Today's birthday celebration at the American Legion. Grandson MM, his girlfriend KW, & their son SM, my great grandson.

Today's Name Day: Sigrid, Siri

(Today is Siri's name day!!!!)

    I had such a fun day!!  I slept pretty good.  They did not meet until 3pm so I slept in late.

    We met at the American Legion.  The usual sunday night crowd was there.  I even knew a 4 or 5 there.  One guy was great friends with my other grandson CF.  (He never years from him either.  I rarely hear.  And he rarely reads what I post.  I am worried about him.)

    KW made chicken enchiladas & cheesecake with chocolate  & caramel sauce over it.  I will pay her to cook for me.  Best meal ever!!

    One minor problem though (MAJOR).  I left my iPhone at home!!  I was lost!!  Thanks that others shared some photos they took.  I am planning to go there every friday as MM works on fridays.  Just fun to sit & people watch.  And get to chat a little,  And the KC Chiefs game was on today.  I am not a football fan but in a group it was fun.  Much better than sitting at home alone.

    I found a post card on of a house in Lindsborg.  I recognised it so I bought. it  It was the old funeral home.  And the house behind it is the house I grew up in until I was in junior high.  Loved that house.

    Great weather today.  The low was 67 & the high was 88.  Small breeze.  

    My depression really was bad last night.  I have it so it comes & goes.  And my RA does not help.  But right now I feel ok.

19 july, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

 National Daiquiri Day

    Last night I totally ate supper all wrong.  Ate.  Then took insulin & ate again.  Not good for me.  Trouble sleeping & then felt ill in the middle of the night.  Did not go away.  Cancelled today.  Could not eat lunch at all.  Just the thought was awful.

    Took a long nap.  Felt good.  During it my nephew came over to cut out the trees next to my house.  Of course Nico went into hyper mode!!  He was scared to go into the bedroom where some of the trees were by the window.  So he ran back & forth on ME.  A bit hard to sleep!!

    My other grandson called today.  And he has a new job.  More changes.  All good though.  Hopefully we say goodbye on friday.  

    Yesterday we were supposed to be 102F.  Not even close.  But high humidity yesterday & today.  Next week is hot & dry.  See if they are correct.

24 march, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    Had a great day.  Up very early.  I had to go to Salina to pick up my grandson CF to take him to Marion KS to pick up a truck he bought.  Had a good trip.

    We stopped in McPherson for lunch.  Tried a new place called Slim Chicken.  He liked it.  I thought it was just ok.  I like chicken like KFC chicken.  This was different.  And my stomach is touchy.  Did not agree.

    The road to Marion is so busy.  When Willie was a trucker we were on that road many times.  Hauling cattle to a packing house in Emporia & then sitting at the cattle sale to haul cattle back again.  It was awful then & has not changed.  Only change is no cattle haulers on that road anymore.  Packing plant is closed.

    The truck seller works for the Marion lake/dam.  The last time JR & I were there the dam was closed & they were working on it.  Got to drive over it today.

    His truck looks pretty good.  Good buy.  He has a camper he bought it to use with the camper.  What fun!

    Went home to rest.  Heard Cinder outside screech.  I went running.  She was on the porch & came back in.  I saw no other cat or anything.  She stayed in.

    I took time to take some photos in the rain of some early flowers.  Some turned out ok.

    JR & I had supper at Jalisco's.  They stayed quite busy & lots of take out foods.

    It rained off & on today.  Not enough to get excited about.  But I enjoyed the cloudy cool weather.

20 January, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    Busy day but nothing major.  All good.  Slept ok with little pain.  My left wrist seems to be the one pain that is pretty constant.  Cinder was in half the night.  And in once today.

    I met my grandson CF for lunch at Jalisco's.  We have decided to make this a weekly date.  Want to keep in touch.  There are others that I should do the same with but they are too busy.  Had a good visit.  And always good to be with the staff there.  Headed into JS's last week here.  I cannot talk about it.  Far too painful.

    This afternoon my nephew came over with a new water heater that I can actually shower & shampoo with hot water.  What a miracle.  I really do not ask for much but so rarely get what I need.

    Then tonight JR & I went back to Jalisco's.  They were not too busy.  Saw 2 friends there.  Always good to be there.

    The weather was calm.  Everything was frosty this morning.  Snow is headed our way.  We can get up to 4 inches.  Right now the storm is on the Colorado  Kansas state line.  I am worried about driving tomorrow.  Wish I could stay home.

    Photos are a mix of things.  The old brick hotel was in Lindsborg.  Unfortunately the city tore it down recently.  Sad to lose history.  Hard to talk about.

                        

15 December, 2022 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    Quiet, uneventful day.  Waiting on grandsons to come out.  Sounds like they are on the way.  I have both fur kids in the bedroom.  Hopefully they get here soon or I will have to turn them out.  But for now it is peaceful.  I can sit where I want on the sofa!  Did get a short nap.    

    Slept good last night.  But no idea what happened while I was sleeping.  Got up to take Nico out & the blanket was turned all around!  Must have been quite  dream!

    I watched Disney A Christmas Carol last night.  It was excellent.  Great effects.  I loved every minute of it.  Watching an old version on sunday.  Not the original though.

    Finished the Harry & Meghan documentery.  Very interesting.  I have a lot of feelings about it but will keep them to myself.  No one cares or I will get made fun of.

    I got my water heater.  One grandson delivered it with his girlfriend.  It is an interesting heater.  Will see if it is ok  If it does not work out, will replace it & have him buy me one & replace it.  Been an interesting afternoon.  Needed new connections so will finish tomorrow.

    I put both fur kids in the bed room.  Nico did not care other than barking when he heard strange noises.  Kissekatt went crazy after I let her out.  Racing around!!

    Photos today are mostly of snow plus one from a Swedish church of where you light candles for others.  When I was in Sunnemo Sweden there was a very old lady lighting a candle.  She had to be in her 80s.  She said to me in Swedish "for my mother".  I got tears.  The Swedish sounds much like the English.

                    

15 october, 2022 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    Had a pleasant day.  Great weather.  Temps 39F & 77F.  No wind today.  Sat outside with Nico.  He loves to roll in the grass & sun.  Then he stretched out on the floor in the sun.  Cinder was gone somewhere probably soaking of the rays also.

    I was out near dark & no turkey vultures to be seen.  Maybe they have left.  With the cold weather forecast they would be wise to be gone.

    My grandson MM called this morning & gave me an update on my water heater.  We decided to have supper together.  But just before it was time to meet, he texted that my youngest great grandson was sick.  Dang.  Hope it is short lived & not serious.

    On my route to town, the last person harvesting is done.  Not sure about my nephew.  Did not see anyone planting either.  We desperately need rain.

    When I went out in midafternoon, Cinder was laying on my lawn chair.  Later she found another box to lay in.  I have her box in the house due to high winds.  Guess I can put it back out now.

    I have made a decision.  I am not doing Christmas cards this year or any other year.  People want to send, good for them.  I am sending nothing back.  It is just too stressful for me.  I tried last year but just failed.  We really do not celebrate Christmas anymore.  What family we have do not include us.  Took my aunt 3 years to figure out that JR & I have no one to celebrate with since Mom died.  I declined her invitation.  My nephew has but I will not leave JR alone on a holiday.  We will eat out or fix something in his office & watch a movie.  We do the same for Thanksgiving.  Life never stays the same.  Things always change.
