National Do Something Nice Day
In a matter of seconds, we hold the power to change the course of a person's day by being nice. The person's day in question might even be our own. Some things that takes very little time at all and almost no effort include:
- Noticing someone's signal in traffic and allowing them into your lane.
- Picking up the neighbor's newspaper on your daily walk and placing it within easy reach.
- Opening a door for another person.
- Giving your place in line to the person with only three items.
- Tipping your service staff an extra dollar or two more than you usually would.
- Give a compliment.
- Encourage a student with an idea for a solution.
- Read to a child.
- Listen to someone who is lonely.
Today's Name Day: Bror
Had an ok day. I was sooo exhausted last night from just having fun. I almost crawled to bed. But could I sleep? Of course not. Awake until 5am. Cinder was in & out on my bed. Even Kisse curled up next to me once. Got up around 10am.
Had a very nice nap this afternoon with Cinder curled on my chest/arm. And she went to eat without me tempting her with ham slices. In some ways she seems better but no interest going outside. I hope that lasts. If she went out I would panic. I don't offer & she does not ask
If anyone is curious where my blog is looked at here is a photo. Sometimes there are more places, sometimes less.
I decided I could make some online Christmas greetings. I downloaded some Unsplash graphics & added a fancy "Merry Christmas" to them. I saved some cool greetings in awesome fonts. Here is an example.
Had sucky weather today. Got up to 95 or 96. At 96 it tied our past record high. I never went out until before supper. Dang hot. Ick. Much cooler tomorrow.
For supper I made a Swedish open face sandwich of bread, mayo, lingonberries, & some ham slices. Tasty. For dessert I had a Glazed Pumpkin Spice Brownie. Almost as good as a slice of pumpkin pie. And instant peach tea from Maud's. Good peach taste. Brownie & tea ordered from Amazon.
Busy times coming up. Flu shot & art show/talk. Must call to see about the next Covid shot. On WebMD you can sign up to see how strong Covid/flu symptons are in my area. They are light right now, Good. Have a cousin who is miserable with Covid. She has had it before but this time it has kicked her butt. Hope she improves soon.
Photos are autumn, winter, local things, babies.
