National Hard Candy Day 

Today's Name Day is Isak

    Had a really good day.   Other than Nico keeping me up often during the night.   But no problem.   Whatever he wants.    

    I met Mikael for lunch at Jalisco's.   Good to spend time with him & chat.   I need to be with people more than staying home alone.   Jalisco's was super busy.   When I got there it was quiet & Miguel & I had a chance to visit a bit.   Later we could barely say hi!!!   That is good though.

     Came home & took a nap.   The minute my head hit the pillow I was out.   Nice nap.

    Picked JR up at 5 & we were off to Salina.   Had supper at Arby's.   Had my fave ---- beef sandwich & an apple turnover.   Perfect.   Then we drove around to look at Christmas lights.   They were all so pretty.   But my favorite house had not one light.   Did they sell their house?   Are they gone for the holidays?   Their house is HUGE.   Probably 3 stories.   Looked foreboding all dark.  There are a couple of places I like to go.   Hit them all.   I did not take one photo.  Too much traffic.   But I enjoyed seeing them all.   I need to just take some photos in Lindsborg.  This week sometime.

    Nico must not feel good tonight,   I fed him before eating my supper but he was not interested in a treat or anything when I got home.   Just water.   He is getting sicker.   Now he is napping.   What a worry.   My stress gets worse every day.   I don't want to lose my baby puppy.   We have been together for over 9 years.

24 february, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

 

    I was done before I got up.  No sleep until 7am or 8am.  I cancelled the entire day.  Just could not do it.

    During the night Nico decided he could not jump out of bed.  Huh??  And that was it.  No going outside then.  I swear he is getting dementia.  Then this morning when he did go out he stepped on something that made him limp & walk on 3 legs.  His foot looked ok to me.  Who knows?

    Cinder was in all night.  She went out for a super short time in the extreme cold & not again.  She just stayed in bed.  Smart kitty.  I saw 7F last night and only 27F today.

    I tried to nap but low blood sugar stopped me from an entire nap.

    JR & I ate at Jalisco's.  They had steady business.  I had not had my fave shrimp dinner for a long time.  It was very good.  Good to see the staff.

    Quiet day.  No texts or anything from anyone.  Hard to be alone.  Makes me sad.  I sent one message that has not been read yet.

    Photos are a mix of memories.  The first photo is of the moon, Jupiter, & Venus taken tonight.  The second photo is of me with a Swedish soccer coach on my left & her family on my right.  Her name is Pia Sundhage.  It was a huge honor to meet her.  Cool lady.  The third photo is of my 3 great grandsons.  I made it a couple of years ago.

                

14 october, 2022 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    Nice day.  Slept well.  Nico must sense the weather is going to get cold.  When I rested this afternoon he stayed under the covers the entire time.

    We sat out for a while before I left for supper.  He & Cinder had time to say Hello & interact.  They are cute together.  While out, I saw our 2 deer headed to the pond.  They are so sweet looking.  Nice to give Cinder some attention also.

    Supper with JR at Jalisco's.  They were quiet when we got there then it got busier.  I guess this morning they were really busy.  Got to talk to all the kitchen help.  When we got there was one of my favorite artists.  I got to chat a bit with him.  On our way out was another favorite artist.  We got to visit also.  Her son had been here from another state but I missed seeing him.  But we are on FB & chat.

    I called my propane supplier to see if they can fix my heater so it gets propane to it.  They did it last november.  Getting cold & might need a little heat.  They even have said it might get down to 29F or so.  That might be a sofa night if I have no heat.  We were in the 80s today.  Pleasant outside with a nice breeze.  My oak tree is really losing leaves!!!  And the acorns are dropping fast!  One hit my carport roof & it sounded like someone shot at us!!!

12 october, 2022 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    I had a good  & busy day!!!  Started a bit early.

    First my friend from Morocco needed some money sent to a business partner.  Morocco is hard to transfer money to & from.  So I helped.  Then Verizon put a hold on it.  Sheesh.  Then I was at work when I found out it was held.  I could not do anything then.  But the day got better.

    My boss at the Old Mill, LL, had two meetings today.  They were both in the basement so I could not do my work.  She wondered if I would be interested to work in the upstairs office taking care of customers.  I agreed!

