. It is always there. There is a castle built up there done by the WPA.

The sun was awesome. The smoke is getting less. Probably good for all. My photos are not as good as the other day. JR takes awesome photos. I should post his instead of mine.

At the base of the hill is a cemetery. Willie is buried there as is my grandson's father and my best friend John. And lots of family. I will be near my great great grandparents. For me it is like coming full circle. And close to John.

When I got home last night a deer was in my front yard near my house. Never got a photo. He never stopped. Fun to see.

Sheltering in Place, Mood Of Silence, Day 189....

My day was good, but my mood was not. I almost cried in public this noon. Anxiety attack and my frickin' hip pain. Tonite I refused to move for Nico. He is angry at me and now sitting in Willie's chair.  I am batting at 100% in being rude to all. Surprised someone did not tell me off.

JR and I ate at Jalisco's. Love my shrimp. I hate when they serve fajitas. The smoke always has a bee line to me. Sold more than usual today. DV and JG bought our lunches because I give JG his hypos. So unnecessary but so appreciated.  And I am doing a favor for JS tomorrow. And did JR's laundry. Sooo nice to be appreciated. Makes me feel better. Nice to be needed. I usually feel useless.

Poor JR carried out 5 large bags of trash. Did not weigh much. Many flattened boxes. Glad it is all gone. Trash comes on tuesday.

A mix of photos. One sun photo from yesterday has birds flying in it. Never saw them when I took it. And we did not have that dessert today. An old photo. Mmmm.

Sheltering in Place, Mood Of Silence, Day 188....

Super quiet day. But I did get trash ready for JR to take out tomorrow. A bit more to do tonight.

I finally got photos of the sun in the California smoke. We have not seen the sun in a week. I will share a couple of photos here. Once in a while I can smell smoke. The smoke goes as far as Greenland and Iceland.

I do not think I can ever go back to regular TV channels. The shows they have on now are stupid. Only watch my soaps (I know!) and then better things on the Science Channel. Couple of other channels I like also. And there is NO politics there. A blessing. Tired of it all.

A mix of photos today.

The Plague, Day 172....

Great weather and a good day.

Today was JR's birthday so I took him out to eat. I told him to pick where. There was something he has been craving so we went where we could get it ---- a chocolate shake. It looked really good. I should have stolen it!!

It was also my cousin's fiance's birthday. They live in Sweden. Wish I was there again.

Then we drove through Mentor Kansas. It is a very small town with several abandoned old buildings. I like it there. We took many photos. There are many very nice homes there also. I would not mind living there. Looks nice and I never hear anything bad about it. My photos today are from Mentor.

I ordered a Prayer Flag from Thailand. Now to decide where to hang it. They appeal to me. I have Thai cousins. Maybe they can give me ideas where to hang it.

The weather is still saying cold is coming. I hope.

We got tickets to soccer on saturday. I am excited!!! May be too warm but I will survive.  Many of the women's team are return players from last year. Be good to see them. Not sure about the men's team.
