6/2026 - Thursday the 18th - MY JOURNEY

How I wish I could travel.  Even Great Bend is too far.  So here I sadly sit.  No friends.  No family.  No choice.

Today's Name Day:  Björn , Bjarne

I am familiar with the name Björn.  Known several in Sweden & in my family/ancestors.  And an actor or two.

    Today was a tough day.  No sleep last night. And woke with a bad headache.  Just rested with my catbabysitters!

    Cooler today.  Less humidity.  Nice.  Great weather here but storms in the southern part of the state.  And heavy rain.

    Hope the rest of my weekend goes better.  Have plans.

    Big Midsommars celebration in Lindsborg this weekend.  I used to have to work at it but never attend anymore.  Too hard to walk.  And no one to go with.  No fun to sit alone.

    Not many photos today.  Too tired to care.  And I am a bit shaky.  Think my blood sugar is low.  I ate some crackers & cheese.  Feeling better.

Cinder as an outside cat. She almost got out the other day.  Yikes!

02/2026 - Tisdagen den 17:e - MY JOURNEY

 

Used a new app to create this graphic.  It has cool texting fonts.

Today's Name Day:  Alexandra,  Sandra

Had a friend Sandra I went to school with & we were car hops together at A&W in Lindsborg.

    Another quiet, alone day.  Getting used to it.  At least the weather felt cooler.  It wasn't cooler but no sun helped.  Plus I felt chilly overnight.  Felt good to bundle up under covers.

    Had a long email from JL.  That was about it.  I give up.  Do I have to beg for any slight attention??  I tried. yesterday but only got my comments being liked not truly answered.

    Last night JS & I had a video chat for almost an hour.  He had not taken his pill that helps him sleep yet.  He always has 2 cats on his bed near him.  Cinder laid on me & we had to rub noses.  More than once.  He loved watching her!!  What a sweet baby.  We had a nice visit.  Need his friendship.  Wish he was here.

    We had super high winds in Kansas today.  I think ours was around 40mph.  But in the SW part of the state winds were much higher.  Around 50 - 60mph.  And then fires started.  They had to evacuate people as the fires were moving fast towards their homes..

    Cinder followed me to the kitchen for her lunch treat when I fixed my lunch.  Then she disappeared.  She found a comfy place to nap somewhere.  BUT.  She never showed up again.  She usually follows Kisse & I to the bedroom to nap.  No Cinder.  Could not see her anywhere.  I got worried.  I finally started calling her.  All over the house.  No Cinder.  She finally showed up.  What a relief.  Not sure where she napped.  Sometimes she sleeps on the floor near the TV.  Or she hides in the kitchen.  Now she is back.  And we cuddled for a while.  I even put out extra food that has been ignored.

    I have decided not to work for MH this friday.  I just do not feel good enough to work an extra day.  Tired & sore.

    Saw I just got some mail.  A box no doubt.  Hate to go out to sort through the mail in the dark,  But I am so glad I went out to check.  I had preordered a book from a cool guy I follow on Threads.  And it came today!!  I am excited to get it.  Now for time to read it!!!  And improve me.

    Heavy, heavy snow in Italy Olympics.  Cancelled events yesterday.  Fun to see snow even if not here.

    Just got a text from MM.  Pleasantly surprised.

    Photos are a mix.  I had too many last night so I only used half & saved some for tonight.  Love the art drawing pictures.  I am addicted to them.  One site has tons that can be shared.

02/2026 - Söndag den 1:a - MY JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Max,  Maximilian

Had an Uncle Max in Denver.  He was the best!  He always made sure he took me up in the mountains.  And I went bowling with him & my aunts there.  The last time I saw him was in his nursing home.  I was not sure it was him until he asked me if I wanted to go bowling one more time.  I cry every time I remember that.

    Had an ok day.  Slept good & managed a very short nap.  Was cold overnight but warm today.  My water has not dripped today.  Cool.  I am sure I owe them a boatload of money so far.

    Had an email from JL.  Love hearing from her.  Everyone else was quiet.  

    Tonight had a long text with a classmate.  Rarely hear from him.  We have lost a classmate so I hear from people from my past.  Classmate was a special guy from our class.  Wish he & I had been closer friends.

    JR & I ate at Pizza Hut.  I actually had a pasta dish & ate most of it.  No dessert.  Ate too much.  I have desserts here at home.

    Got home in time to see the Grammys.  Bad Bunny is there but cannot perform at all because he doing the Super Bowl.  But he just won & gave an awesome speech.  Agreed with all he said.  Award was given to him by my fave SNL member, Marcello Hernandez.  Bad Bunny was interviewed before his award.  He has arranged for people in his country to get  places to stay, to eat, etc. that all can afford.  And he is donating lots of money to Puerto Rico.  Good guy.
