07/2025 - Jueves the 17th - JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Bruno

    Had a good day & night.  Nice sleep.  Cinder lay on me often.  Kisse was nearby where she can see me.

    Today I met my thursday lunch group.  We went to the newest place on Main Street called The Sale BARn.  There was no parking place any where on Main!!!  I finally got a place across the street where I could see the door easily.  We got a table right away.  All 4 of us were there.  Fun to see them & we had good conversation.  I tried to talk much less.  I never let anyone else have a chance to talk.  Probably since I an alone so often.  Hope I was better.  I am trying.

    I got the Hangover Burger.  Hamburger, cheese, pickle, & egg.  I did not get the tomato & lettuce.  It was perfect.  Will return for sure.  Next time no side orders.  Just too much food. Bothered my tummy a little.  They do have alcohol.  Did not check to see if they had a rum & coke.  Sure they might.

    Someone tried to charge something to my one credit credit so I needed a new one.  That was my second stop.  Very nice young man helped me.  When my card was ready he walked me to the front door & held it open.  

    Inside the bank is some awesome created furniture made by a local artist.  Cannot sit on it.  I am related to his mother.

    When I got home it was nap time. And had a good nap.  Then I felt better.

    Great weather last night & today.  Had rain overnight.  I got 0.93".  Very nice.  Today stayed cloudy & 73F all day.  Perfect.  Tomorrow will suck again.  Up to almost 100F.  And all next week.  I dread it. Hate heat & summers.  Will stay inside all I can.

    Talked with KN today.  Thanked him for mowing my yard & drive way.  We have a mutual friend who has lost half of his leg.  He is diabetic.  He got his first version of his new leg yesterday.  Hoping he does well with it.

07/2025 - Martes the 15th- JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Ragnhild, Ragnvald

    Had a good day.  Still hard to walk but am managing.  Stomach no good so I took some meds.  They helped.

    After lunch I shampooed & styled my hair.  Looks 100% better.  After that I tried to take a nap but could not relax enough to sleep.  I gave up.

    JR & I went to supper at Pizza Hut.  I actually ate some pizza.  They were swamped with customers.  Good to see.  

    While eating one of Willie's best friends came in for pizza.  Had not seen him since long before Willie died,  We had a short but nice visit.  Great to see him.  I think he & Willie had a falling out long before he died,  I think his friend just did not realise that he was really sick ---- dementia & alcoholism.  Most of Willie's friends did not like me.  I was not a proper farm wife.  I had a life besides sitting in a tractor.  I was a city girl.  None of their business.

    Then on to get some groceries.  I just needed around 5 things.  Nothing too big.  And a newspaper.  Cinder was out of her treat meat.  She was glad when I got home & shared!!!

    Ended the evening with an ice cream sandwich from Dollar General,  Very good.

    Had several boxes from Amazon on my porch.  I dreaded dealing with them.  It is a monthly supplies.  Paper products,  chips, cookies, soaps, cat food.  Easier to deal with them on my porch than going in a store & carry then twice or more.  And with no backup I do what I can to make life easier for me.  Although MM says I should call him to help.  Bless him & love him.

    Heard from our cousin in Kentucky.  He & I had a long visit online.  Chatted about my weather & our families.  Good chat

    Heard from MM & another friend.  The friend checks on me often.  Besides MM she is almost the only one who checks daily to see if I am ok.

    Awful weather today.  I saw 99F here.  Ick.  Around 6am the humidity was 98%.  Tonight it is 30%.  No rain near us here.

    The sunset was incredible.  Will share tomorrow.  Took photos.  Look pretty good.  And it is really showing how the days are getting shorter.  I sure noticed it tonight.  😁

    Got home & what a surprise!! My yard & driveway was all mowed.  I tried to call KN but must be busy.  Looks nice.

06/2025 - Jueves the 19th - JOURNEY

 

Today's Name Day:  Germund, Görel

    Today was a great day!!  I slept well.  Had no storms last night.  Less pain, sort of.

