06/2025 - Lunes the 23rd - JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Adolf, Alice

    Had a quiet, restful day.  Much cooler.  Thunder & rain around noon & now again around supper.  Severe storm warning now.  Really loud thunder!!  No heavy rain.  Maybe some on the way.

    Yesterday I was too tired to blog.  Had a great day at the SVAFC & supper of sallad.  Visistors were few until late afternoon.  I had downloaded a book on Fika.  I liked it. Read it all.  Even had some Swedish recipes in it.  Small book that I enjoyed.

    No major communication with anyone today.  Busy people.

    I totally forgot tomorrow is trash day.  I have brought no trash outside.  And with high winds both trash bins are on their sides.  And I am not going out in a severe storm warning to set them up & take trash out.  Not safe.  I can do it maybe tomorrow.  I have one appointment so should have time.

05/2025 Söndag the 18th - Wandering & Capturing Moments

 

Today's Name Day:  Erik

Good friend in Carolina is Erik.  I took many classes from him at the college, in McPherson, in Great Bend.  Those were such fun days.  Miss him & those.  Other Eriks live in town.

    Had a pretty good day.  Had a low sugar this afternoon that recovered quickly.  I think always plan on a mid afternoon snack to be safe.

    Kids & I took a nap.  Nice to be loved.  Cancelled going out this evening.  Safer to stay home.  I am sure not all understand.  I know the hostess understands.  Do not expect others to get it.  They do not walk in my shoes & know my stress.

    Got a text from CF telling me he is moving out of state again.  Hopefully get to see him early in the week.  That will be our goodbye.  I do not expect him to be back anytime soon, if ever.  The truck/camper he sold is still sitting here.  I told him they must come this week or else I will have them towed away.  Not my relatives & want it off my property.  Period.  

    In a severe forecast.  Had some wind, rain loud thunder, etc.  Western Kansas has had several tornado warnings with one tornado hitting a town out there.  Photos are sad.  Lots of damage.  See why the highway is closed.  Now interstate is closed due to debris on the highway.  Salina had large hail as did western Kansas.  Lucky here.  Now a tornado warning west of us a ways.  See if it does anything.  I had 0.63" of rain.  What a shock.  More than I thought!!  Think it is all over for now.  Still active in the west.

    I splurged for supper.  Had chicken noodle soup.  Tasted pretty good.  With a coffee cake for dessert.

    I can see cattle walking from my windows.  Little calves are playing.  Cute!!  Should go out & sit for a but but too windy, 30 mph +.

Today's Name Day:  Allan, Glenn

Glenn is a special name of a long time friend to Willie & I.  Know several Allans.

    Had a good day but too hot.  Luckily no wind.  Weather right now is severe warnings and thunder has started.  Not wide spread but here.  There are 2-3 other areas not near here.

    Had a hair appointment today.  Love being pampered.  Had a cut, color, & style.  Most other stylists are maga supporters.  So my stylists & I cannot talk.  No need to start a fight.  And we listen to their conversations that are less than intelligent.  Sad.  But they are all Catholic so no bad comments about the Pope.

    I took a nap when I got home.  Tired.  Woke up with major shaking & heavy sweating.  Had very low blood sugar.  Quickly took a couple of glucose pills & fixed supper.  Feel better.  Not been that low in a long time. Scary.  Lucky I woke up.

    Yikes!!! It is hailing here.  From dime size to quarter size.  Very loud!!! Storm warning until after 10pm.  Now strong winds.  Photo of MM's hand & hail. Same as mine here.

    Done for now.  More tomorrow from the Old Mill.  Want lots of flower photos from there unless the hail did then in.
