21 December, 2022 Wandering & Capturing Moments

I actually slept good last night with no pain.  And Nico was calmer too.  What a good night.

What a list of weather today.  There was snow on my car plus frozen drizzle on my car window.  When I went to work it misted off & on.  There was lots of hoar frost but not in my yard.  I got no photos.  It stayed with heavy clouds all day.  But our temp reached 33F.  Maybe snow in a couple of hours.  No wind yet but it will get here.

I got fuel before the weather got any worse.  Best to be prepared.  And the price was nice.  I chatted with a lady next to me.  We wished each other Merry Christmas.  No clue who she was but really nice.  Wish I had friend like her.

Work was the most fun.  One of my coworkers is going to create a book on the Old Mill.  So I spent the day scanning photos for him.  Awesome photos.  And some very old.  There were photos of the 1903 flood with water up to the Old Mill.  And men in a boat in the front of the mill.  Photos of the dam that was by the Mill.  Does not exist today.

One old photo was of 2 men working on filling small bags of wheat or flour.  On the wall was a calendar with a nude lady.  For shame!!!  Haha!  I finally got a macro shot of it so I could read where it was from.  From the Hudson Motor Exchange in January 1948 or 1949.  It was fun to try to see it.  Took several macro shots & several camera apps!!

JR & I ate supper at Jalisco's.  JS had my Christmas gift.  The only one I get.  It had chocolate in it, billfold, & a purse.  They are both lovely.  Tomorrow I switch purses!!  My present billfold is too small.  He has really good taste.  I am missing a gift for both my brother & JS.  I keep hoping they show up.  They will have Christmas next week.

At Jalisco's we all wished each other Feliz Navidad!  I do not have Happy New Year down yet!  The cook came out to see me.  If he had not I was headed to the kitchen before I left.  They & the fuel lady made day.

Cinder disappeared last night.  Not here all day.  When I came home from work to take Nico out I saw the black cat on the porch.  I then knew Cinder was near.  I fed him since he had to walk back home.  Came home from supper & she was here.  Wish she would come in.  Hope she will later.

This mid-afternoon was the Winter Solstice.  I do not want longer days or shorter nights.  I want my winter with snow that we never get anymore.  I always dread summer with the hot, sticky weather that makes me feel ill.

Christmas photos again tonight.  I am in the last photo.  The Julbock is in Gälve Sweden.

Wandering, 13 november 2021

What a day!!!  Yesterday during supper I got a text asking me to work the next afternoon. Of course I said yes!  I spent all afternoon at the Smoky Valley Arts & Folklife Center.  Today was Holiday Open House.  Hundreds of people in town!  I was there from 1pm - 530pm.  Lots of people came in.  Beside the show were several artists displaying their art.  Great fun!  Nice that I am free enough to be able to be there on short notice.  I took lots of photos.  Will share some tomorrow.

There were NO parking spots in town so when I went to work today simply parked behind Jalisco's and walked through.  I had gotten permission a long time ago, but never abuse it.  Got a coke to go too.  I worked next door to them.  How lucky!

I ordered groceries to pickup today at 11am.  Food again!!  Nico is on 2 meds for his sore foot.  I have found that wrapping his pill in a small wad of cookie dough and it goes down without any arguing or wasting a pill.  Has had 2 doses now.  Hope it works.  One is an antibiotic and one is for swelling.

Went to bed early last night.  Too much stress and pain.  Surprising, I slept well.  So did the fur kids.

It got extra cold last night.  It was 21F on my porch.  Luckily there was no wind.  The house never got warm.  The heater ran all night and the living room was only at 67F.  Finally tonight it is 73F.  My feet are thawing.

My total body pain has resolved itself.  Maybe change of weather.  I did read people who sleep in their side throw their back out and have back/leg/hip pain.  I slept with a pillow the other night between my legs.  What a miracle.  Have one ordered.  Really helped.

Enjoying relaxing tonight.  Both kids are sleeping.  Life is good.

Photos tonight are of the La Prairie.  I live on the prairie with a few near hills.  All photos taken by me.

Sheltering in Place, Mood Of Silence, Day 224......

Good but cold day!! A bit warmer than last night but stayed cold all day. No snow here yet. Wichita and KC have some snow. It misted here this noon.

JR and I had lunch at Jalisco. They were so quiet. Maybe the cold kept people home. We do have a new restaurant but it was not open when we got to town.

I took different meds at bedtime last  night. I took my anxiety pill, Tylenol, and pain cream. I actually  had a pain free night.  What a surprise. I can only take one anxiety pill a day. So I am trying a half pill twice a day. A little pain but better than usual. I can live with it. At least I walked more normal. I was ready to get my dad's walker to use.

I have 2 sparrows who sit each night under my carport roof. Only one is there tonight. Did the female leave? I hope she is ok. Too cold for them here. I will miss them when they are gone. No deer have been here in two days. Or I have not seen them. Do see a skunk often. Do not want it here. I yelled at it last ngiht.  She left then.

Photos are ones I took today.
