04/2025 Onsdag the 23rd - Wandering & Capturing Moments

The back of our local library.  Awesome paint mural.

Today's Name Day:  Georg, Göran
Known  more than one George.  In fact a family in town had a last name of George.

I had a good day today.  No storms last night after the  hail quit. When I went to work today it was thundering again.  And light rain off & on this afternoon.
I got a lot of cloud photos while leaving for work.  Great photos.  Will share tomorrow..  Today most of my photos are flowers from the Old Mill & around town.  Beauty everywhere!
Work was good.  I finished the photos of just buildings,  Whew!!  Got a huge box of photos from the local newspaper.  I got them sorted by size.  I got a few scanned.  Most are photos of people but no names.  I found a few with names I started with them so I did not have to bother LL.
Supper was at Jalisco's.  The one cook calls me Tia (aunt) so I call him mi sobrino (my nephew).  The new guy from the kitchen even laughed at us!!  The mi sobrino tried to tell me he was only un poco loco (a little crazy). but I insisted he was mucho loco (very crazy)!!  Makes eating there fun when they have time to joke.
Storms west of us again now.  See if it comes here with hail again.  Photos now.  A couple of clouds from today & the rest flowers.

04/2025 Lördag the 19th - Wandering & Capturing Moments

Today's Name Day:  Ola, Olaus

Had a good day today.  Worked at The Old Mill.  It was just LL & I.  AP is off on saturdays.  The director AW only worked half a day.  We had time to talk some.
I got a lot done today.  Finished the photos I was on & started on a new batch.  Buildings in town again.  Ugh.  Won't take too long.
MM sent a text telling me to come to see him & get my Mimosa.  He was joking but I showed up.  😉 Got my Mimosa.  Sat with friends of MM.  Nice people.  One of the other workers was friendly.  Now we know each others names.  He only knew me as Grandma.  Still calls me that. Or Grandma Julie. He is Zack.   And gave me a hug.  I had a ham sandwich for supper.  Plus had a nice visit with the former owner, ML.  Plan to go there more often on Saturday after work,  Great to see MM & talk.  When I went home it started to rain.
Took photos of clouds.  Will share tomorrow.
TV sucks tonight.  Have Mexican fútbol on now.  Two teams I like.  Love the Mexican announcers,  Much better than American announcers.  Much better.  Especially when a goal is scored,
Glad Easter is almost over.  Tired of it

04/2025 Tisdag the 02nd - Wandering & Capturing Moments

This is Marstrand, an island in Sweden.  I stayed here for almost a week..  Love it but think it ruined a friendship of mine.  I am sorry for that.  I ate breakfast in front of the yellow building.  Lunch was in the white building to the left.  Great pizza!  Walking up the hill by this building took me to where I had a room.  The blue in front of this building is the ferry you took back & forth to the mainland & the island.  My heart is still there, friend or no friend.

Today's Name Day:  Gudmund, Ingemund

Well, I survived 3-4 tornado warnings last night.  My nerves were beyond stressed. The radar was scary & so was the weatherman on the tv.  At one point I thought the radar looked like I was safe.  Went to bed & just got comfy & the alarm on my iPhone went off.  Yikes that would wake the dead!!!  I got back up, put on my shoes, & turned the TV back on.  It all came so close to me here but always missed.  I had no wind & only 0.37" of rain.  I ended up sleeping ok once all was said & done.  I took no meds but slept in street clothes ---- in case.

That storm that was here is now in Kentucky.  I have a cousin living there.  I looked up his radar & it looks scary.  Hope he keeps texting me & stays safe.  So far ok.

Something loud & low is flying over my house.  Sounds like a helicopter.  I am sure military.  Bomb range has been busier than usual the last week or so.  Whatever it is has been over me now 3 times.  Like living in a war zone.

Today was a work day.  So glad to be back.  I finished one envelope of photos of  business buildings.  Very boring.  Starting a new envelope of high school kids hanging Christmas lights in 2001.  Then photos of that year's Christmas parade.  Many, many things in it.  Not sure it is that large now.  I even shared one photo on Nostalgia.  Just a cute one.

Supper was Mexican.  I was starving so I had carne asada.  One of my faves.  Then ice cream with no chocolate.  Blood sugar is out of control.

When I got home the cattle were by my driveway.  And all the sweet little calves.  They were curious about me & running & chasing each other!  No photos.  They were moving too fast!  Try another day.

This morning I saw 2 quail in my yard.  Haven't seen them in my yard for years.  Very cool!!  Hope they stay close.  I can always hear them in the summers.  Actually what I hear are the male quail who site on the edge of where the families nest.  Just in case a male quail dies he is there to take his place.

Plus I now see my Antlions are back.  They are unseen during the cold weather.  Last year I could count sometimes almost 40 ant traps.  Google antlions.  Interesting little bug.

I was sooo tired I came home & took a short nap.  I think all my stress during the storms took its toll on me.  The cats stayed with me.

Checked my blood sugar when I woke up.  And it was too low.  Guess I could have had the chocolate.  I ate something that I hope helped.  Will check later.

No work tomorrow.  Lunch with friends & then doc in Hutch for medical supplies.  I see her at the end of the month.  I desperately need to see her.  Blood sugar is awful.

Weather today was nice.  Warm & calm.  A blessing.

Photos today are of art that was in a show or is mine.

A painting of the Old Mill.
Scultures by Anton Pearson.  They are mine.
Art in a show but no idea who or what it is.
Art in an art show.  No other info.
This is Ling Auditorium on the Bethany College campus years ago.  Huge crowds could enjoy concerts in it.  It burned down one sunday.  It was all wood.  Little chance to save it.  This is painted by my friend John Bergers & is my painting.
This was in an art show.  No other info.
Corner of an art show.  Love the table.
Paintings by Don Weddle.  Awesome art.  He also played a tomte at Christmas.  He was the best!!!

04/2025 Tisdag the 01st - Wandering & Capturing Moments

Flowers at the Old Mill last year.

Today's Name Day:  Harald, Hervor
Harald is a special name.  Willie's brother & KN's father was Harold.  They did not get along.  Sad.  Not sure of all the reasons why.  Wish families were not dysfunctional ---- including my own.  Mind got worse with time.

Had an ok day.  Windy again.  Wears one down.  Winds in the 40s.  Temp was a bit warmer.  In a severe weather warning for tonight.  Making me super stressed!!! 😱
Took a nap in case I get little sleep tonight.  Hoping it is over early enough I can take my anxiety pill for sleep.  Both cats napped in my bed  with me also.  Nice they do that.
Not been outside since morning.  The trash guys did not pick up my trash bin that was already laying flat.  But the other has blown over now too.  Lovely,  No need to pick then up before the stormy weather.  Would probably knock them over again then.
No communication.  A couple of texts from MM & one email.  Ignored by all others.  Like normal.  I am too used to being ignored & alone.  It is so hurtful to send a text or two to someone & they either don't bother to read it or don't answer.  Makes me feel even more alone.  But that is my problem.  I have quit sharing on FB as not many like what I share.
Cattle are roaming around.  Have not seen the llamas yet.  If they were close I would go pick up my mail with my camera.
Photos were a mix.  Could not find the ones I wanted.  Odd.
Statue at the art gallery.  Water sprays out of it also.
Cross by Inga Bow that I own.  It is ceramic.  Love her work.
A very cool car parked next to us getting ice cream.  Could not get a cool photo of it.  From last year.
Tree in my driveway I played with,
Fence post near my driveway.
Hay bales in winter.
Leaves in my yard.
Flowers at the Old Mill.
Tree in town years ago.
Sunflower type flower a few years ago.
