Today's Name Day:  Eilert, Evert

I have known an Eilert.  Willie had an uncle Everette.

    Today was a good day.  Slept good.  It rained with lightning & thunder overnight.  Less pain for a change.  And my blood sugar mostly was ok.

    Met LL for lunch at the White Peacock today.  Been far too long since we met.  Nice conversation.  T"hey were comfortably busy.

    When I left for town there was no rain at my house but on the Burma Road it poured down!!  Got to town it was light rain then it stopped.

    Today was my first day back at work.  Finished the small pile of photos I had waiting for me.  They were mostly boring ones.  Few names.  Then I started on the next pile of photos.  They were much worse.  I knew no one & neither did LL.  Lots of kids with no idea what was going on.

    Picked up JR for supper.  There was no parking spots anywhere near Jalisco's.  Only place was the handicap parking spot near the Sale BARn so that was where we ate.  Short walk for me.  Good to see the three waiters I know.  All were friendly.  JR tried something new that he really liked.  I had one that I like & a salad instead of fries.  We ended up at the Barnyard Creamery for ice cream for dessert.  They are soon closing for the winter months.  Will miss them.

    I was tired & had a short nap when I got home.  Kids too.

08/2025 - Lunes the 18th - JOURNEY

Today's Name Day:  Ellen, Lena

I had a cousin name Ellen Jewel, I have several cousins in Sweden named Lena.  Love that name.  Not pronounced Leenah.

    Today was a good day.  Other than the weather.  Hotter than hell today. When I drove to Lindsborg it was 100F.  Double ick.  After I got home tonight the humidity was deathly.  Where oh where is autumn????

    Had a nice nap with Cinder curled next to me the entire time purring the entire time.  Very nice.

    JR & I ate at Jalisco's for supper.  They are closed for at least a week.  Changing the carpet, cleaning the bricks, changing all the art work.  No idea about the tables & chairs.  They are not super old, but who knows.  They are from Mexico.  Very cool.  We sat near the front door.  I got a good photo of the entire inside.  Several people praised me for taking it & how good it will help show the new look.  All are excited,

    MM called while we were still in Jalisco's.  He was starving & wanted to order food from there if I could deliver.  Of course.  Will help him get groceries sometime in the next 2 days.

    JR & I got some groceries & ice cream bars for dessert.

    A hurricane is due to hit North Carolina & is a Category 4 storm.  And now there is no FEMA to help with cleanup & support.  Sad.  They are so screwed.  Very sad for the US.  😱

    There is a thunderstorm west of us now.  Hope we get some cooler air & rain.  I am in the processing of learning to paise wherever I go.  I praised that storm to the max on the way home.

07/2025 - Miércoles the 30th- JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Algot

    Had a great day out in the world. at last.

    MM called me right as my alarm went off this morning.  Asked me out to lunch.  Of course I said yes.  I got dressed & picked him up at his home.  We ate Mexican.  I had a burger and fries.  Saving Mexican for supper.

    I try to learn bits & pieces of Spanish to use.  I learned to order my Mexican coke in spanish.  And MA what I said was correct but he would say it differently.  I say it his way.  May be where he is from or how is parents said it.  But I always say it his way. 

    I worked at the Old Mill this afternoon.  Boring photos,  But they are moving along.  One photo had 2 of my favorite people.  Miss them so much!

    Supper was Mexican again.  I had my burrito.  Good.  I declined ice cream.  Decided to wait to get groceries then decide about ice cream.  Got a small dish of soft serve with caramel sauce.  Perfect.  I hate to say no to MA but he understands,

    Kids were both so glad when I got home.  Nice to be missed!!   Both wanted petting.  And got what they wanted.

 

    I did my spanish lesson.  It has been just awful lately.  Very frustrating.  Tonight was much easier.  What a relief.  Fun to do better.

    Weather was a bit better.  Still really humid but cooler.  I saw 85F for a high.  Then in town it rained. Very nice.  At my house, not a drop.  Of course.

    Mosquitos are horrible.  I have patches to wear to repel mosquitos & another for Ticks.  I added one to my top for mosquitos.  I noticed at lunch there was a fly around.  It left me alone.  Going home I got a mosquito in my car.  It wanted out in the worst way.  I stopped & opened my window & out he went.  They might work.  Got a bite on my ankle.  Going to bed with one on my ankle & one on my shoulder.

This a seismograph in Saline County showing the 8.8 earthquake in Russia.  This is MY county.  Unbelieveable!!!
