19 may, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    I have had a major flare up of RA symptoms.  I thought it was the weather & I am sure that did not help.  But the worst was I had 2 large, heavy boxes of home stuff like dog/cat food, household cleaning products, soda & drinks etc.  I managed to shove each box in the house separately & put things away.  And a plastic bag with drinks I carried in the house.  I had to choose make one trip or several.  And I am paying the price.  It is what happens when you live alone with no friends, few family members, no neighbours.  My brother thinks I can just call my nephew for whatever I need.  I refuse to do that.  He has kids & does not want to miss their activities.  He has a large farm with crops & animals.  He is busy with lots of responsibilities.  I will not be a burden to him.  There are a few answers but that would include people to agree with me & help.  That will not happen.  My one grandson works 12 hours a day.  The other one has 3 babies.  When do they have time?  Such is life.  I do what I have to do by myself.  There is lots I need to do but I run out of steam.  Or get out of bed already out of steam.  Anyone care?  Hardly.  Or they care but would never offer a helping hand.  I get what I deserve.

    Not only in pain, but my stress level has soared this week.  Where is my support group?  I guess it is what it is.  Only my problem.  No one elses.

    Cinder came in early this morning & I never heard or saw her again.  I was scared she died somewhere!!!  She finally went out when I got home from supper.  She was in when we finally got our 3 drops of rain.

    We had rain forecast all night.  I kept getting texts saying rain would start at this time or that time.  All were lies.  Started raining this morning.  Other places in the state had around 2 inches.  We had a whopping .03 inches.  How awesome.  Will just let the rain gauge dry out.

    I finally made it to the pharmacy.  I had 2 things to pick up.  I had emails for both that they were ready.  BUT.  The first one was not found.  They actually got it ready as I waited.  They broke a record for that.  I was amazed I did not have return tomorrow.

    JR & I ate supper at the Crown & Rye.  I had wanted Swedish pancakes but changed my mind.  I got loaded potato soup, fried shrimp, & french fries.  The best fries.  I ate about half.  Lunch will be good tomorrow!

    I bought a microwave cooking dish called Anyday.  They have an entire set & easy recipes to use it for.  Mashed potatoes using no water & cook for 12 minutes.  Bacon 4 minutes & scrambled eggs in 2 minutes.  Awesome.  Will try it out tomorrow with bacon & eggs & toast.

    Photos today are all of buffalo from Maxwell Lake.  Taken a few years ago.  Need to go back out there.  Maybe Nico & I could go sit by the lake to chill out.  Would be nice.

                    

18 may, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    Had a good day.  Slept good.  Fur kids have been good.

    I spent the majority of the afternoon adding photos to my genealogy & adding people.  A lady wanted to join by family group & she listed 2 people who are sisters.  One of my relatives & one of from her family.  I had them both in my family but they are not very close relatives.  They are in my father's family.  So I added a few people & some photos.  I am addicted.

    There is rain near us but will it miss us?  Time will tell.  I have little confidence.  And we are to have stronger winds tomorrow.  I have my straps on my trash bins.  They may tip but they will not open.

    With the cold front approaching, my joints sure feel it.  Hard to sleep last night.  I could not get comfy but then Nico would want to go out & walking was a challenge.  Kind of still is.

    Today my injured toe is so much better.  No swelling or redness or bleeding.  I can wear shoes just fine.  I stayed home today.  Supper out tomorrow.  I am so ready.  Plus I must go to my pharmacy.  Meds are ready to pick up.

    Exciting times at The Old Mill.  We have been granted a quarter of a million dollar grant from a group here in Kansas.  They want to help all who were hurt by the pandemic.  That grant is so needed.  Be exciting to see the changes that will be made.  We have a Swedish building as part of our grounds.  It is in sad shape.  Needs new windows.  The paint is in bad shape, so a new paint job.  And they will change it back to the original color it was.  Plus some improvements to the Mill & better security of the grounds.

12 may, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    Sort of slept ok until 530am.  Took Nico out & came in & found my toilet leaking water AGAIN.  Sent a text to KN right away.  I found a large bowl to catch the water.  Took about 90 minutes for it to fill.  Karma just cannot leave me alone.  I used to pray for forgiveness but it never helped.  My whole life I have been punished for something, clueless as to what. 

    KN was here around 8am.  He tightened the screw again.  Will be the last time.  Next time will be a major repair.  It would be cool if it could wait until after harvest.  Or until autumn.  I should take bets!!!

    Managed a nap this afternoon.  Then JR & I ate at Jalisco's.  I had to make it to my bank before closing & before we ate.  It was a pleasant pace there tonight.  Nice to see all the kitchen help, including the new girl.  She seems sweet.  MA parents are helping out.  I love seeing them.  They are special!!

