04/2025 Måndag the 21h - Wandering & Capturing Moments

Today's Name Day:  Anneli, Annika

Had a good day & night.  When I went to bed Cinder followed.  And immediately jumped up next to me.  And never left all night.  She was with for most of my nap also.  Kisse was close all day & night.
Got hotter than I expected today.  Clouds left so the house got up to 80F.  Ick.  I got up from my nap & hit the AC!!!  Feels good tonight.  Great!!
Supper was pizza.  Tasted OK but my stomach was not thrilled.  The first piece was ok bu the second one was just too much.
After supper we bought groceries.  Think I am set for a while.  Hope JR is also.  Dollar General has a brand of ham I like much better so we went there for my ham.  And we each had an ice cream sandwich.  Perfect.  My tummy approved.
I am so sad that Pope Francis has passed away.  I am not Catholic but thought of changing to one once or twice.  Still crosses my mind sometimes. He was one of the good guys & will be missed.  Hope the new pope is a good guy also.
Measles is spreading fast.  So sad.  And the result of stupidity.  Hate to hear children are dying that did not need to die.  Breaks my heart.  When I was a tiny child I had the measles.  Maybe around 1 year old.  I broke out with them inside my body not on the outside.  Dr. Holwerda came to see me at my grandma's every day after his office hours.  We lived next door to my mom's parents.
No Colbert.  Dang.  Watching Maddow from earlier tonight.
Photos tonight are from the internet.

So true for me!!

Wandering Through Life, 27 august 2021

Very windy today but less humid.  Saw 100F in my car.  No chance of rain anywhere near me.  As usual.  Tomorrow???

I went to the Red Barn to say goodbye to my artist friend.  Oh, I will miss him.  He is a rare person who understands me and how I feel and what I have been through.  Will keep in touch.  There was a man in visiting him from Concordia.  Really nice.  Fun to talk with people who like art and stuff.

Had supper with my brother.  Great food.  The staff were ornery too.  Fun to laugh.

Watching Rachel Maddow.  How sad it is that almost her entire show was about farm animal wormer medication, those who are pushing it, those who are selling it, and those who take it but refuse vaccination or masks.  We are a very stupid country.  I cannot imagine anyone convincing me to take cattle medicine.  How stupid do you have to be??

I noticed a huge number of barn swallows or field swallows in my pasture on the electricity wires.  Are they planning to leave here already?  For whatever reason I have no barn swallows near my house.  We used to.  Miss them.  Not been close enough to tell which kind they are in the pasture.

There was soccer tonight. I never considered to go.  I simply will not sit out in the heat.  Wish it would cool off so I can go enjoy my teams playing.

Photos are all taken at the Red Barn today.

Wandering Through Life, 18 auqust 2021

I had a super busy day.  Very nice.  I started with a long leisurely lunch with my non bio grandson.  Nice to spend time with him.  We ate at Jalisco’s.  Missed his girlfriend and kids.

I worked today at the Old Mill.  LOve the old photos and I had been doing my family photos. Family I only know by names.  I photographed each one.  Nice to have a face to the names.  While there I got to meet the new director.  I like her. She was very nice and we chatted a little.  Nice to be told goodbye when I left.  She already has some good ideas.

Had a short break at home. Then back to town.  Had supper with my brother.  And the manager and my best friend at Jalisco’s were sure in prime form tonight!  Lots of joking. It is nice for me to actually feel good inside.  HOpe it lasts.

I watched Rachel Maddow tonight.  She told a story of someone who worked for us in Afghanistan.  She told it minute by minute and photo by photo.  I ended up sitting on the edge of the sofa not knowing the outcome.  And when Rachel cried so did I.  I am still tense.  If you get a chance to see her story, please do.

Weather is ok.  Not too hot but no rain.  The dust grows and increases.

Photos are a mix.

The Plague, Day 123........

A quiet day. Nothing scheduled. Weather a bit cooler but tonight a bit humid. Super hot temps coming and then cooler and a bit of rain. Maybe. Nico wanted to be outside for a little. He laid in the sun on his side, then on his back. When he got too warm he was back on the cement. He is so pale I would hate for him to get sunburned.

Back to Lindsborg to give JG his shot. Had a nice visit with him and his brother DV. None of speak the other's language too much but we can use a translator. DV and I shared a fun memory! I took him to Wichita to update his papers so he can stay here from Guatemala.

My Swedish group is tomorrow morning. Really do not want to go but will try once. Very glad I no longer am president or have to make coffee. I was so tired. Eleven years is just too much.

Watching Maddow now. Mary Trump is on. Could not miss it.

Found out one of my favorite pizza places in Salina does not require masks of anyone, including the help. Sad. Cross them off my list.

Photos are from the Lindsborg area and town. Taken by me.
