Day of the Dead

Today's Name Day is Tobias

    Today was a great day mostly.  But got sad news.  That later.

    Met MM, KW, & my youngest great grandson for lunch.  SM was so sweet!  Fun to hear him say Grandma & I love you!  Made my day!

    I got brave & ordered something new.  It was supposed to be so good.  Nope.  Just bland tasting.  I tried salt & queso.  Well, now I know.  Banana bread at home made it all better!!  And 3 plus hugs before heading home.

    Warmer today but nice.  It was in the 60s today.  Light winds.  Watched cattle by the pond.  Need more cattle in the pasture.  I would see them more often!

    I really did not expect my vet to call but she did ---- right before going home.  There is nothing --- NOTHING --- she can do for Nico & his diabetes.  There are no pills or liquids.  In other words, he will die.  Hard to believe.  She has offered to check with experts but swears there is nothing.  Then I will let him be happy & loved & calm.  I am so sad.  Just hard to believe there is nothing at all to do.  Diet will not do much.

    Nico has a bad temper.  Anything he dose not like or want he strikes out.  Done that since he was little.  He has bitten me bad enough I bled so bad that I almost went to the ER, but got it stopped by myself.  It is the way he is.  He strikes out then he will cuddle with me.  He only wants his way.  She knew this but sold me all sorts of stuff.  I have a huge sack of food he will not touch.  She knew that.  Will give it away.  He has lost a lot of weight so I do not worry about cat food.  He can stand to gain a little.  I am lost.  No Willie here to help me deal with it all.  Where is my support group?  Always just me here alone.  Still trying to improve my thinking but damn hard today.  And no one knows or cares.

National Black Cat Day

Today's Name Day is Sabina

    Busy Day!!!  Slept so-so but up really early.  In the car by 930am.  Off to Salina to pick up meds for Nico.  I was driving on fumes so fuel first.  Got to the vet & this lady & her dog would not be quiet.  On & on!!!  I was in a hurry as I had to work.  But got what I needed & hurried back home.

    Managed makeup in good time, dressed, & ate lunch.  Ate too fast.  But no problems.

    Worked at the SVAFC today.  Probably be my last time until January.  I just do not want to work with a ton of stuff for sale & hordes of shoppers in to buy & me there alone.  Too stressful.  The artist who opens/closes for me feels the same.  He is refusing also.  Agree with each other.  I would be glad to be second person there but not alone.

    It was slow today.  I was glad my friend from New York came in to visit.  She leaves tomorrow.  Dang.  Need to call her more often.  I really miss her.  We had a good visit.  She went to get herself a cup of coffee & got a chocolate muffin, cut in two.  For both of us!!  How nice of her!!

    JR came in to see this show on one of its last days.  He took lots of photos.

     I finally played with my new iPhone 15 & took photos.  I am totally impressed!!!  I zoomed in to the max & the photos were flawless!!

    JR & I went to Salina for supper.  Chose Hong Kong Buffet so I would not overeat.  Ha!  Excellent food.

    I hate that the road I always travel on is closed for 2 months.  Drove home tonight in the dark on country roads.  I do not like that.  Probably will not do it again until the road is open.

    I left Nico in the back of the house ----- our "family crate!!"  I feel so guilty.  But he seems ok.  Quieter.  And he minds better.  So far so good.  Got his leather mask so will do insulin later.  He is curled next to me.

    What a job to feed Cinder, then Nico & finally Kisse.  And take care of me.

    Pretty cool today with strong winds.  Stayed in the 40s.  Rain tomorrow.  Then snow in Sunday.  Hope they are right.

National Face Your Fears Day

Today's Name Day is Harriet, Harry

    What a day!!! Some good, some not so good!!  I got little sleep last night.  Freezing again.  A little heat helped.  Cinder kept me awake for a while.

    Up extremely early for a vet app't.  I was worried but it went well.  Aside from my lack of sleep.

    After the app't Karma came to visit me.  It was a learning experience that lasted all day.  If you have something that you must do, DO IT!!!  I chose not to so I had a learning experience.

    Instead of sleep I went to Lindsborg & Salina to run errands.  Renewed my driver's license.  And they moved!  Easy to find but required walking a ways no matter where you parked.  Then off to the court house to renew my car tag & get my handikap placards.  Too much walking & no where to sit & wait.  Dying was an option.  Won't happen again.  New game plan next time.

