01/2025 Måndag the 06th - Wandering & Capturing Moments (Real Blog)

 

This is a real blog, not just more of my birthday.

    Slept good last night.  House was a bit chilly.  Cats stayed close at times.  The two of then had good naps in our bedroom.  I would walk by but they just went back to sleep.

     I got up around 1030am just before my soap operas came on.  So grateful for my TV.  This afternoon my TV suddenly died.  I was scared I lost electricity.  But it was Kisse walking on my power strip.  Whew!!!

     Last night we all got like a siren like warning on our cell phones telling people in Kansas to stay off the roads that they are not safe to drive on.  Second day in a row that happened.  But.  Do people listen??  Hardly.  Many people asking on my group of Lindsborg Now how were roads going here or there.  Then they get in the way of road crews,  NO ONE needs to be going anywhere.  Stay home.  Leave other people, work, family alone except for life & death situations.

    People are sure bored.  Every time I check on Lindsborg Now around every hour or two there are anywhere of 3 to 10 people wanting to join.  And if those people would read our rules & obey them it would save me a lot of time.  I swear I am going to just refuse to let people join instead of explaining to them in messages most do not read how to join correctly.  Grrrr.

    Middle of the afternoon my personal road crew (nephew & kids) cleared my drive way.  I was out after that.  Not easy to walk in  10 inches of snow.  I walked a little bit.  I had 3 bulls staring at me.  Obvous they wanted something.  Water or food??!!  Or both.

    Then a bit after that my person sidewalk, car, carport, crew showed up.  Nephew & kids.  My car is cleaned.  So is my porch & carport..  But I am now absolutely forbiden from walking on the concrete.  Snow gone, ice still there & super slick.  Not going anywhere.  Staying put here.

    Think I am home until friday.  I have told them at work I am not driving until the temps are over 30F.  Not safe.  I have something coming in the mail on wednesday I have to sign for.  Will just stay home.  My vision is just too bad to push when or where I drive.

    MM was helping people in town whose cars are buried.  Burst something in his truck buSTUGAt will be fixed tonight.  Worked a little at the ÖL Stuga.

    More snow forecast for thursday night & friday.  Not much & no wind.  The weathermen are wrong so many times it is hard to know what to believe.  But they nailed this blizzard,  Amazing,  I love the snow.  Been a long, long dry time for Kansas.  And the whiners who hate winter are whining.  Like me about super hot, dry, humid, full of bugs summers.  They are awful.

Today's Name Day:  Abel, Set

    A so-so day until late afternoon when it changed to awesome!!!

    Temps a little cooler today.  Strong winds in the western half of the state.  Not here.  But since I took some trash out I see it is blowing here now,  Having gusts around 40mph.'  Maybe some snow near here later.

    I lost my tv a few days ago.  I ordered a new remote but it did not work.  I gave up today & called DishTV.  Got the nicest lady to help me.   She wanted me to read things on my dvr box but I cannot see.  But eventually we worked it out & my new remote is now paired with my tv & dvr.  And I have tv again.  She & I were both happy.  Nice lady.

    So sad we lost President Carter.  What an honorable man.  Wish we had someone like him again.  I am very worried about our country.  We need lots of help to survive.

    A relative of mine made comments about President Carter that were so hateful.  Relative was a member of the gop so of course he would never like a Democrat.  I was so ashamed.  I am sure he said those things many times.

    I woke up early this morning & got up to the sofa.  My first sight was a llama in the pasture.  They are adorable.  And today KN brought lots of cattle home.  I am excited to have them near again.

    JR kind of wanted to eat out tonight but I was rudely awakened around 830am & never got back to sleep.  And no nap.  I spent the afternoon preparing a path to the tv in case a repairman needed to come here.  I am so tired & shaky.  Another friend wanted to see me in town but I was too tired & too busy.  I should sleep good tonight.

    I talked with MM & KW.  Both are still kind of sickly.  So is their youngest boy.  I am still soaking myself in essential oils.  So far I OK.

    Good to have things in better order in the living room.  Cannot work here tomorrow.  Gone to see a doctor.

 National Lighthouse Day

Today's Name Day: Denise, Dennis

    Today was a pretty good day.  Except for the huge black flies that invaded the basement at the Old Mill.  Even one of us getting super violent with a fly or two it did not scare them.  Sheesh.  One even flew under my glasses on my eye!!!  Awful!

    I finished photos in Folder "G", sorted Folder "H", and got started scanning it.  Folder "G" had a couple of photos of a niece on her engagement & wedding.  Long time ago.  The wedding failed.  She is on her 2nd or 3rd wedding now.  Folder "H" has a couple of photos of another niece showing her cattle at one of the fairs.  Not too current though.  She was a child then, adult now.

    Supper was Mexican.  One of the wait staff had quit & moved on.  Then he had a change of heart.  He was back today.  I am so glad to see him.  I like him.  Known him for many years.   And I think he likes me also.  😊

    One of the kitchen workers speaks little to no English.  He & I had our first conversation with each other in only spanish.  Not in sentences but a single word here & there.  I was proud of us.  I told him I was "tired".  (cansada)  And he asked me "work".  (trabajo)  I said "si".  (yes)  Very cool..  We both smiled!!!

    Dessert was a snow cone.  I am pretty sure they will close next week.  School opening is soon.  I am sad.  😞

    It is rather scary that we have astronauts in the space center that were to be on an 8 day trip only.  Been there for several weeks already.  They may not get home now until February.  😱  I am scared for them.  Hope they are getting overtime pay!!!  

    Great weather today.  High was 95F & no humidity.  It felt ok.  Saw a friend who works at our local nursing home walking on Main Street with a sweet lady in a wheelchair getting some fresh air.  He is an angel!!

    I had a coffee date tomorrow but my diabetic doctor called & he has some meds for me.  And I need to have fasting lab done too.  Maybe friday.

What a surprise!!!  I had one of these for dessert tonight!!!  Pretty cool!!!

    I had a good day.  Not quite enough sleep but a little less pain.  A RA flare is not fun.  My hands are the worst.  And my right calf.  And my neck.  And I am twice as tired as I usually am.  Just hard to move & do anything,

    Today was a work day.  I did the entire  "F"  folder.  Kind of a thin folder. Then I sorted through the "G" folder.  It is a bit thin also.  Found an engagement & wedding photos of our niece that has not spoke to us in years.  Great to be part of a truly disfunctional family.  Photos are good for my genealogy.  Hope future relatives appreciate them.  Her mother hated Willie & me.  Oh, the trouble she caused.  Better without them.  The marriage never survived.  She has moved on.

    Our new director of the Old Mill started working yesterday.  So I got to meet her today.  She is super nice & friendly.  I think she will be a good addition to us.  She has soooo much to learn!!!

    My stomach got upset after lunch & JR was ill yesterday so I decided no Mexican for us.  We got pizza.  I only had 2 pieces.  Then an ice sandwich for dessert.  On its national day!!  Who knew!!

    I was so tired that when I got home I laid down & napped for an hour or so.  Feel better now.  I woke up & quickly did my spanish lesson.  It was pretty easy.

    Cinder is in & now it is blog time.  And catching up on my soaps.

    Another ok weather day.  No storms, low humidity, & a high of 95F.  Not awful like usual.  No big chance of rain anytime soon.  The drought has gotten worse.  Wichita KS is now on an enforced water rationing.  And if you water your yard on the wrong day or the wrong time it will cost you a fine.  Hopefully this helps or the enforced rationing will get worse.  Scary.
