I have known so many Lindas.  Best friend in junior high.  Cousin.  Class mates.

    

    Had a better than great day!!  I decided to skip my Swedish Friendship Group.  Stomach was upset yesterday so I chose just to sleep.

    Taking my meds just make me feel sick.  Just the thought of taking them makes me queasy.  Too many.  Feeling sick now.

    Lunch was with LL as usual on friday.  I was lucky to get a table for us.  Not "our" table but better than no table.  Had good conversation.  I always look forward to friday lunch.

    Work at the SVAFC.  First time in 2 weeks.  Not sure I have ever had so many visitors.  A fun day!!

    First visitors was a couple from Colorado with the goldendoodle.  Their dog was not at all fond of heat & humidity.  They came in & he laid on our carpet & we could here him sigh "air conditioning"!!!  He fell asleep.  I told them he was saying to them to go around town on their own, let him sleep, & come back when they were ready to leave.  His name was Fenway Park, Esq.  They sat & chatted with me for a while.  So much fun!!

    Next 2 men came in from Scottsdale Arizona.  They were friendly & pleasant.  Then much later 2 other men came in from Scottsdale Arizona!!!  They did not know the first 2 men who were in.

    JH spent a lot of time the gallery.  I always enjoy his company.  We feel like we have known each other for years.  We have not but I worked for his step mom & he said they always talked about me.  And he still likes me!!!  😋.  A miracle!!

    I got very little time alone.  I had no time time to get sleepy.  Each work day should be the same.

    Super hot & humid day.  I saw 100F my car.  We were in a wind warning.  There were gusts from 40 to 50mph.   But it kept the mosquitos off of me getting the house.

    Went to the car wash after work.  It was way overdue!!!

    Two more work days then a day off!!!  See what next week brings.

    When I got home Cinder immediately sat in the window looking out in the yard.  Kisse immediately curled up next to me & fell asleep.  That was odd.  Usually she needs to be petted.  Not today.  Just snuggles.  Sweet.

    Special on the TV of Grammy winning songs,  who wrote them & the story behind them.  Not bad.  Better than reruns.

    Today is the "real" Midsommarsdag in Sweden.  Ours is never on the right day.  So my blog photos are all Midsommarsdag.  Today is actually Midsommarsafton  ---  night before Midsommarsdag.  But it all starts today.  Be fun to have been there once for it.   Should have went there once & then just stayed & never come back here.  How different life would be then.

My Swedish family at the summer home in Boana Småland Sweden.  I got to stay there my first trip to Sweden.  There are 3 homes here.

05/2025 Fredag the 30th - Wandering & Capturing Moments

 

Large fire in Canada that is affecting Kansas.  The smoke has made it here.  The sky in the west today was quite hazy.  It will bother my breathing for sure.  Photo is an actual photo of the smoke.

Today's Name Day:  Vera, Veronika

    What a busy day!!!  I took an anxiety pill to help me sleep last night.  Worked great!  I had to get up extra early  ----  around 8am.  Went to my Swedish Friendship Group.  I was president for 11 years of it.  Once I stepped down, I quit going.  Too many changes.  Still are but I am better at ignoring them.  One change they made I completely ignore & do not participate.

    I was soo surprised how many members greeted me.  I was really surprised.  One lady who treated me like we were best friends but I was clueless who she is.   THEN I figured it out.  A good friend's sister that I really do not know.  Told her we need to eat out some time!  She agreed.

    Today the program was the new college president.  She seems very good.  Hope she is.

    LL & I had lunch at the White Peacock.  I had biscuits & gravy.  Love them!!

    Then MH unlocked the door for me at the SVAFC.  Good to have a new show.  All art is done by local people.  Great show.  I got all my photos taken of it all.  Had a fair amount of visitors.  The boss was there a long time too.  I had no time to get tired.'

    After work I stopped at Pizza Hut to get a sallad to take home for supper.  Perfect meal.  I love it.

