01/2026 - Tisdag the 20th - MY JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Fabian, Sebastian 

Fabian is one of my fave singers.  Saw him live once.  Friends in Sweden had a dog named Fabian.

    Today was a "me" day.  I took care of only me.  Cinder had a "cinder" day by staying close.  Yesterday was her day.  She laid on me all afternoon & all evening.

    The weather was warm today.  Highs in the 50s.  Ends today.  Scary weather forecast.  Turning super cold & snow starts on friday.  From Salina on south is the highest amount of snow.  I called the girl I am working at the gallery for & she was clueless.  No clue the weather is turning bad.  I told her if it is bad I might not be able to make it to work.  She is looking for someone in town.  The one weatherman said snow could be quite deep.  I refuse to drive in very deep snow.  The high on saturday is only 9F.  I hate to drive when it is that cold.  Live alone so who will know if I get home or not.  People are too busy to keep track of me.  This I know.  Either too busy or don't care.  I do not want MH to get stuck working for me although he told me to stay home if I need to.  Hope she finds someone for me.

    I slept late then took a nice warm shower & shampoo.  Relaxing.  Hair looks & feels better.  Applied lots of nice lotion.  My dry Sjögren's skin is a mess.

    I managed a short nap.  Cinder laid with me a short time then back to her nest on top of my desk.  Kisse was under my bed.  That is her new fave place.

    People are quiet today.  One text from MM.  A couple of emails from JL.  Got a text from someone I texted first.  Everyone else is ignoring me.  I am turning into an introvert but it is not by choice.  What choice when I get ignored most of the time.

    Living room is chilly.  Have my room heater on.  Should help.

    Time for supper.  My sugar had just dropped to a low reading.  Glucose tabs helped.  No appetite.  Too lazy to cook

09/2025 - Viernes the 05th - JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Adela, Heidi

I have a cousin in Washington state name Adela.  The owner of Jalisco's has a daughter Adela.  A local family have a daughter named Heidi.

    

    I had a good day.  Finally.  I slept fair.  Cinder cuddled from 6am until I got up.  Nice.

    I met LL for lunch at the White Peacock.  MM needed a ride to downtown plus my umbrella.  He walked with me inside.  Nice to have someone worry about me.  I was scared to death today.

    LL & I had a nice lunch & visit.  It is nice on fridays that it is just her & me.  We can discuss work with no one to hear our opinions.  Nice moments.  While we were eating, MH came in for lunch.  He was soooo excited that his art show starts today.  He asked if I am ready!!  I can hardly wait to see it all tomorrow.

    After LL left for work, MM returned to give me my umbrella.  And help me to my car.  After getting to my car without incident, my strong feelings of fear left.  MM is the best!!!  He was off to Salina & some shopping.  He got a bright red Chiefs  shirt.  Nice one.

    Lots of texting between CW & me also.  He is a nice friend.  I am so lucky.  I got this week's newpaper with a huge article about my artist friend RG.  Cannot wait to read it all.  And a delivery guy came to the Old Mill.  He is an artist that I know.  Had a great visit.  He is a fantastic artist.

    Work was good.  I finished the photos I was working on.  Then the next bunch I sorted by size & added names of those I know.  There were some special people in them.  Two Swedish people I remember so well.  One was a great man who was the head of the Stockholm opera.  I spent some nice time with him.  The other was a nice lady I ate almost daily lunches with her & another Swede.  Her daughter was an actress who was up for a movie award like our Oscar.  And we got to see her film.  Great memories.  I actually got started scanning them.

    Then JR & I ate at Jalisco's.  It looks awesome!!  A lady & her daughter who used to live here are back & working in Jalisco's.  She saw me walk in & came to give me a huge hug!!  I was surprised & she made my week!!!  Great to see her!!  I am glad she is here.  We will take care of her here.

    The Bethany College mens soccer team had a match today in Nebraska.  And they won 5-0.  Wow!!! Awesome.  Great start to the year.  Have to try to go to a match or two.

    Home now & tired.  Bed will feel good.

    Photos are many autumn pictures, Halloween, & others.  I love the autumn colors.  Today was heaven.  Our high was around 60F.  Almost cold!!  Rained from 3am until 430pm.  Did not get much but it was awesome weather.

08/2025 - Jueves the 28th - JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Fatima, Leila

    Pretty good day.  Slept good when I finally fell asleep.  Had a thunderstorm around 3am.  Had some thunder & lightning.  I got a total of 0.68".  More than usual.  Nice.  Today stayed cloudy & dry.  Pretty cool.  Nice.  Hope this weather lasts for a long time.

    Lunch with girlfriends was cancelled.  Will meet next week.  I was tired so not upset.

    Jalisco's reopened.  Totally new look.  Will miss the brick walls.

    Met my artist friend RG.  We met at the Sale BARn.  I was a bit early & got to make friends with our waitress & the owner of the business who is also the cook.  Got bad news though.  RG is leaving earlier than he & I thought.  He goes home on saturday.  Dang.  I love his company.  He is fun to talk to but I always talk too much. Probably since I an lonely often.  Next year he is not here until September.  Too long to wait.  We have decided to make phone calls.  Be nice.

    Lowering my insulin is better so far.  RA sucks big time.  Awful.

    When I headed for home I noticed how low my fuel was.  Yikes!!!  Thank goodness I was still in town.  Close call.
