Today's Name Day:  John , Jane

My best friend was John Burgers.  He was an awesome artist & I am lucky enough to own several of his. paintings.  I miss him so much.  He is buried near Willie.  I talk to both of them often when I drive by there. And MM's father is near them also.  Always talk to him too.

    Today was just the same ole.  Home alone & napping.  Still in lots of pain.  Extra tired.

    I fed & watered the kittens last night around 1am.  All 7 were there.  Today they are gone & hidden somewhere.  Mom was here at noon but has not been back.  No more food eaten.  Keep hoping they will show up.  Maybe tomorrow.

    I saw the llamas but they were no where near enough to get photos of them.  But good to see them.

   Supper at Pizza Hut.  Good.  My fave waiter was there & told me he got a promotion.  Great!!!!  He is the best!!

    Chance of rain this week.  Will benefit KN's corn.  Good timing.

    Hope I am healthy enough to work this week.  Always feel guilty when I am miserable  & stay home.

    The friend who is in charge of our thursday lunch group has quit the group.  Cannot eat with us again but can help organise us if needed..  I wrote 2 texts with suggestions but no one answered so I have deleted them.  Now I wonder if I have done something wrong.  And my guilt is growing.  Who knows.  I will miss eating with them.  I am sure the group is done.  I will take me out on each thursday alone.  Just me.

    Both cats are near me tonight.  They are not eating well at night.  Weather related?  I have tried some new foods but that has not helped.

Willie & his best friend had a combine they took to demolition races. And always won.  They went to the State Fair & won there!!!  Very cool. This is photos of it when Falun had a parade for its 100th anniversary,  Willie is driving.

This is a soccer team in Brazil.  The farthest guy to my right on the front row is my friend,  Great player.  Miss him.

                                                                   

                

The Plague, Day 164.....

Sort of a quiet day. I had planned on a friend joining me for lunch but it was not to be. No problem. I just missed the company and conversation.

Supper tonight with JR at Jalisco's. The salsa was extra good tonight. And so was my shrimp. Good conversation.

Before entering Jalisco's I saw a mask laying in the street. I have no idea how it got there but I picked it up and put it in the trash bin in front of my car. Might have been an accident. Might have been laziness. How many others walked by and ignored it? I touched nothing with my hand until I could sanitize it.

With my photos today of my former common life,  I want to give us all a moment to pause, think, and remember.

To think about life before the pandemic. And what we miss. And want again.

Time to grieve for our loss of a normal life, if we need to.

And then to celebrate the past.

I'll be honest, I miss gatherings. I love being around people whether I am just watching others or actually being part of them. An occasional day alone is OK and sometimes needed. But not more days at home than out. I long for just the normality of my past life.

The Plague, Day 161.....

It was an OK day. JR and I went to Jalisco's. JS was out of town so MA worked. Splurged and had ice cream for dessert. Then we went to a friend's house to get some bricks for me and our cousin ND2.

Three couples came in to Jalisco's with no masks. We have at least 1 case of Covid in town and maybe more. And no masks. SMH. And then they get sick and want our sympathy and money. Not from me.

The hot weather has returned. I saw 98F. Humidity was ok today but will get higher. 

Photos are the first 3 are from Utah. Then photos from today. The yellow flowers are Wax Goldenweed. This year I have no sunflowers. There are a very few plants in my drive that may bloom. Odd. I miss them. Pink ones are Ladys Thumb. And then of course is Brown Eyed Susan. 

The soccer photos is from a few years ago when 2 good friends played for Bethany College. What awesome days. Very cool for me. The team captain would walk over to greet me and sometimes give me a hug. The other friend would greet me after the match and sometimes give me a hug. ME?? Of all people!!