    Decided not to eat in town.  Too tired.  Home to eat.  It sort of upset my stomach but I survived.  Had a long nap.  Felt so good!!

    Nico is driving me nuts tonight.  His new regimen is not to his liking.  Sorry.  My bad.  He will adjust but will take a while.

    Far too tired to look for cool photos so what ever I saw I added.  Do better another day.

National Cheeseburger Day

Today's Name Day is Alvar

    Had another good day.  Slept fair & got up early.  Had to get ready for a lunch date.

    Met my friend LL at the White Peacock for lunch.  Had my fave drink -- peach green tea, chilled.  Love it.  I ate biscuits & gravy.  Then for supper I had leftovers from Pizza Hut.  Eating good today!

    Had a nice visit with LL.  With the heat we have not eaten out too often.  But local is ok.  With cooler weather now we can go further.

    After we ate my grandson MM came in.  When we decided to leave I stayed to visit with him.  Nice visit there too.  And a couple of hugs.  So nice!

    I took Nico to the vet for his nails.  Way too long.  If I could stay healthy that would help.  He is good in the car & in the office.  I tell him to sit & he sits quietly at my feet.  At home that never happens!!!

    Nice weather.  Our high was 91.  And this should be our last day in the 90s.  Cooler is coming & some rain this week.  I hope.

    With a level head I tackled the huge box of monthly stuff ---- dog food, cat food, kitty litter, etc.  Most is now inside.  A couple of things are still outside.  For now.

    Trash day tomorrow.  I wanted to set boxes by my trash bins but the wind might be too much. Will wait a while to see.

28 february, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    After sleeping good for several nights, last night was back to normal.  Fell asleep around 6am.  Feel ok though. 

    Nico is a problem.  I am worried.  His right hind leg continues to bother him.  He hobbles some.  Last night he thought he could not jump in bed.  He finally did.  He went to the vet today just to get his nails trimmed.  I asked him if he wanted to go potty at home.  He saw my purse & hid under our bed.  Odd.  He finally let me put his leash on.  And we were off.

    JR & I ate supper at China tonight.  Great food.  Big servings.  Need to go there more often.

    Been looking for a place to eat out with my boss & friend.  Yoder was fun with her.  Checked on the Steak House at the Hutchinson airport.  Menu sounds awesome but a bit expensive.  And bigger meals.  Then my doctor told me about a new place in Moundridge KS called the Hub.  Fire baked pizza.  Looks very good.  Have to see.  And maybe the Elgin Hotel in Marion KS.

    Very warm today.  I saw at least 66F.  Cooler tomorrow then rain/ice/snow on thursday.  Interesting.

    My mood is a bit dark.  Being ignored by family is just upsetting.  Made for a long, cold night last night.  I am sure I am over reacting.  Knowing that does not help.  No where to turn to talk about my feelings.

    In my FB memories I got a photo of posole made by JS.  I still remember how good it was!  I wanted him to do it again but he never did.  I really enjoyed the bowl I had.

    Photos are partly from supper tonight & some old memories.  And a photo of Jupiter & Venus.  Tomorrow they are at their closest.

                        

                                                                

    What a surprising day I had.  Will start at the end.  Too excited not too!!

    JR & I went for supper at Jalisco's.  They were really busy.  Good to see.  When we were done with our food here came the entire staff with JS carrying a beautiful birthday cake for me.  The candles were lit.  They all sang to me in Spanish.  And as usual JS had a spoon with whipped cream on it for my face!!!  A Mexican custom but usually it is your face in the cake!!!  I was so surprised.  JS is really sweet and so were all the guys!!  JR & I had each a piece of cake.  I cut pieces for each of the staff.  And for JR when I took him home.  I was so surprised.  And deeply touched!!

    The rest of my day was good also.  Started with lunch at Jalisco's with my grandson & a friend from Wichita.  Had a good visit.  Must do that more often.

    I tried to take a short nap when at home but Nico & Cinder just would not let that happen.

    Then Nico went to the vet to get his nails trimmed.  It took them forever to get to us.  No idea what the problem was.  Oh well.

    Then back to Jalisco's.  Great way to end the day!!
