10/2025 - Domingo the 05th - MY JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Bror

Have a good friend in Sweden who kept the name bror for his last name --- Brorson.  Bror means brother.

    Today was a good day.  Slept good.  Worked this afternoon,  I work one more saturday then I am off until next january.  Going to have to go in just to sit & people watch.  Will sure miss being there.  Holiday open house with gifts to buy for the holiday.  I cannot do that.  Neither can MH.  We both are off for a couple of months.

    Yesterday I was busy but today was quiet.  Had a total of 6 visitors.  One friend did stay to chat for a while.  Nice.  But I had things I brought with me to work to occupy my time.

    Warm again & windy again.  Better than yesterday.  Mid afternoon a huge group of bicyclists went down Main Street.  Wish I had known & had my camera ready.  Missed them.

    I saw MM on a sidewalk near the Main & Lincoln corner.  He saw me & walked down to my car to visit.  Nice.

    Last night MM & CW sent me a photo of them together with the message "We love you".  I got tears.  They are now my iPhone wallpaper.  Thought MM might would have a tear also!!  The 3 of us do love each other.

    Supper tonight was pizza at Pizza Hut.  Odd my stomache has felt good for several days.  I am enjoying it.  Dessert was a small ice cream.  So habit forming!!!!

    Fotos are mostly autumn.  Plus some really old fotos of me as a young child. And one nice one of Willie & I.  😊

    On the way home I saw lightning to the north & south.  Sort of backed off right now.  Cooler tomorrow.

          

I am in the middle with 2 friends. Jennifer Ditch lived across the alley from me in the old hospital apartment house,  Verdell Purkey lived next door in the upstairs apartment.  She was my best friend until they moved.

Nice group shot.  Larry & Linda Strahan were twins.  She played with us sometimes.  Norman Fahrer had a brother in my class named Wally.  Their father was a professor at Bethany College.  Wally is a pastor in England now.  Lynn Hafphermel was a bright red head,  He was murdered when college age.  Too young.  Jennifer Ditch & her little brother Timmy lived across the alley from me.

Father's Day

Father's Day falls on the third Sunday in the US in June to honor the role fathers play in the family structure and society. This day recognizes not just fathers, but the father figures in our lives. These are the men we look up to who set solid examples for us and guide us throughout our lives.

Today's Name Day: Axel, Axelina

    Had a so-so day.  Did not get beaten up today, having increased pain today, but I am still invisible to many.  My hip flared up again & both my upper arms ache bad & both hands really hurt too.  And no sleep until 5am.  And no tears today.  That is encouraging.  I did cancel supper.  Just too much pain.

    We were in a storm warning last night.  The radar looked so encouaging.  Big area.  BUT.  As usual. It grew smaller & smaller as it moved my way.  We had a huge amount of lightning as a way to play with my emotions.  Only one light thunder crash.  By the time it was at my farm, there was not any rain at all for me.  We stayed dry.  It all went north.  Of course.  No rain now until late tuesday & wednesday.  Should ignore what they say.

    Cinder was out all afternoon even though it was well over 90F.  Supper time she was ready to come in.  Napping now.

    Took my winter blanket off my bed & replaced it with something thinner.  Folded the winter one & put it on a chair.  Cinder has claimed it as her own.  Kisse has her own blanket.  We all slept in a close=circle.  They stay close to me usually.  Unconditional love is the best.

    Watching the Tony Awards.  I have no chance of ever seeing a Broadway play but I have heard of them & I enjoy the evening gowns.  And it is not so important to me I have to stop & watch.  My blog & spanish lessons take precedence. 

    Photos today are ones I have taken & edited.  And made me so frustrated.  I know what I wanted on one but could not find a proper app.  Grrrr.

                        

Sheltering in Place, Mood Of Silence, Day 374....

 What an awesome day! I slept really good. Rare.

Today is Nico's 5th birthday. And I left him home too much!! But he got real hamburger twice and a bit of a cookie. I think all is forgiven.

This afternoon I was asked to work at the Old Mill Museum hoping that maybe I can recognize people in old photos. I loved it! I found pictures of my great great grand parents' parents. I have never seen them but JR said he had seen them. I might have to photograph more photos from my family. Wonder where they came from. I would have loved to have them and then share. I was never offered anything. Typical in my mom's family. Those who have will never share. I worked from 1-4.

Found two photos with last names I know. I sent them to friends with the same name. Cool. One answered right away. His grandma and my mom were friends. I was in school with his sister. Small world.

JR and I ate at Jalisco's. JS was our waiter. And full of orneriness. Lots of huge take out orders, but a lite on eat in orders. There were 2 girls in to eat. When they were done eating, they asked JS if they could just sit and talk. Without skipping a beat he just quietly shook his head no. He was joking. They laughed and so did l.

I forgot the most important news. I was asked if I wanted to come in to the Mill and do number of things. One day a week is perfect. I feel so good and even useful !

Thunderstorms tonight. Light rain in town. Drove home with rain so hard I could hardly see to drive. More moving in now. Lightning and Thunder. My fave weather. Photos are from my drive home. The old car is at my neighbors. I want it!
