Today's Name Day:  Ida, Ronja

I have known several Idas.

    Had a good day.  Today is MM's birthday so I took him out to lunch.  He chose the Sale BARn.  Good choice.  Our friend AA was working.  Great to see him.  He works several jobs plus has a girlfriend in Wichita.  But I know he cares & that is important.

    Had the popcorn shrimp basket.  Very good.  I was hungry.  After we ate the cook poured everyone a cocktail.  Really they were shots.  A chocolate Liquor with a Mint Liquor mix.  Tasted like a chocolate Andes after dinner mint.  My new fave.  Will order again!!  We all toasted MM!!

    I went home to nap.  Although I did sleep better last night.  I hoped to take trash out when I woke up.  But my glucose monitor beeped when I woke up.  Blood sugar was too low.  I skipped trash.  I know working that hard would just lower my sugar even more.  Not safe.  Plus my RA is raging with the changing weather.  MM offered to come help but can do that another day when it is cooler & I feel better.  Good to have some one who cares how I am.  He is a blessing.    I think I will take off this coming weekend for the SVAFC.  MH encouraged me to.  Been there a lot.  Need more rest.  Still having new pains from my accident.

    Warmer today.  Cooler tomorrow with rains in the afternoon & overnight.  Then a couple of dry days and rain next weekend.

My grandpa Boppa was born here.  All that is left  of the town.  It was located on a tall hill & the  trains had trouble getting in the town so it moved to a lower location.

We were all awake & up at 530am.  Took photos & made a collage.

 

                                                      

   

 

07/2025 - Jueves the 03rd - JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Aurora

I had an ancestor with that first name.  She had mental problems & was found dead in a pond.  Never knew her.  Long timre ago.  When Willie was a semi truck driver we went through Nebraska town with a similar name often.  Looks like a nice town.  I should take a drive there some time.

    

    Had a great day.  Finally.  Plus I slept well all night.  Finally!!  

    Today was thursday.  And each thursday I meet with 3 friends for lunch.  Today we chose the Öl Stuga.  And, oh lordy, it was packed.  We ended up in the back room at the furthest east table!!  MM was supposed to work but he was not well.  Should have been admitted to the hospital.  Got better as the day passed.  Plus 2 of my 3 favorite waiters were working.  They are always nice.  Plus I got served my fave cocktail!!

    There was a man sitting next to me at bar.  I did not know him.  And he really never said much until he went to leave.  He was in town to meet several other men for a prayer meeting.  He thought at noon, but it was really for 10am.  He missed it so he stopped at the Stuga for a soft drink.  And his comment to me was something about missing the meeting but he got to meet me.  A nice compliment.  One of a few things that made my day.  He can come back and sit with me anytime!!

    I sent MM a text every where I went in case he needed me.

    After lunch I was off to the Hutchinson Clinic to pick up some meds.  Easy trip.  Got a good parking place.  But, for the first I got lost inside the clinic.  But when I was leaving & got to my elevator it was not working.  Had to take the steps.  Sheesh.

    Then before home I was thirsty & wanting a snack.  Went to Sonic.  I was able to drive in to a parking spot.  When I left to go home the line to get in was almost all the way to Wichita!!   😊. Well, not quite but I got there at the right time.

    The highway had more traffic than usual too.  Holiday traffic.  Not me.  I am home alone tomorrow.  No July 4th celebration for me.  We always used to go to the fireworks but they quit that several years ago.  Not driving to another place after dark.  I just do not care.  Holidays are for groups of families or groups of friends.  I have no group of anyone anymore,

    All the ponds going to Hutch are gorgeous.  And very full.  We have not had that kind of rain near me.

    Storms tomorrow.  Maybe.  Or tonight.  My knee is telling me.  For the last few days my left knee hurts like hell but only when I sit.  Walking is ok.  Odd.

    I should not be watching the news.  Makes my blood pressure climb.  Why oh why did I not move away years ago while I could.  Far away.  At least Colorado or Vegas or another country.  What a different life I would have in many, many ways.
