08/2025 - Martes the 5th - JOURNEY

 

Ljusnan River in central Sweden.  Cousins live near the river in Hälsisngland.  They own the beach.  On the dock is my cousin.  Now an adult.

    Had a bad night.  I had little sleep although I felt ok today.

    I had a hair appt in Salina.  No clue how to get there.  Paved road to Salina was closed to replace a culvert.  Could not get on Interstate due to a missing bridge over the interstate.  There was a road near me I thought would go all the way to Hiway 4.  Wrong.  I finally found the Smolan Road.  Coming home I took interstate then go on the Falun Road.  For a while it was ok.  Then it was closed do to replacing another culvert.  I went out of my way & got back to the Falun Road.  But I did see that the road to Lindsborg is now open.  Will save me time going to work.  Yay!!

    MM two oldest sons got home today.  My great grandsons.  Got a video message from the oldest. Very special.  Have it saved. 

    MM had an awful family loss last night in ICT.  Scary with the kids there.  I feel really awful for the family.  Glad he does not live there anymore.  Not safe at all.

    Warmer today but quite cool overnight.  Warmer each day through friday almost up to 100F.  Then cooler & maybe rain next weekend.

    Missed trash day today so I need to feel better to get trash out to the bins.  Wish I had backup.  None for me.  I am sooo tired of summer.  I hate the heat, humidity, & bugs.

    Photos are many autumn photos.  They give me peace & hope.

Photos from Sweden.  First one is me at a crayfish party, next is me with a statue of a snaphaunce or highway man.  He was explained to me when I was there.  The third is me & a rune stone in a pasture.  Owner built a way to walk over the ditch to stand by it. And the last photo is me standing on the borders of Norway & Sweden.  Think we ate lunch across the street.  And our first experience with hamburgers in Sweden.  Not like here.  They all have thousand island dressing on them.  Very good.

October is Here!!!!

Today's Name Day: Ragna, Ragnar

    Super day!!!  I slept great.  It got nice & chilly!  Awesome.  The high today was mid 70s.  Perfect weather.  Only one day.  Sucks again tomorrow & beyond.  😔. But enjoyed it today.  Tonight I think it will be in the 40s but tomorrow is 80s & 90s by the weekend.  😱. Usch.

    Hair appointment today.  Cut, colored, styled.  And pampered.  Three of the other stylists who work there are trumpers so we always have to watch what we talk about anything.  And they all left for a while today so those of us left could speak freely.  A rare nice moment.  Does not happen often.  And my hair looks great!!!

    I had planned to fix pasta for supper but then talked myself out of it.  Maybe thursday.  I went to Arby's for a beef sandwich, apple turnover,  small Coke.  I am really not in the mood to drink sodas anymore.  With my ice machine I prefer icy cold water.  Healthier.

    I left the salon around 5pm.  Bad time to drive in Salina.  Super busy!!!  No bueno!!!  Glad to be home,

    Outside I saw a light colored cat with 2-3 kittens.  Interesting.  No Cinder yet. Will check again soon,

National Peach Day

Every year at this time a local church is in charge of selling Colorado peaches & occasionally pears.  Every monday late afternoon.

Today's Name Day: Raoul, Rolf

    I had a good day.  Slept pretty good.  Same old pain so I was sure rain was coming.  And it did.  More comes around thursday.  And then cooler temps.  I hope so.

    I had a hair appointment in Salina.  Nice to be pampered.  He has been getting my top too short.  See if it is better today.  Looks good.

    When my appointment was over it looked really dark outside,  I was pretty sure I would drive through rain. The road I usually take to home was getting ready for some road work so I want through Smolan instead.  And they are prepping that road the same way.  And the rain started before I was out of Salina.  It rained so hard I could barely see to drive.  It was scary.  I could see lightning hitting the ground near me.  Fun to see that.  There was a little piece of some kind of equipment ahead of me that I did not want to follow out of Smolan. & then try to pass.  I went back into town & found a farmer's market that is open every sunday from 10-2..  Now I know where to go.  This sunday they are serving a pulled pork meal that sounds good.  See how brave I get!  They have fresh veggies, eggs, pastries.  Sounds good.  I would take my meal home.  I took photos of it.

