04/2026 - Lördagen den 11: e - MY JOURNEY

 

Stage for the concert.  Nice small area for people to  watch & hear.  I even knew a few there.  Not all.  Only thing I missed was a cocktail.  Will plan ahead next year.  I know someone who can carry me a drink.

    Had an awesome day yesterday.  Supper at Jalisco's.  Good food & fun to see my amigos mexicana.  Then we attended the Jazz Walk.

    There is no way I can say how much I needed this evening.  Sick at home for a week and a half.  I saw no one & talked to no one.  Not healthy for me but it is my life now.  I have pulled up music from the Draper Band to listen to in my car or at home.  Tonight's concert was taped.  I look forward to hearing it again.

    The Jazz Walk is done by the Paul Draper band.  They walk down Main Street & stop at a couple of places to do little concerts.  Then back to the Sundstrom Convention Center for a concert.  And there are cocktails served but no one offers to carry one for me so I never get one.  Carrying food with my cane is not wise.  I am learning to do without a lot.  Today they did  old blues tunes from way back ---- 1960s through the 1990s.  Music was to die for.  My photos are all of the band & things about them.  Sorry I just don't know names.  I do good to remember my name!!!

    I was home around 2130pm.  I did my Spanish lesson that was awful but then too tired to blog.  After I got home we had a short rain shower.  Going to town it was foggy & drizzle.

    Today the town is filled with chalk drawings everywhere by anyone who wants to draw.  Lots of chalk is handed out.  And no rain to ruin the day.

Side note.  MM had complained so much about a local restaurant called China being closed.  (joking.  he knew why)  The owners have been in China for a relative's illness & possible death.  But they back here & China is reopened.  But MM had not been there.  "Too upset about missing his Chinese food".  Lots of teasing him about it.  Well last nite he went in to order take out.  I was parked right there so I had him pose for a photo op.  I posted it on Lindsborg Now.  That photo has over 100 likes & several comments.  All are fun!!!  Not one nasty comment or anything rude.  That is a miracle for my group.  Fun to see who posted!!!

 National Ice Cream Day

This was in FB from Indigo Moo'd where JR & I get our ice cream.  Have to go try this new flavor they have,

    I had another great day at the SVAFC, with lots of people, art, old friends, new friends, good food, & awesome weather.

    The last meals I ordered online were good.  One portion was 2 lemon blueberry muffins,  I had cone for lunch,  I will order those again.  Excellent!!  Moist & tasty!

    Kisse has been "missing"  for 2 days in the house.  Somehow the my old bedroom that is now just a storage room had the door opened up.  She tipped something over that shoved it open.  I usually am careful to make sure it is closed all the way.  But she got it open.  She would not come to me or show herself to me.  Dead silent.  Last night I saw her in that room so I put food & water in there.  After Cinder went out for the day this noon, I opened the door up.  And I told her I was leaving the door open.  While I was getting ready for work, she raced out to the kitty litter pans.  I left the door open & when I got home tonight, she met me in the living room.  I quickly shut the storage room door.  Tightly!!

    When I left for work there was a grasshopper on my car windshield.  I got his photo & shared it.

    A friend opened the SVAFC for me.  We were in school but she was younger,  Had several guests to come in to see this show.  All were friendly,  Very nice.  Two local artists came in.  One had a piece in the show, the other was there to look at the show & chat.  Fun.

    At 3pm, a small group of musicans came in to our back room & played or practiced.  I enjoyed them.  Then a large group of artists had a meeting in the gallery  planning something.

    JR & I had supper at China.  I tried something new. Shrimp & fried rice.  I got sweet & sour sauce to put on them.  Perfect.  I like the sweet & sour chicken but the portions are huge.  I brought half of this home.  Loved it.

    In China was a cousin & her husband,  Had a really nice visit with them.  Their son is an awesome artist besides a hard working farmer.

    Next a stop was for groceries.  I did not need very much.  But JR sure did!!  Then through the car wash.  It was overdo.  But the weatherman just said chance of rain tomorrow afternoon.  Good.  Hope it is my fault.

    Tonight it is nice to have my cats near me.  Life is as it should be.

    Last night my cousin in Colorado called me & today we texted some. I hope she is feeling better. She is one of me best friends. My friend in the hospital in KC is feeling better so we texted often,  I like that.  Yesterday he was silent.  He is really special in my life,  Hope his feeling better continues,  I would give just about anything if I could get there to see him.  If someone could drive me up to just see him & then back home.  But I fear there is one.

In the other half of the SVAFC is the local newspaper.  They have a Santa mail box.  Fun to watch kids walk by and peek in to see if Santa has left anything.  Unfortunately, those who deliver Amazon packages have not figured out it is only for SANTA and not for AMAZON so odd things are left there.  Soo funny.  😊😊😊.

