07/2025 - Martes the 15th- JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Ragnhild, Ragnvald

    Had a good day.  Still hard to walk but am managing.  Stomach no good so I took some meds.  They helped.

    After lunch I shampooed & styled my hair.  Looks 100% better.  After that I tried to take a nap but could not relax enough to sleep.  I gave up.

    JR & I went to supper at Pizza Hut.  I actually ate some pizza.  They were swamped with customers.  Good to see.  

    While eating one of Willie's best friends came in for pizza.  Had not seen him since long before Willie died,  We had a short but nice visit.  Great to see him.  I think he & Willie had a falling out long before he died,  I think his friend just did not realise that he was really sick ---- dementia & alcoholism.  Most of Willie's friends did not like me.  I was not a proper farm wife.  I had a life besides sitting in a tractor.  I was a city girl.  None of their business.

    Then on to get some groceries.  I just needed around 5 things.  Nothing too big.  And a newspaper.  Cinder was out of her treat meat.  She was glad when I got home & shared!!!

    Ended the evening with an ice cream sandwich from Dollar General,  Very good.

    Had several boxes from Amazon on my porch.  I dreaded dealing with them.  It is a monthly supplies.  Paper products,  chips, cookies, soaps, cat food.  Easier to deal with them on my porch than going in a store & carry then twice or more.  And with no backup I do what I can to make life easier for me.  Although MM says I should call him to help.  Bless him & love him.

    Heard from our cousin in Kentucky.  He & I had a long visit online.  Chatted about my weather & our families.  Good chat

    Heard from MM & another friend.  The friend checks on me often.  Besides MM she is almost the only one who checks daily to see if I am ok.

    Awful weather today.  I saw 99F here.  Ick.  Around 6am the humidity was 98%.  Tonight it is 30%.  No rain near us here.

    The sunset was incredible.  Will share tomorrow.  Took photos.  Look pretty good.  And it is really showing how the days are getting shorter.  I sure noticed it tonight.  😁

    Got home & what a surprise!! My yard & driveway was all mowed.  I tried to call KN but must be busy.  Looks nice.

06/2025 - Jueves the 26th- JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Lea, Rakel

    Had a good day considering I had little sleep last night.  And no nap today.

    Had lunch with 2 friends at Pizza Hut.  I just had french fries.  I had a small breakfast mid morning.  Had a good visit  but I know I always talk too much.  Probably because I see people so rarely.  I am always sorry.  And we got a cool printer gift from the one friend's husband.  Fun!!

    I ordered groceries last night.  Picked them up around 2pm.  Got all but one thing.  Lots of things I never get since I am clueless.  Got my favorite potato salad.  And several different lunch meats.  Change is good.  Tired of the same ole same ole.  Need to do this all the time.

    Got a text from MM that he needed to see me.  Just as I parked at his house, there was a loud clap of thunder then heavy rain.  My grandpuppy was outside & hates storms.  Name is Gracie.  She curled up next to me & almost on my lap.  Got a nice photo or two.  And lots of love.

    I looked at my radar on my phone.  That tiny storm was the tiniest cloud just over part of Lindsborg.  Did not last long!  But Gracie still needed to cuddle!!

    I helped MM run an errand.  And we talked about his future plans.  We have one future plan that is even fun.  Great.  Something different.

    Got home & had a snack.  Now my blog.  Rain later.  Hope I sleep tonight.  Tomorrow is my extra long day ---- Swedish Friendship Group, lunch with LL, SVAFC, ----  no supper out.  Will be too tired. 

    Heat is arriving.  At least 100F or more.  Then a cooler front comes.

04/2025 Måndag the 21h - Wandering & Capturing Moments

 

Today's Name Day:  Anneli, Annika

    Had a good day & night.  When I went to bed Cinder followed.  And immediately jumped up next to me.  And never left all night.  She was with for most of my nap also.  Kisse was close all day & night.

    Got hotter than I expected today.  Clouds left so the house got up to 80F.  Ick.  I got up from my nap & hit the AC!!!  Feels good tonight.  Great!!

    Supper was pizza.  Tasted OK but my stomach was not thrilled.  The first piece was ok bu the second one was just too much.

    After supper we bought groceries.  Think I am set for a while.  Hope JR is also.  Dollar General has a brand of ham I like much better so we went there for my ham.  And we each had an ice cream sandwich.  Perfect.  My tummy approved.

    I am so sad that Pope Francis has passed away.  I am not Catholic but thought of changing to one once or twice.  Still crosses my mind sometimes. He was one of the good guys & will be missed.  Hope the new pope is a good guy also.

    Measles is spreading fast.  So sad.  And the result of stupidity.  Hate to hear children are dying that did not need to die.  Breaks my heart.  When I was a tiny child I had the measles.  Maybe around 1 year old.  I broke out with them inside my body not on the outside.  Dr. Holwerda came to see me at my grandma's every day after his office hours.  We lived next door to my mom's parents.

    No Colbert.  Dang.  Watching Maddow from earlier tonight.

2025 Fredag the 28th - Wandering & Capturing Moments.

This is a cool Swedish weekly event.  Not doing it when I was there.  Would be fun!

Today's Name Day:  Malkolm, Morgan

Malkolm is a local special name.  Had a wonderful artist in town named Malcom Esping.

    Had a good day.  I finally felt better.  Able to walk better & less pain whether sitting or napping.

    Cats were super lazy today.  Cinder usually comes out of the bedroom to bother me while I am eating lunch.  Both cats stayed in bed today.

    I managed a short nice nap.  Kisse on her chair next to my bed & Cinder laid on my chest.  Love it.  

    Then I got up to dress.  Surprised that my hair looked ok.  Not touched it since I washed it.  Makes a difference to have a good hair cut.  Still working on my new makeup.  Not bad.  Less steps so easier.  Cats saw me in clothes & knew I was leaving.

    Went to town to get meds.  But they weren't done.  So I washed my car.  It all got clean but one place on my windsheild.  Wonder what I got on it??  And I forgot to see if it took the mud off from underneathe.  Will check tomorrow.  Then picked up JR & back to the pharmacy.

    Supper was Jalisco's.  Missed my burritos this week.  Ate one & brought one home.  Felt pretty good out.  Only hurt while eating.

    Groceries after supper.  I was out of too many things I like.  OK now.  Too much to carry in.  Some stayed in the car until tomorrow.  Too tired to go back out.

    Rain comes tomorrow evening.  With an evil cold front that plays havoc with my RA.  Sunday another front & colder weather.  Snow in the NW Kansas.  We never got as warm as they thought it would here today.  Good.

Local bed & breakfast.  It is gorgeous.  I have toured it.  Be fun to stay there.

Dessert tonight after eating.  Will have to do without the chocolate.  Blood sugar got too high tonight.
