07/2025 - Domingo the 13th- JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Joel, Judit

I am friends with a Joel now.  Have a Judy who is a cousin in KY.  Best friend in high school was Judy.

    Had a nice day.  My glucose sensor woke me twice during the night but then I slept good.

    MM called me this morning with an invite to lunch today.  Very nice lunch.  Good to see him feeling better.  Nice time.  Jalisco's was really busy. I miss eating there on sunday noons.  Miss some of the sunday regulars.

    Took a nap after lunch.  Nice.  And again my glucose sensor woke me again but it was near my alarm time.

    Got up & did my spanish lesson.  It was awful.  I really struggled today.  Miserable.

    Supper was ok.  So far no beeping sensor.  Good.  Nice for a change.

    The weather sucked today,  My house never got very cool.  In the 90s today.  No rain here.  We had one measely cooler day and the next few days are hot.  Typical Kansas July.  I hate it.  Every day is a day closer to autumn.

    No flowers to photograph.  Need to drive the back roads and see if I can find any.  But I have lots of old ones.

    I have a little less pain today.  Makes life better.

    Cinder has been extra snuggly today.  I like that.  Kisse is not quite as snuggly but she hangs close.  Both are sleeping now.  Again.

04/2025 Måndag the 28th - Wandering & Capturing Moments

 

Today's Name Day:  Ture, Tyra

    Today was a day of rest only.  Both cats were thrilled.  The three of us all cuddled together.

    Severe weather now but not near me.   They had huge hail & high winds.  Keep it there.  JR can see the clouds so he & his camera are outside.  I am sure I could see them but staying in.  It is 85F here now.  Hate the heat.  I have the AC on so the house is ok.

    Tomorrow is trash day but there will be no trash outside.  The bins are tipped over & the wind is gusting up to 30mph.  No need to try to set them up.  I have a couple of bags of trash but they can wait.  With all the cold fronts coming & going I am in constant pain.  And no offers of help so I wait.  Used to get help but not any more.  Given up getting an offer.  My problem.  No one else needs to care.

    Phone call from my cousin with some disturbling news.  Hoping for the best.  She will be here in a couple of weeks.  Hopfully we get to meet for lunch.  I hate not being able to go to Denver so we can lunch, shop, & visit.  Those were good days.  But I cannot drive or fly without help anymore.  And all family is too busy there for me to visit anyway.

    Quiet texting day.  That is ok.  People are busy.

    I am not working at all this week at the Old Mill.  Have a doctor's appointment that cancelled one day.  And next weekend there is a big festival at the Mill.  Friday they have hundreds of kids come in from different schools to tour people there showing crafts, animals, singing, dancing, etc.  And the next day they turn the Mill on for people to tour.  Wish I could be there.  They have a video of it running.  I need to watch.  I work one  day at the SVAFC.  That is good.

    No cattle or llamas today.  If I saw a llama I would take my phone out.

    I have tried to use smaller purses with my cane but have given up.  Hard to get all I want in my purse & hard to take out what I need.  And no way to take my blood meter with me.  Got a new purse that will be much better.  I have a tiny purse in the car so when I got in to the Stuga for a cocktail & supper I can just bring what I need ---- car keys, money, credit cards, insulin.

02/2025 Torsdag the 06th - Wandering & Capturing Moments

Today Name Day:  Dorotea

    Had a good day.  Nice.  Slept good with little pain. Up & dressed early in preparation for lunch out.

    Went to Crown & Rye to meet 3 friends for lunch.  I am thrilled that these friends are including me to join them for lunches.  One is someone I used to work with, someone I do not know well, & my former boss at the Red Barn.  I enjoyed it.  Great conversation.  I ordered Swedish Pancakes.  They were so good even though they do not serve them as I am used to.  Dad & I always had ours with butter & sugar.  I can manage to do that eating out with JR but with new people I simply had syrup & lingonberries.

    I stopped at one bank to deposit my pasture rent check.  Then home.  Cats were both napping & soon so was I!

    It was a bit warmer today.  Did not need my coat.  But next week is another story.  Super cold temps, snow that might cause some trouble driving.  Two separate snow times.  OK with me.  I love winter & snow.

    Cinder was napping in the living room while I napped.  When I woke up she moved to my. lap.  She is a great cuddler.  Kisse usually cuddles next to my lap.

    My photos are snowy photos from Lindsborg from a few years ago.  The last two photos are from a pasture on the way to Hutchinson.  It looks a bit different now.  They have added some old tractors near the chapel.  Next time I go I will stop for new photos.

12/2024 Onsdag the 18th - Wandering & Capturing Moments

 

Made sure all 3 kids were included.  Still hurting bad without Nico.  He deserved better.  Makes me hurt worse.

Today's Name Day:  Abraham

    Had a so-so day.  My eyes were scratchy & with trouble focusing.  Decided to stay home from work.  Cinder was sleeping on my chest & agreed!!!  She always agrees with cuddling & treats!!  Evening is a big treat time for both cats.  They beg all day.  I refilled their litter boxes a day ago,.  Decided they did not like the new litter.  Today it is ok.  Great!!!

    Had a great delivery in the mail this morning.  JR & I each got a can of popcorn.  We always used to have that for Christmas.  Missed it so I treated us to each a can.  That was my lunch.  Very good!!!

    Had a nice nap.  With Cinder cuddling.  Always good.  Kisse has started something new.  When I go to bed, she goes to bed.  After she wears us both out getting me to give her tons of petting she calms down & cuddles up next to me for. along time.  And even Cinder can join us & no trouble from anyone.

    JR & I ate Mexican tonight.  Vision still crappy but my eyes don't hurt now.  Used some warm, wet masks that help my eyes feel better.  I saw a product to heat your eyes with.  Ordered it & like it.  But using a wet warm cloth is nice also.  Cannot wait for my laser procedure.  Would do it tomorrow if I could.

    I sorted through my Christmas lights photos yesterday.  Even took a couple on the way in town today.  Never got good ones the other night of those two places.  Look much better.
