10 july, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

Teddy Bear Picnic Day!

Today was quiet & terribly frustrating.  I lost my minutes of our last historical meeting.  I have searched every where.  I finally found them with the wrong name!!!!  I am a bundle of nerves now.  But got them written up & emailed to the board!!!  Whew!
Too hot today.  Limited my time outside so it did not make me feel ill.  The heat lovers have no idea.
Nico had an appointment for a nail trim & rabies shot.  Simple appointment.  But they gave him all his shots due in september.  Nails look good.  I told them it was either trim or polish!!  Nico, Mr. Metrosexual!  Restarted him on allergy meds.  Hope they help.  He even got a new collar.  I was sick of his old one.  Love the new one.  He is worn out tonight & resting.
I love his vet.  She is really nice & kind.  She let me talk about him & about me.  The staff were all really nice today.  There is one who is unfriendly.  Maybe she has quit.  What a difference in how I feel when I get to visit & get some attention.  And she had ideas of things I can do to see people.  And one was NOT the senior center.  I may be old but I am not that old acting or feeling.
LA got her internet fixed & sent me the nicest note.  What a nice lady!!  I am glad we have met.  No one ever says anything that nice to me.  I have a couple of artist friends that have been so nice to me.  But they are not near.  One is in Iowa & the other in Nigeria.
All in all a good day.  Started with tons of stress but ended great.  Why cannot I not have more nice days?
Photos are ones I have taken & edited.

16 october, 2022 Wandering & Capturing Moments

Very nice day.  Great weather & good friends.  Temps were 44F & 71F.  Perfecto!!!  I sat outside with Nico before lunch.  He & Cinder enjoyed each other.  I heard some crows singing.  And 2 small yellow butterflies were flitting around together.  So pretty.

JR & I ate at Jalisco's.  The manager was back from Mexico.  Good to see him again!  And they got overloaded with customers.  We left early as people were waiting for a booth.  That was OK.  I had things to do.

After lunch I went to the hospital for a drive through flu shot clinic.  Best way to get your flu shot.  Just drive in, fill out paperwork, get your shot, & drive home.

After a quick trip home I met my friend from NY at the White Peacock.  We ate outside at first but it was chilly.  So we moved inside.  Did a lot of catching up.  I enjoyed it.  She leaves for home in a couple of days.  I hope to take a train to NY & stay in a hotel there for a visit.  Great fun!!

Weather was nice to day but we are in a freeze warning for a couple of days.  I may be sleeping on the sofa with my heater on.  IF I am lucky, my propane company can come to fix my heater tomorrow.

Photos today are mostly from the White Peacock & some autumn ones.

Sheltering in Place, Mood Of Silence, Day 225......

In quarantine for 7.5 months. I have no hope of it ending within my lifetime. Just adjust. And not let myself reach out to strangle those too dumb to wear a mask, social distance, and wash their hands.

Home alone today. No motivation to do anything. My bouquet of spoons ran out early. Read about the Spoon Theory.

We had snow but dang little. Lindsborg had more than my farm. Early this morning it was coming down so prettily. Should have taken a photo. It did stay very cold. Saw 21F during the night. Now it is 26F. They say we might break records tonight. We are forecast in the teens. I have my water dripping. No real wind though.

I just video chatted with JS. I was curious about the roads. Said they are ok. I teased him yesterday that there would be 3 inches of ice.. I thought he knew I was joking!!

Tonight both of my birds are back. The female changed her bed. maybe she was here last night.  I like them.

Took Nico out after our nap. There were huge dog foot prints on the cement. Looked at one of my cameras. There was a large dark red brown dog in my yard. Probably from the welding shop north of me.  JS described it to me. Did not bother anything.

Photos today are all of art from an auction.. Except the tree with geese. It was in town years ago. And the one of me and a dear friend!