    After supper we went to the Dala General store for ice cream bars.  Love mine that is shaped like Mickey Mouse.  Mmmm.

    Today is JS's birthday!!  I called him yesterday & today.  His gift finally got here & will get it mailed to him on monday.  Wish we lived closer.  I miss him more than words can say.

    While eating supper my grandson MM came in to see me.  He had a late lunch so just a hug or two tonight.  Hoping to eat together next week.

11 may, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    Slept OK.  No rain here overnight.  Severe storms to the west again this afternoon but we got nothing again.  They kept forecasting severe weather & had me almost scared then nothing here.

    Had my monthly hair app't.  Today I got cut, colored, & styled.  A different style.  I like it.  See how it does sleeping on it.  Hoping for the best.

    Not much else today.  I was moving slow again today.  Took a nap when I got home.  Feel better.

    We continue to have multiple moths around my porch.  I turn NO lights on in the dark.  They are horrible.  It is called an eclipse of moths.  Yuck.  Will be here another couple of weeks.  Then they die or head west.  Why wait!?  Head west now!!

    Added more photos to my genealogy.  Some I cannot find.  Dang.  May turn up later.

10 may, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    It rained often last night.  Got 1 inch total rain.  How wonderful to get it!!!  Rain forecast tomorrow for here.  Now there is strong bad storms way to the west & in to Colorado.  Hope we get rain but no tornadoes, or hail, or wind.

    Today was a work day.  I felt I was in slow motion today.  Tired, I guess.  I love the Lindsborg photos.  I saw one of my aunt's senior class photo.  Plus about 5 other relatives.  I will share it later with family.  I enjoy my co-workers.  Fun place to be.

    JR & I ate at Jalisco's.  They have a new cook.  A sweet young lady.  We met each other tonight.  She knows little English.  But we know each other's name now.  And she reminded me how to say "glad to meet you" ---- muchas gustas.  I think!!

    Cinder was extra cuddly last night.  Sure is nice to feel loved.  Not a good week.  Tired of hearing about mother's day.  I am no longer a mother.  And it hurts.  IF they remember me it will be hateful beyond words.  Better to be forgotten.

    Work on adding photos to my genealogy again.  I even added a couple of photos to my son's kids.  Really hurts.  Not fair to them either.  At one time they could send me messages.  But they are not allowed anymore.  My daughter is now their grandmother.  Nice.

08 may, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    Slept good last night.  It was cooler so that helped.  My cooling blanket came today.  See how that feels tonight.  Our temps were 89.6 & 56.7.  Good difference.  Rain starts tomorrow.  See if they are right.

    I had no plans for today.  Nice to be lazy.  Sat outside with the kids.  Nice breeze.  No humidity.

    I worked on my genealogy & photos today.  Added many photos today.  Fun to see faces instead of a blank person.  Looking at family photos of gatherings of relatives almost made me cry.  All my uncles are gone.  Only 3 aunts remain & they are not blood relatives.  How I miss those get togethers.  And those people.  Looking at those photos I could hear their voices & laughter.  And older photos of people I never met but wish I had known.

    While outside 3 huge turkey vultures flew out of a tree behind my house!  Wow!  Impressive.  And they kept flying over us.  Very cool.  I just got some binoculars.  Tomorrow will sit out & see what I can see.

06 may, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    I really did not have a good night.  Not sure why.  I could not sleep.  Fur kids cuddled with me but did not help.  My mind was on overdrive!!!  Took a nice long nap today.  Taking an anxiety pill tonight at bedtime.  And I started hurting in a couple of places.  Then today I was ok.  Now the pains are back.

    Cinder seems to be staying in the house more often.  Maybe she dislikes hot weather too!!  Today was awful.  I never got comfy last night.  That probably kept me awake.  Too hot.  Today I saw 94.5F.  Far too early to be so hot.  Last night was 67.5F.  I was too warm.  Ordered a summer blanket that arrives tomorrow.  Says it is cooling.  That will help.

    After a whopping 90 minute sleep this morning, I drove to Salina to get groceries.  Nice to have what I need.  I think every saturday is perfect to shop.  I usually have nothing to do then.

    I forgot.  I had a video chat with JS & SM last night.  SM had been in the clinic yesterday.  He is doing ok  JS has a cold.  Not feeling good.  Chatted briefly today.

    This weekend was the Millfest at the Old Mill.  Once a year they turn the mill on so people can see how it worked.  On friday they had 500 kids come in to take part in activities.  My boss is exhausted!!  I can imagine!

    I spent a lot of time tonight adding photos to my genealogy records.  So nice to see faces!!  Of my fave aunts & uncles & some cousins.  Just fun.

    Photos are nothing special.  In one photo you may notice a man in a kilt.  I do not know him but he lives in town.  Glad I got a photo.  Cool!