    I got home & we had no rain.  Of course.  What else is new?

    I got lots of cloud photos.  Minimal editing.  There are some wild flowers growing in my back yard I got photos of.  With some kind of bee eating.  Cool..

    Did not get too warm today.  I saw a little over 90 before the clouds.  Great.  There is hope.

    I got home & I had a Danish kringler delivered.  I ordered it,  Excellent.  Might have to order again.  Went good with my chicken noodle soup for supper.

    Photos are taken today.  One silly one of Cinder.  I have started calling her Lilla Buse (little brat).  I think she likes it,  Seems to mind me better when I call her that & is more cuddly.  Maybe she has never liked her name.  Who knows?  She was o;n ;the porch when I got home.

Hot weather 

This is not one of the options for today.  What they had were stupid.  Made my own.  Super heat is on my mind after yesterday.  Stayed hot most of the night but I did sleep good.  Today was better.

Today's Name Day: Reine, Reinhold

    Had a good day today.  I slept all night even though the house was a bit stuffy.  And I was sick of hearing the AC.  The heat gave me a nasty headache.  Much better weather today.  High in the low 90s.  A blessing.

    No nasty comments from my cousin.  That I have seen yet.  Who knows.  Will check soon.

    I was up early to get ready to go to town to get my hair cut & colored.  I looked so bad all weekend I was glad to be there!!!  And so great to see Henry.  He is special & fun to be around.

    Cinder was out for a while but came in before I left.  I like her in instead of out while I am gone.

    Henry & I could not chat about the awful things in our country.  All the stylists in there are MAGA people.  We bite our tongues & try not to listen to the chatter.

    I texted often with  AA today.  He feels better today.  I am glad.  Hope it lasts.  I shared lots of photos with him.  Today's photos, not stuff from a year or more ago like someone else I know.  And tons of photos of people I do not know.  Grrrrr.  And my email friend has written me a couple of times & I have answered.  Those 2 people sure help me feel better!!  I am thankful for them.

01 December, 2022 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    A bit of a better day.  Still have Willie on my mind.  My friend & cousin sent me a text with kind words about the anniversary of Willie's death.  No one else said a word.  I chose not to mention it on FB.  But I added a photo I created.  There were over 20 people who liked it.  Did they remember?  Maybe.  I was very surprised.  Very nice.  Really miss the good times we had.  And all those we have missed out on.

    Still very stressed.  There is no solution.  Sort of beating my head against a fence post.  And no one to talk to.  Hope tomorrow is better.  My anxiety pill did not help.

    Got my hair shampooed & styled today.  Always nice to be pampered.  HP is the best.  Wish we were friends but I would not fit in with his friends.  Good conversation & laughs!!  Plus I look good again!!

    On the way home I stopped at Arby's.  Got a beef sandwich, Coke, & apple turnover.  Perfect supper.

    What weather we have.  Not quite as cold but winds in the 40s or higher.  Threw my trash bins around.  Thankfully no trash in them.  I noticed some people in town have figured out a way to fasten the lids down.  Once the wind catches the lid it is all over.  Our old bins might have been smaller but they stayed shut.  Much warmer tomorrow.  In the 60s & windy.  Glad I am staying inside.  Then cooler.  No moisture until around thursday.

    Nico just had to go outside.  All he did was sniff at whatever animal was here to eat the cat food & water.  It is bitterly cold out & he is just running & chasing a scent.  I made him come in.  What a mess.  Last night we had a possum on the porch twice.  They are good to have around but Nico would just chase it.  He had to wait his turn.  Like a subway station here sometimes!

    Have a new app called Inspire.  It is an AI app.  It does some cool pictures.  I am sharing some I have done tonight.  You can find errors if you look.  And I learned it cannot spell!!  But I kept it.  I really like the snowy & foggy ones.  Fun to play.
