03/2025 Söndag the 30th - Wandering & Capturing Moments.

Today's Name Day: Holger, Holmfrid

A good day.  Slept good & feel good.  Got in the 40s  last night & maybe colder tonight.  Today was in the 50s.  Our big rain overnight was poor.  Radar looked great.  I got a wonderful 0.05".  Sucks.  Not helping our drought.  Severe storms forecast for tuesday night.
I had a nice nap with Cinder on top of me.  Kisse was hiding somewhere.
I picked up JR for supper at Pizza Hut.  I had sallad & he had a pizza.  They were sorely under staffed.  I felt sorry for them.  The girl in charged was cooking, serving, etc.  No one was cleaning up.  Glad they were not busy.  The guy working was very new.  He needed help ringing our bill up.  I saw no one doing delivery.  I hope tomorrow is better.
Skipped ice cream tonight.  Messes with my blood sugar.  Next sunday will have some.
Today I took photos in my driveway but iPhone is not syncing with my laptop tonight.  I rebooted both.  That usually works but not tonight.  Have photos for tomorrow then.  Irritating.  Maybe should have rebooted my iPhone while eating.  Try that next time.
No wind today.  What a joy!!  If tomorrow stays calm I will try to move boxes out by the trash bins.  Be nice to get rid of some.  I can fill the second bin with smaller boxes if there is wind.  Have a trash bag or two to take out but the first bin has room..
Only communication was with MM.  He was cooking over an outdoor fire.  Lucky him!!  He called too. Having lunch tomorrow.
    Photos are a mix.

14 october, 2022 Wandering & Capturing Moments

Nice day.  Slept well.  Nico must sense the weather is going to get cold.  When I rested this afternoon he stayed under the covers the entire time.

We sat out for a while before I left for supper.  He & Cinder had time to say Hello & interact.  They are cute together.  While out, I saw our 2 deer headed to the pond.  They are so sweet looking.  Nice to give Cinder some attention also.

Supper with JR at Jalisco's.  They were quiet when we got there then it got busier.  I guess this morning they were really busy.  Got to talk to all the kitchen help.  When we got there was one of my favorite artists.  I got to chat a bit with him.  On our way out was another favorite artist.  We got to visit also.  Her son had been here from another state but I missed seeing him.  But we are on FB & chat.

I called my propane supplier to see if they can fix my heater so it gets propane to it.  They did it last november.  Getting cold & might need a little heat.  They even have said it might get down to 29F or so.  That might be a sofa night if I have no heat.  We were in the 80s today.  Pleasant outside with a nice breeze.  My oak tree is really losing leaves!!!  And the acorns are dropping fast!  One hit my carport roof & it sounded like someone shot at us!!!

I got photos of the bulls today.  Content & grazing.

Photos are cattle, swedish rolls, autumn stuff.

29 july, 2022 Wandering

I had a quiet day.  Nothing special here at home.  Slept well until early morning when I developed severe right hip pain.  Why??  It got better but when I got to Jalisco's it hurt again.  Then went away.  😲

Nico was actually good today.  I am grateful after yesterday.  Grrrr.

I watched a huge area of thunderstorms headed our way all night.  What a fool I am!  Never got close & nary a drop of rain.  It did rain where it was desperately needed though.  When they said this rainy period was coming they had us in the 3-5" area of rain by the weekend's end.  Now we are in the half inch area, if we are lucky.  I knew it was too good to be true.  I would be happy if it stayed cool with a nice breeze to blow all the bugs away.  Far away.

JR, PM, & I met for supper at Jalisco's.  They were busy early.  Probably because there is a play in the park & people were eating before going to find a seat.

In the middle of our time in there I saw MA & JS gather to talk.  And exchange orders.  A gentleman came in for a takeout order & paid for several tables of people eating.  What a wonderful thing to do!  Very cool!!  Made my day!!!  I would love to do that.  What a great feeling it would be.

