International Migrants Day

December 18 marks International Migrants Day, a day dedicated to recognizing the rights and contributions of migrants around the world. This day was established by the United Nations in 2000 as an opportunity to celebrate and honor the millions of people who have been forced to leave their homes in search of a better life. It is also a time to recognize the courage and resilience of those individuals who are striving for a better future for themselves and their families. So join us on December 18th in celebrating International Migrants Day!

Today's Name Day is Abraham

    My day started very stressful.   I had at least a dozen emails with my credit card not working.   Not ready to be back on the phone.   Again!   Cancelled my day.

    Called Venmo again.   But not my app or Venmo.   They had me call the bank they use.   Easy fix..   I made an error & they shut down my card.   Nice.   Will be reset in a couple of days.   Time will tell.   I saved their phone number.   I spent all morning changing my card numbers on places Venmo was on.   So then the emails stopped.

    Rescheduled lunch for another day.   Good & also planning to look at Christmas lights soon.   I may not take a photo & just let JR take all he wants.

    Nico & I took a nap together on the sofa.   We snuggle close to each other.   These memories will be special in the future.   I was deleting dog food & treats on Amazon,   Made me sad.   He surely will not be here in January.

    It was cold last night but ok today.   High winds tomorrow.   Storms on the weekend & Christmas.   No snow here.   Maybe a little in western Kansas.   But rain is good,   We need the moisture.  

    The tv network that Saturday Night Live is on did work Saturday night.   I saw bits & pieces today.   The weekend news was the best!!!

    I have not seen the Willie Nelson birthday celebration.  Will watch it this week sometime.   The concert of his I saw was the best.   Love him.

National Ugly Sweater Day

Today's Name Day is Assar

    Not the best of days but ended sort of better.   Waited all day yesterday for my credit card company to call to help me fix my card app.   I got nada.   Finally this afternoon my patience died.   I called them.   The first helper did nothing for me,   Not sure she had a clue what I tried to tell her.   Called a second time.   This helper actually got it.   She transfered me to the right department.   And gave me their phone number.   I got a guy who knew his stuff.   He had me do a couple of things & it finally worked!!!   Miracle!!!  He instructed me to wait a while then delete then entire program & reload it,   I almost needed a shot of tequila.   I was terrified I would have to call him back,   But it loaded right up with no problem.   He assured me that my bank, etc. was not the problem but something in the software.   Thank you so much Leonard!!!

    Nico was even good while I was on the phone,   That is a major shock!!   And a blessing.   Last night he seemed different.   Really worried me.   But today he was just Nico.   I think his time is short.   And I am terrified.   But I will have to face that alone.   Trust me.   I will be extra invisible at that time.

    I had some Amazon supplies on the porch so I took Nico out while I opened boxes, sorted things, organized boxes.   It was chilly out but not too bad.   We both needed some fresh air.

    I pretty much cancelled today.   I just did not have it in me to go to town & eat.   I am out of some food things here but I won't starve.   Nico & I shared pasta.   Pretty good.

    Early this afternoon I watched Home Alone 1.   I love that movie.   And I love when the spider is on the one bad guy!!!   I got the giggles!!!   Needed to giggle!

    A small series of bad things happened tonight & I ended up having a major meltdown.   Losing Nico is really getting to me.   And Christmas is not helping.   In one month I lost my best friend, my mom, & my husband.   All with no support group or family support.   

At least they were not all in the same year!!!   Christmas & family ended for me when Mom died.   I have tried to do cards but just cannot handle the stress.   I used to make all my own cards.   No more!!   I thought I had family support when Willie died but how wrong I was.   What a shock to me.   How did I miss their real feelings?

    I taped the daytime Emmy awards show.   So much better than watch that way.   I can fast forward through the people & shows I do not care about,   Then I watch the commercials.   It usually seems the awards are rather one sided,   But the best actor & actress were from my show!!   That never happens.

    I am still pouting about never getting snow here.   We cannot even get normal winter weather.   I wrote on FB about my feelings.   Those summer loving people always get the weather they want.   It is almost always hot, sunny, no rain.   But I rarely get what I enjoy.   And I am not alone.   I belong to a group that dislikes summer.   They give lots of support to each other.

    Have too many photos on my phone so have some sorted & deleted.   THAT makes me stressed.,

International Tea Day

Today's Name Day is Gottfrid

    Not a wonderful day.   Could have been much worse but still bad. 

    Started the day with my phone company calling saying my credit card was overdrawn.   It was not.   I just paid it off but my card is not working correctly.   I knew I was a going to have to call them & today was the day.  

    Called them around 930am.   A very nice lady helped me.   She had an accent but not sure what kind.    I understood her ok & we even laughed at a few jokes we told.   She tried her best to help me but just could not.   But she took all my information plus a screen shot that I sent to her.   She gathered all the information & sent it to other workers who hopefully know how to fix my account.   She said she would email me when they were ready.   Apparently they are not ready today.   Hopefully tomorrow.   All my bills are paid for by that card.   Then once a month I pay it off,   My stress level was sky high.   I missed lunch with MM & skipped supper with JR.   Not in the mood to get dressed to go out.   Sorry for others but I do what I can.

    Nico & I napped on the sofa.   I set my alarm for every 45 minutes so I would not miss my email if it happened.   Totally gave up near 430pm.

    It started raining  around 10pm last night.   Rained most of the night & today.   The last time I was out it was still raining but the radar shows it has probably quit now.   Forecasting rain next week & on Christmas.   No snow though.   God forbid I could enjoy some snow.   I don't get a real Christmas.   I do not think a white Christmas is too much to ask.   But apparently it is.

    I am doing a fund raiser for the Old Mill Museum. People buy a membership & the Mill gets 3x that amount.  We are at 40% of our goal.   That is so exciting.   I gave them permission to use my name.   But.   Only 3 people have said anything nice to me about it.   One friend who lives in Denmark,  My former boss & her daughter.   No other friends or family have made a comment.   I chose not to tell family who live away from here.   I doubt they would care.   We rarely see each other.   Oh well.    I did not agree to do this for them.   It is for the Mill & for my own sense of what is right & good,

    I was not going to watch Home Alone 2 this year but I am watching the end of it,   The only thing that made me laugh today!   Next is the Grinch Who Stole Christmas.   Have several Christmas movies taped.   Need to watch them.   Or it will be Valentine's Day & I will still watching them.

    I opened a box in the living room yesterday.   Never got it taken out to the trash.   Then I picked up trash around the house & set the bag on the box..   Kisse climbed in & you could not see her.   Could just hear the paper rattling around.   She napped there all day!   Must have been cozy!!

    The julbock in Gälve Sweden is doing good,   But the birds are damaging it but eating the seeds on it,   It is covered in wheat,   It is usually destroyed by fire but this year it is the birds!!

    The Santa is the best Santa ever.   His sister (my aunt) made is costume.   He passed away recently.   A sad loss.

    The tree is from a game I play.   Start with a bare tree & then earn points to decorate the tree.   Thought it looked pretty good so I saved a photo of it.

     The stuffed animal is a gift from a dear friend I took to the airport when he went back home to Brazil.   It has on a Bethany College tee shirt from our local college.   He played soccer there.   I sure miss him.   But we chat sometime.
