National Tequila Day

Celebrate National Tequila Day the right way - with a margarita in one hand and tacos in the other! Cheers!

    Well, summer is definitely here.  Miserably so.  It was 99.9F at my house.  Neighbours had 101F.  Miserable.  The week will continue to get hotter every day.  No chance of rain.  Next week not much better. 

    Cinder was out most of the afternoon.  Weird cat.  She came in long enough to eat & drink.  Then back out.

    My grandson MM is working for a new man in town.  And seems to be having fun.  Lots of new activities for him.  And today I became friends with his new friend, PW.  They took a trip today to pick up something.  MM texts me quite often.  Nice for me.  And maybe for him.  He is the only one to text me often.  Others just ignore me.  Or send a general text on FB.

    Allergies are bothering me this year.  I used to have allergies really bad.  Then Willie's & my house burned down.  And we moved.  No allergies after moving.  Something growing here bothered me.  Years later we moved back & I am bothered sometimes but not so bad.

    This year allergies have settled in my eyes.  Now my eyes itch bad daily.  Lotion & makeup make them worse but even without anything, they itch.  No fun.  I have super dry eyes from RA & Sjogrens.  I use a prescription eye drop for dryness.  I ordered another one I used to use to use between doses.  Might help a little.

    I managed to carry out about 4-5 sacks of trash.  I waited until the temp had dropped a bit.  Have a little breeze.  Wind tomorrow.

    Photos are some old ones I blended a while ago.  Just for fun.  The first photo is me & my grandparents.  The couple on the left are Dad's mother & stepfather.  The wedding couple is Mom's parents.  Both my grandmothers died around the time I was 3 years old.  I have no memories of either of them.  Wish I did.  If one or both had lived my life would have been different & better.  But Karma reared its ugly head & that was not to be.

                        

10 february, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    When I slept, I slept good.  But before that I had strong eczema flare up.  Something new for me.  It was better this morning.

    Today was my SoftWave treatment day.  It is working.  No hip pain & little knee pain this week.

    I had been out of Pepsi for a couple of days.  After the chiropractor I stopped at Dairy Queen for a Pepsi & caffeine fix.  But the waiter knows my voice & heard what I usually order.  He had made me a small ice cream cone.  And he gave it to me free!!  He is so nice.  Would be fun to be friends with him.  Maybe?

    I stopped at my pharmacy to get my insulin.  Last time it cost me $125.  Today it was only $15.  About time someone has taken action against greedy big pharma!!

   Then I picked up JR to eat at Jalisco's.  It was pretty quiet.  Had not been there all week.  Good to be back & to be feeling better.

     Before we ate I saw my neighbor in town.  We had a great visit.  He is a good friend of JS also.

    While eating JS started texting me about my day.  I will video chat with him soon.

12 november, 2022 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    I worked at the Old Mill in the office while my boss was out of town giving a program.  It was beyond slow.  I had 5 people come in for self guided tours.  They were all nice.  I forgot my phone charger so I had to ration using it.  But there was a newspaper I read & Halloween candy I got into!!

    AP, new worker, came in to close it all up.  Have to lock up the main building & roller mill.  And we have an old town set up that all the doors have to be locked.  But we had time to chat for over 30 minutes.  I really did not know him but I do now.  We had a nice talk.  Found we have things in common.

    Got home & Nico started right away being a brat!  My payment for being gone.  He is a mess!!  I finally got a long stick to threaten him with.  I would never hit him but the sound scares him.  He wants to eat but people food.  I cannot eat until my Pepsi is cold.  Another 20 minutes.  Plus he has food of his own to eat.

    It got sooo cold last nite. I saw 15F last night. Today the high was 36F.  They are still mentioning snow for the next week but I assume not for us.  A friend in Illinois sent me a photo of her snow.  Soooo jealous.  Just gorgeous!!

    Dad standing in front of the only flying B29 at that time.  Named Fifi.  Now there is a second one named Doc that flies.  Cool to see them.  Last time one was in Salina I cried when I heard it start & fly by.  I have tears just writing this.

Dad's crew in WWII.  He is the first one in the back row.  Plane is named after their commander. Last name was Hapgood.  Dad stayed friends with him after the war.  And many of their crew kept in touch.  I remember a couple that visited.