National Peppermint Patty Day 

Today's Name Day:  Inge, Yngve

    Have had a pretty good day.  Slept good with Cinder laying on me all night.  Then I got up around 8am.  My laptop was to be here today & someone had to sign for it.  So I moved to the sofa.  Again Cinder laid on me all morning.  At noon she wanted outside.  Opened the door & there was a large box on the porch.  My laptop.  No knock on the door & no signature needed,  Sheesh. 😡

    All afternoon I was making sure everything was set up perfect.  Plus I had made changes on my windows pc.  Now all is well.  Nice to have it back!!!

    JR & I had supper at China.  Decided Pizza Hut would be too busy & have too many in house & call in orders.  China was quiet.  And they have more help.  Good to see.

    JR ran into the grocery store for both of us.  I was out of important things like cookies &  Pepsi!!!  😊

    Got cold last night,  I saw 29F.  I guess it lightly snowed,  I never saw it,  Only saw the radar,  It was cool today.  Colder tonight again.  Not ready for warm weather.

    Tonight is one of the safe nights to be on the roads.  All the drunks are inside somewhere by a TV watching the Super Bowl..  I am even watching it here at home.  I sort of care.

    MM is bartending at the Legion.  His specialty drink is red with glitter in it.  Cool!!!

 Today's Name Day is Inge

    An OK day.   But my credit card quit working.   Looks ok but cannot use it.   I will have to call tomorrow, or just delete it & use one of my banks to do the same thing as the card I use now.   Might give them another chance.    So frustrating.

    Warm today.   No chance of rain/snow.   The drought moves on.   Rain chances midweek.   And then on Christmas.   Only rain, no snow.

    Trying to figure out what is open for our Christmas meal,   One of our fave pizza places is open but only until 6pm.   Jalisco's is open until 2pm.   No idea about  the truck stops in Salina.   I sort of wish in town that each holiday there would be one local eating place open at least part of a day.   They could rotate.   But no one wants to work,   I can hear the whining now.   When I worked holidays off was a joke.   We took turns.

    Supper today was at China.   Our first time there with the new owners.   They remodeled & it looks quite nice,   Beautiful Chinese art & fans.   We were waited on as soon as we were inside.   Food was fixed fairly fast.   They have large servings that are tasty.   Not too expensive.   Their egg drop soup was awesome.   I need to buy some just to take home.   I had sweet & sour chicken.   Excellent.   I took leftovers home.   Dessert was ice cream at Indigo Moo'd..   They had peppermint for me.   I am addicted!!

    Late last night a distant relatative on my dad's side called me.   We are friends on FB.   There were several relatives on that side I was friends with, but most have passed on now.   This sweet man is maybe my age but not sure.   It was really special to hear his voice.   We talked about everything & promised to talk again soon,   We both have health problems so we need to talk now,   He has daughters who help him travel.   If I had someone to help me, I would love to meet him.   But I have no one to help me.

    Photos today are actually ones I have taken or created,   The first Christmas tree is the one Willie & I had.   It was pretty.   I miss having a tree & lights outside.   Again, there is no one to help me or care if I have lights or not.

    The Nativity was partially bought with money donated in my father's memory after he died.   I took that photo today & did some editing so it would look extra good,   The best is when it is covered in snow. 

    The Julbock is located in Gävle Sweden.   Taken today.   Not burned down yet.

28 april, 2023 Wandering & Capturing Moments

    No sleep last night.  In my mind I was not in a good place.  Better today.  I had no idea that being alone at the twilight of my life would be so hard.  Sooooo hard.  And so alone.  Where is my support group?

    This is a sad weekend for me.  The little girl who called me Grandma for years is getting married.  I was never even told she was engaged.  I have not seen her in years & she lives here.  I used to ask her to go out to eat, but she had no time.  At least not for me.  I have not been included in anything.  So I am not going.  I have to be careful of what I eat, I do not know anyone there or who she is marrying.  I cannot walk far or stand for long times.  Just easier to stay home.  And no one will miss me at all.  But I am still hurt & upset.  Oh well.  Only my problem.  No one to give me support as usual.

    I did sleep this afternoon.  Helped how I feel.  And I managed not to cry anymore.

    Love the weather.  Very light rain all night.  Cloudy & cool.  My kind of weather.  If only it would last.  Not in Kansas.  Heat & humidity will arrive soon I am sure.

    JR & I were going to eat supper at Crown & Rye.  What a joke!!  There was not a parking spot anywhere near them.  I forgot tomorrow is college graduation!!  Tons of people in town.  We ate at China instead.  Awesome Chinese food.  I have enough left for a good meal tomorrow noon.  Soooo good.  I love Sweet & Sour Chicken & egg drop soup.  Need to eat there more often.

    China is now sold.  The owners are retiring but I heard they have it sold.  And the new owners will have a buffet.  Great!  Easy to run in for a quick noon meal.  Healthy & fresh made food.  No leftovers for days in there.  Safe food to eat.

    All 3 kids in all day.  I think they got along ok  Pretty sure Nico & Cinder were sleeping under my bed.  Kisse had control of the top of the bed.  She was enjoying the blanket by the window.