Before leaving I saw 3 ladies eating together.  One I see on FB daily but rarely in person.  The second one I know.  The third one I took spanish from.  All nice.  What lucky ladies.  They were talking & laughing enjoying each other.  Be so great to have some lady friends to see weekly doing things.  There are many little groups of ladies in town but I am not nor have I ever been part of any of them.  But not my place in life.  I am turning more & more into a hermit as time goes on.

It is interesting to see who actually reads my blog.  There are a couple of people who always like my photos.  But if I had written I had my leg cut off (joke) they would not know to make a comment.  Interesting.  But people who do not live here maybe only look at my photos too.  And I write my blog for me.  It does me good.  And helps me to think only in the positive --- most of the time.

Nico thinks it is cookie time.  Ha.  Not until my blog is written.  And maybe my spanish lesson done.

Photos are of the prairie & the Smoky Hill Cemetery.

07 july, 2022 Wandering

My first day truly out of the house.  About time!!  Been far too long in the house & not seeing anyone & hearing from only a few.  Even from some I expected to at least text me once or twice.

Beyond tired of heat & humidity.  Got down to around 72F last night probably due to some rain.  Not much here but Salina had more than we did.  Got up around 10am & the humidity was 91%.  91%  That is unreal!!  Took Nico out & hard to breath or move!!  Down to 57% now.

I had a hair appointment.  Nice to get my hair trimmed & styled.  I had hoped he had time for me next week but I am out of luck.  Have to find another place.  Will not return to the one I used last week.  Awful.  Will research & call soon.  All the ones in Lindsborg are always full too.  I gave up asking years ago.  Maybe should try McPherson.  Cannot hurt.

I love my stylist.  He is the best.  He is friendly, funny, & always gives me a hug when I leave.  Wish we were true friends but he already has many & I am sure I would not fit in.  My luck.

Slept good last night.  Nice for a change.

Last winter & summer I had little sparrows that slept under my carport roof.  Then they left & had no more.  Last night there was one.  Maybe because of the rain.  I wondered if the cats scared them.  But they were always quiet so maybe the cats would not notice.  And really difficult to get to them.  I hope.

Just glanced out my living room window & I saw a black cow in my yard.  Then it was back in the pasture.  Pretty soon there was a white cow in my yard.  Should be one more!  Called KN.  He will check.  No problem.

    Photos today are summer flowers.

Wandering, 29 january 2022

We really got warm today.  It was 64 here at my farm.  Early afternoon the bulls on the north pasture by the driveway were lazy and just laying around.  The cattle on the south pasture by the driveway were actually here where I could see them.  They were laying around too.  Like spring fever.  Hope they soak of all the sun they can for the cold blast coming our way.  Poor babies.

Nico and I sat out this afternoon.  He soaked up some rays too.  As I sat I could see birds flying quietly around my farm.  I saw 2 cows in the pond, at least on the edge.  Ice must be thin so they can break the ice to drink.  That can be dangerous when the ponds are frozen and the cattle thirsty.  They can try to break the ice and then fall in.  Unable to get back out can be dangerous for the poor cattle.

Watching Mysteries of the Abandoned.  They are showing the most famous abandoned places in the world ---- a stadium where Ali and Forman boxed in Africa, a town built by Ford in South America where he wanted to produce his own rubber, a jail or two, where Mandela was jailed, and a huge complex built in Nuremberg for Hitler by Albert Speer.  Parts were never finished.  It was to be a center of Nazism.  Each thing they showed they gave history behind it.  The Nuremburg complex has a huge field that was a zeppelin landing field.  They had a video of it and all the people!  I would rather watch these kinds of shows than what the main channels offer.

I slept ok last night and I had little pain.  I started with pain relieving cream.  I have one that has peppermint essential oil in it.  I love it but I cannot wear it outside the house.  Very strong smell!!  Sometimes my legs are just restless.  That cream stops it and relaxes me.  And if I have had a cold and have that lingering cough that just tickles and keeps on.  I rub some cream on my neck and the cough stops and I can breathe easily again.

Photos today are some old ones.  Some are edited, some are winter, some from my farm, and one of me in Colorado.