    Too hot today. Over 80.  And I got everything done I needed to before leaving this morning  -----  except turning the AC on.  Big error.  House was 80 inside.  Poor cats!!!  Down to 76 now.  We all are happy.

    Last night I got to looking at an album of old, old family photos.  If I could go back.  How I miss those lovely people.

    Work again tomorrow.  Gives LL & I time to chat girl talk.  AP always has saturday off.  Or business talk!  I look forward to it.

002/2025 Onsdag the 26h - Wandering & Capturing Moments

 

Today's Name Day:  Torgny, Torkel

    My day did not start good.  I woke in the middle of the night & my body was on fire.  I was sweating profusely.  I got up to check my temperture.  It was fine. I felt awful then I realised my blood sugar was super low.  I took some glucose tablets.  Then I felt better.  I swore I ate enough but maybe not.  Who knows.  Once I calmed down & laid back down I was ok.  Got up & felt good.

    My two oldest great grandsons got ill last night.  Their dad MM & I were both sick on sunday & monday.  When we ate out the other noon I wonder if someone in there was ill & passed it on.  The kids were great all day.  Super weather. They ate out & played in the park.  Got home & they both started puking.  All over the house!!  Poor Dad!  He finally wrote a help me letter wondering if he was doing something wrong,  He was not.  I wrote him overnight & both had just puked around then but it was not constant.  This morning they had finished breakfast & drinking some healthful stuff ---- pedialyte.  Spelling???  One was asleep the other was still drinking.  Poor guys!

    I made it to work.  I finished the book I was working on.  Now starting on photos from the Chamber of Commerce.  LL sorts them by subject.  Several of them had photos by Gröndal.  He was famous in our town & area..  Out standing photographer.  I shared 4 on Lindsborg Nostalgia.  There was a photo of my church taken in 1900.  Awesome.  The yard was covered in trees.  The church was still the dark stones.  Today it is white.  A shame all the trees were cut down at some time.  Another one was of an early harvesting machines.  Photo taken in 1916.  With an interesting story on the back of it how the Swedes got here & what hard work it was to take a virgin prairie & make it farm ground.  And at home I realised our father was born in 1916.  Does that make him seem lots older than he is!!  Great photos today!!  Love it.

    I had a coffee date tomorrow that got cancelled.  Sort of disappointed but it was rescheduled.  Great!!

    Supper for JR & I was Mexican.  I had 2 burritos & bring one home for tomorrow.  They were not busy when we got there but soon scads of people kept coming in.  So we left.

    No groceries tonight.  I ordered what I wanted & needed on Amazon.  Will live a day without soda.  Only my problem.  I have teas to drink.  I need to start ordering locally or in Salina & picking my ordered.  Then I am not a burden to anyone.

    It stayed far too warm last night.  Way too warm.  Today was a bit cooler at 61F.  Had north winds so the house was ok.  But I was not here.  Cats were napping.  Both were starving when I had supper.

    Day off tomorrow.  SVAFC on friday & a new show.  Photos from local people that they have taken & chosen to display them.  Anxious to see them.

    Had a pretty good day.  I hope they keep happening!!!  Slept pretty good.  Relaxed. 

    Lunch was good.  Just grateful to have better food than I did have.  Cinder is getting all my old ham.  Will never buy it again.

    Once I was done eating, Cinder had been outside but then came in for her nap.  I shampooed my hair.  Loooong overdo.  Now I look human again!!

    Picked up JR at 5pm for supper.  I had 3 different places I wanted to eat at.  Picked Mexican as usual!!!  I tried to get Cinder to go back out but she just stared at me.  Silly cat.  She will be sorry!!

    After supper we went to get groceries.  Somehow I forgot things like butter.  Ruined my plans for cinnamon toast yesterday.  So all is well now.  For both of us,  Then ice cream bars from Dollar General.

    Got home & unlocked the front door & this streak of something blurred dashed out the door.  I assume it was Cinder!!!  Time to round her up again soon.

    Nice weather today.  Rain is still in the forecast for the coming week.  Time will tell.  And cooler temps.  

    Long texting with KW.  She is so sweet.