    I usually go home at 4pm but today it was it 530!  It was fun!  I sold several things & checked two parties of campers into out camp ground.  And 3 people did tours.  I know I made errors but nothing that could not be fixed.  Next time will be better.  I like meeting people who come to visit out town.  And here the nice things they have to say.  At least I do not have to give tours.  It is a self guided tour.  Two buildings & an old town with authentic buildings, one of which was built in Sweden & donated to the college.

    The last man to come in was from Texas & rented a camping space.  We had a fun chat about farming, etc.  Before he left he actually told me I looked great --- hair is pretty, great makeup, nice scarf, & nice outfit.  Wow.  I told him he made my week.  Actually he made my month.  I am still beaming!  No one ever tells me I look nice like that.  A special moment.  Wish I had it on tape!!

    One of our new employees, AP, I do not know well.  We don't interact too often.  Today we actually joked with each other.  Nice moments.

    I had a phone call at work  It was Santa Claus!!!  Actually the man who plays Santa at Christmas at the Mill.  Sweet man!  Hope he sees that I get a gift but since we do not celebrate, my chances are pretty slim.

    Finally went home to take care of Nico.  Then back to get JR & head to Jalisco's for supper.  A nice realaxing supper.  Ahhhh.  JS was in a good mood even though he had some problems this morning.  We videoed at my work.  I worry about him.  Hope it all works out.  At supper he & I joked with a mutual friend on my phone.  Good evening.

    I have learned a new sentence.  I can now say in spanish "I will see you on friday".  Each new sentence is major for me.  I am a little slow so I should practice when in the car or somewhere alone.

    Really had nice weather.  Temps were 47F & 75F.  Wind really came up this afternoon.  We are in a fire warning area for a couple of days.  Cooler weather coming.  Great!

09 october, 2022 Wandering & Capturing Moments

                                                                         

    Today is Leif Erikson Day.  Here long before anyone else.  I never mention the "holiday" that tomorrow is.

    I had a much better day today.  I slept more & would have slept more time if Nico had quit barking at god knows what.  He made it sound like Godzilla was in our yard!

    I lost a bit of sleep when I felt sick around 2am.  I checked my blood sugar & it was scary low!!  So I ate some stuff & then all was ok.  Thought I ate enough for supper.  So far ok today.

    JR & I had lunch at Jalisco's.  It was very slow then got really busy.  There was a class reunion in town this weekend & thought maybe some of them would eat in there.  I did not see anyone.

    Lunch was a struggle for me.  My stomach did not feel well.  I only could eat half of my burrito.  Ice cream was better.  I was going to have JR come here to help me move some things but I was too tired.  Nico slept as long as I did too!

    I sat outside for quite a while.  Nico sunbathed while Cinder gave us both attention!  It was so nice out until I saw a mosquito.  Then in I went.  Our temps were 43F & 76F.  Local weather said maybe rain on monday.  Quite doubtful.  Next 2 days too warm.  Hope they are wrong.

    Watching a tv show about Cleopatra.  Quite interesting.  Better than network shows.  Nice to learn something new.  Or somethings new.

02 october, 2022 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    Had a good night & a quiet day.  My blood sugar is still very high.  Stays in the 300s.  Wish I new why.  I got a new box of insulin.  Hope that makes a difference.  I am grasping at straws.  My RA seems worse.  I am hurting all over my body.  I had a sweet friend who lived like this.  It scares me that maybe that is my future.  Tired of pain.  I try not to mention it because so few people care about anyone other than themselves.  No more whining.  Sorry.

    Lunch was at Jalisco's.  They were really slow for a while then they got very busy.  We left then.  I needed to get home.  I was so tired.

    Did nothing this afternoon.  Just rested with Nico.  In a really blah mood.  Pain & loneliness are the pits for me.

    Weather is nice.  Temps were 55 & 86.  Nice.

    My turkey vultures are still here.  Just saw one when I came home.  No winter birds here yet.  I have heard a bird here frequently but did not know what it was.  Saw I saw it today.  It is a flicker.  Very cool.  And no deer here since Nico was running after them!

    Quiet evening.  Did have an email from a cousin in KY.  I have neglected in calling him.  I apologised.

    While I was at lunch, my friend from Morocco did a video text with me.  He is so sweet.  Wish we lived closer to each other.
