07/2025 - Jueves the 03rd - JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Aurora

I had an ancestor with that first name.  She had mental problems & was found dead in a pond.  Never knew her.  Long timre ago.  When Willie was a semi truck driver we went through Nebraska town with a similar name often.  Looks like a nice town.  I should take a drive there some time.

    

    Had a great day.  Finally.  Plus I slept well all night.  Finally!!  

    Today was thursday.  And each thursday I meet with 3 friends for lunch.  Today we chose the Öl Stuga.  And, oh lordy, it was packed.  We ended up in the back room at the furthest east table!!  MM was supposed to work but he was not well.  Should have been admitted to the hospital.  Got better as the day passed.  Plus 2 of my 3 favorite waiters were working.  They are always nice.  Plus I got served my fave cocktail!!

    There was a man sitting next to me at bar.  I did not know him.  And he really never said much until he went to leave.  He was in town to meet several other men for a prayer meeting.  He thought at noon, but it was really for 10am.  He missed it so he stopped at the Stuga for a soft drink.  And his comment to me was something about missing the meeting but he got to meet me.  A nice compliment.  One of a few things that made my day.  He can come back and sit with me anytime!!

    I sent MM a text every where I went in case he needed me.

    After lunch I was off to the Hutchinson Clinic to pick up some meds.  Easy trip.  Got a good parking place.  But, for the first I got lost inside the clinic.  But when I was leaving & got to my elevator it was not working.  Had to take the steps.  Sheesh.

    Then before home I was thirsty & wanting a snack.  Went to Sonic.  I was able to drive in to a parking spot.  When I left to go home the line to get in was almost all the way to Wichita!!   😊. Well, not quite but I got there at the right time.

    The highway had more traffic than usual too.  Holiday traffic.  Not me.  I am home alone tomorrow.  No July 4th celebration for me.  We always used to go to the fireworks but they quit that several years ago.  Not driving to another place after dark.  I just do not care.  Holidays are for groups of families or groups of friends.  I have no group of anyone anymore,

    All the ponds going to Hutch are gorgeous.  And very full.  We have not had that kind of rain near me.

    Storms tomorrow.  Maybe.  Or tonight.  My knee is telling me.  For the last few days my left knee hurts like hell but only when I sit.  Walking is ok.  Odd.

    I should not be watching the news.  Makes my blood pressure climb.  Why oh why did I not move away years ago while I could.  Far away.  At least Colorado or Vegas or another country.  What a different life I would have in many, many ways.

04/2025 Torsdag the 03rd - Wandering & Capturing Moments

 

Today's Name Day:  Ferdinand, Nanna

    I had a good day but did change my plans.  Slept good.  Weather was so-so  (in Spanish is mas o menos with a hand signal)

    Lunch was with my thursday lunch group at the Öl Stuga.  And what a great surprise I got there.  MM was bartending today.  SM & his mom were there!!!  I took photos & they have not synched yet.  Grr.  I got lots of hugs for sure during lunch!!  Plus good conversation with my friends.  When my meal was over MM always walks me to my car even if I am across the street.  Nice to be cared for.

    I had planned to go to Hutch to get some medication.  But watching the radar there was a large area of rain that was on the way.  I decided not to drive in rain & wait until monday.  So I went home to take a nap.  But it did not rain.  😔. Oh well.  No biggie.

    When I got home my llamas, Larry & Coco, were by my fence,  I drove close to get nice photos.  I hoped they were nice!  And I see they are still here from my living room window.  They must have napped also,

    I did not eat enough for lunch so my blood sugar was a bit low.  I happened to look at a graph of all my blood sugars & something jumped out at me.  One of my sugars I had written it as OVER 1000!!!  Lordy.  I went back & changed that to what it actually was.  I was worried why my A1C. was so high.  Now everything is as it should be.  What was I thinking???

    I am always surprised when I have a new pain.  Happened when dressing today.  Odd.  Was gone as quick as it started.

    Got a text from someone who wants me to work a day in May.  I always enjoy those texts!!

    Tomorrow is an extra long day.  Think I will skip lunch.  Then I work & eat supper.  Then we are going to a concert.  There will be no blog tomorrow.  Will be too late & I will be too tired.  Hate to miss the concert.  Love it.

003/2025 Söndag the 02nd - Wandering & Capturing Moments

 

Today's Name Day:  Erna, Ernst

    Had a nice day.  Slept good with Cinder joining in the very early morning & staying there until I got up.  She has finally learned if I get up to the bathroom I am coming right back,  Took her long enough!!

    Weather is ok.  Cool overnight & in the 50s today.  No heat or AC came on at all.  Nice.  Money saving day!

    Had time for a nice nap.  But no Cinder or Kisse.  Dang.  Cinder almost laid down on me but then went to eat & never came back.  Cinder has a place she lays near the tv & manages to step on the power strip & turns the tv off.  Just got through  fixing it.   

    JR & I met NS & CG for pizza.  They were not busy & too many new help.  Lost the manager a couple of weeks ago.  Not going well after firing a past manager.  I finally saw the salad menu.  I could make an ok salad for someone as picky as me.  I do not like lettuce but prefer spinach.  I can adapt.  I had my usual of garlic bread.  For some reason it is easy on my stomach.  

    Supper was fun.  CG knows lots of people where I live & in my family.  And he was in school with JR.  We talked about everyone!!!  And ourselves.  He knows people I used to know but lost track of.  Fun to learn what they are doing. It was fun to laugh & enjoy company!!

    Nephew had a new calf today.  I got a photo.  How sweet!!  And great weather for it..

    I picked photos of catsfor today.  Some are AI but still sweet.  In a week of stressful news something sweet it needed.

    What an awesome day!!  Great weather.  Our low was 34 with a high of 68.  Perfect!!!  Wish it would stay a loooong time.  Won't but want it to.  Sooooo looking forward on monday & tuesday to 60mph winds.  What a joy.  😱

    I slept pretty good.  But had a phone call from JS in the morning.  Good to hear from him.

    Before work I drove through the cemetery checking on Willie's flowers.  So far they are ok. Surprised.  Checked on MM's father & my friend John.  John needs flowers.

    Work at the SVAFC today.  And  I had tons of visitors!!!  What a fun day!!!  My fave artist was even in once.  He had an interesting old old newspaper article of him when he lived somewhere else.  One couple was in & I knew his mother.  How fun.  And another friend was in.  We used to be close friends but he has other friends now.  I never can keep friends.  Wish I knew why & what is wrong with me..  He said he hoped my day had been good as he prayed for me today.  Cool.  When he left I got a big hug, a kiss & a love you.  Made my day.  Maybe my week.

    I did not feel like cooking tonight so I went to the White Peacock for a cinnamon roll and strawberry green tea.  Nice meal.  I thought MM was bartending across the street but he was actually bartending at a wedding out in the country at a wedding place.  That would be fun.

    I just called JS.  Wanted to make sure he was ok.  I worry about him.  Great conversation.

    Photos tonight are from an art show from a couple of years ago.  Just some different photos to look at.  Tomorrow will do Halloween photos.  Been searching for what I want.