    Got up & heard lawn mowers in my yard.  KN & CN were both mowing.  CN left early to go to a movie with his mom & sister.  KN left my flowers blooming for now.  I got a few photos today.

    Met my thursday lunch group at the Crown & Rye.  I had wanted Swedish pancakes but they no longer serve them during the week.  Only sunday noon.  Dang.  Must cancel sunday evening eating out & move it to monday evening,  Then I can eat sunday noon & get my pancakes.  How can they do this in a Swedish town???

    Lunch was good.  I had soup & fries.  Often their soup is something I do not like.  Today it was beef & barley.  Very good.  We had good conversation.  Fun times.

    After lunch I went to the Öl Stuga to see MM.  It was slow there.  Two of my fave people were working.  MM & ZR.  My third fave is on vacation, CW.  I had a spiced rum & coke for dessert.  We had time to chat.  MM was cooking.  

    MM needed a ride to get groceries & a ride home.  I had plenty of time.  He bought me a dessert for later & Kalles for my hard tack.  Fun!!!

    Went home to take a nap.  No where near as tired as yesterday.  Finally over a busy week & busy stormy night.  At last.  Kisse was in her bed.  She curls up & you cannot see her in it. Cinder laid on me for my entire nap.  Needed her.

    Woke up from my nap & was sick to my stomach.  No idea why.  I took some meds & am ok now.  I was scared it was maybe a flu or something.  Hope not.  I was careful what I chose for supper.

    Quite hot today.  I saw 92F.  I got a package after supper delivered.  About died going out from the humidity.  Will only get worse.  Lordy I hate summers in Kansas.  Why did I not move away years ago when I could have.  Too late for me now.  I am stuck here for life.  Oh, the dreams of fools........

Öl Stuga & my drink

Sweet friends from my past.  Top is John Bergers, bestie & great artist.  Virginia Brunsell.  She & Mom were friends when I was in grade school.  Then they grew apart. When Mom's mom died from a car wreck near Denver Colorado Virginia & her husband went to bring her body home to Lindsborg.  Much later in life, Virginia & I became good friends.  She had John paint her a picture she wanted.  When she died, I bought that painting from her family.  It is special.

05/2025 Torsdag the 29th - Wandering & Capturing Moments

 

Rain for a couple of days.  I got 0.88".  Nice.

Today's Name Day:  Jeanette, Yvonne
 I have a good friend Jeanette, an aunt Jeanette, knew a Yvonne & another one who went by Vonnie.

    Today was a great day.  Did not sleep well, but survived.  Less pain which is good.

    I had lunch with 3 friends at the Öl Stuga.  I was the first one there.  MM was cooking.  ZR was the waiter.  He asked what I wanted to drink.  I told him a coke & if a bit of rum happened to be added to it I would like it.  Nice to have a rum & coke for lunch.  No one even questioned why I had a glass glass instead of a paper glass.  I am entitled to a nice cocktail when I want to enjoy one.

    The one friend's husband has a printer that can print plastic things.  Today we each got a little lizard like thing.  So cute!!  Here is mine.  He is really tiny!!

    After visiting I drove home for a nice nap.  I needed one.  At the end of my nap I had long phone call with KN.  I still own a bit of pasture that had a pond on it.  The pond has gone dry so KN  wants to drill a water well.  I offered to pay but he said he would take it out of my pasture rent payment.

    When I got home after lunch there was a large group of cattle close to my driveway.  The llamas were with them.  When they spotted my car, their heads jerked erect, & they ran to see me!!  How cool.  One was close enough to the fence his head was almost was in my car.  Very cool.  They get sheared on  sunday so they will look different.  Nice that. they know my car!  And me!!

    Supper was with JR & MM at Jalisco's.  MM had just got done working & the kids are in Wichita.  Then he went home to cuddle with Gracie, my grandpuppy.  She had been alone all day.

    JR & I had snowcones for dessert.  Too good for words.  I hate not to give the business to Jalisco's but I am sorry!  MA knows.

    My back started hurting during supper.  Still hurts.  I tried some pain killing cream but not much help.
