09/2025 - Jueves the 18th - MY JOURNEY

 

        

Today's Name Day:  Orvar

    Today was a very nice day.  Met my thursday friends for lunch.  Only 3 of us today.  We ate at the Öl Stuga.  I got there early so we got a table in the main room.

    MM was supposed to be working but he works tonight.  Good friend CW was working & was our waiter.  I got a nice hello hug & a sweet goodbye hug.  Glad we are friends.

    It was raining all night & when I drove to town my driveway was under water.  Fairly deep.  Sort of had second thoughts but it was ok.  Water had flowed down the drive from my yard & the creek was flowing over it.  When I got home it was deeper.  I could see the water flowing over from the creek.  I went slow & no problem.  In the last 2 days I have had over 2 inches of rain.  Amazing.  More forecast.

    My one lunch friend's husband has a printer that prints plastic things.  He gathered some of his smaller toys to give to me for my great grandsons.  Hope they visit soon!!!  They will have fun.

    I got home to take a nap but I got very little sleep.  Beeping woke me up.  Thought it was my glucose monitor but was not.  Thought it was my phone. Nope.  It was my weaether radio.  Poor radio signal.  Then I had to reset the time.  So much for sleep.  Cinder was all cuddly but we both gave up.

    I fueled my car.  Glad I remembered.  I was on fumes!!!  Scary!!!  Years ago I actually ran completely ran out.  Many years ago.  But I have yet to year the end of it.  Sheesh.  Gets tiring hearing about my failures.

    My memories in FB today brought up a photo of my son's daughter.  I can no longer see his kids or communicate with them..  Painful.  I only protected my life from being taken advantage & losing my only source of income but I am the one suffering.  And the kids.  Not fair to me or them.  But no one cares.  Karma will take care of it.  Probably has already started from what I have heard.

    Photos are from today & autumn photos.  Monday is the first day of Autumn.  Finally!!!!  Begone summer & humidity & bugs!!!

I have no idea about this tractor but it sits on a pad surrounded by large rocks.  I finally got a photo of it.  Very cool!

07/2025 - Domingo the 13th- JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Joel, Judit

I am friends with a Joel now.  Have a Judy who is a cousin in KY.  Best friend in high school was Judy.

    Had a nice day.  My glucose sensor woke me twice during the night but then I slept good.

    MM called me this morning with an invite to lunch today.  Very nice lunch.  Good to see him feeling better.  Nice time.  Jalisco's was really busy. I miss eating there on sunday noons.  Miss some of the sunday regulars.

    Took a nap after lunch.  Nice.  And again my glucose sensor woke me again but it was near my alarm time.

    Got up & did my spanish lesson.  It was awful.  I really struggled today.  Miserable.

    Supper was ok.  So far no beeping sensor.  Good.  Nice for a change.

    The weather sucked today,  My house never got very cool.  In the 90s today.  No rain here.  We had one measely cooler day and the next few days are hot.  Typical Kansas July.  I hate it.  Every day is a day closer to autumn.

    No flowers to photograph.  Need to drive the back roads and see if I can find any.  But I have lots of old ones.

    I have a little less pain today.  Makes life better.

    Cinder has been extra snuggly today.  I like that.  Kisse is not quite as snuggly but she hangs close.  Both are sleeping now.  Again.

04/2025 Måndag the 28th - Wandering & Capturing Moments

 

Today's Name Day:  Ture, Tyra

    Today was a day of rest only.  Both cats were thrilled.  The three of us all cuddled together.

    Severe weather now but not near me.   They had huge hail & high winds.  Keep it there.  JR can see the clouds so he & his camera are outside.  I am sure I could see them but staying in.  It is 85F here now.  Hate the heat.  I have the AC on so the house is ok.

    Tomorrow is trash day but there will be no trash outside.  The bins are tipped over & the wind is gusting up to 30mph.  No need to try to set them up.  I have a couple of bags of trash but they can wait.  With all the cold fronts coming & going I am in constant pain.  And no offers of help so I wait.  Used to get help but not any more.  Given up getting an offer.  My problem.  No one else needs to care.

    Phone call from my cousin with some disturbling news.  Hoping for the best.  She will be here in a couple of weeks.  Hopfully we get to meet for lunch.  I hate not being able to go to Denver so we can lunch, shop, & visit.  Those were good days.  But I cannot drive or fly without help anymore.  And all family is too busy there for me to visit anyway.

    Quiet texting day.  That is ok.  People are busy.

    I am not working at all this week at the Old Mill.  Have a doctor's appointment that cancelled one day.  And next weekend there is a big festival at the Mill.  Friday they have hundreds of kids come in from different schools to tour people there showing crafts, animals, singing, dancing, etc.  And the next day they turn the Mill on for people to tour.  Wish I could be there.  They have a video of it running.  I need to watch.  I work one  day at the SVAFC.  That is good.

    No cattle or llamas today.  If I saw a llama I would take my phone out.

    I have tried to use smaller purses with my cane but have given up.  Hard to get all I want in my purse & hard to take out what I need.  And no way to take my blood meter with me.  Got a new purse that will be much better.  I have a tiny purse in the car so when I got in to the Stuga for a cocktail & supper I can just bring what I need ---- car keys, money, credit cards, insulin.
